It lowers morale among the people, affirming negative emotions. The line "I don't wanna live" may bring people closer to suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Not that the people who rule the world actually care about people killing themselves tho. That's the only hole I have in my theory.

I love how Lana's attitude towards substances progresses through her albums. In her earlier ones she glorifies them. Then she starts to reflect on the darker side to them, and it's around the time she made this song you can tell she's fucking over them. I hear she's sober now, happy for her ❤

@@koniec7638 Well in my opinion, I can see why some people don't like COTCC, it's an experimental album and sounds "distant" from her other albums. But, I love Blue Banisters so much, because now Lana has different vocals tecniques, wich I personally think is better than the tone she used in some songs during UV and BTD to express that lolita side, and also she opens up about traumas from the past, fame, the hate she's receiving, her family, thoughts about life and even about her relashionship with her sister. At first I hated the piano in the songs, but then I remembered, it's her father playing on some of them (Sweet Carolina, for example) and it must mean a lot to Lana after all the problems she had seeking a father figure...

Unfortunately I never got into Lana as a teenager like I should've, but when I heard this song for the first time I literally had to pull over on the side of the road. A decade's worth of pain and tears unfurled out of my body and screamed along with her. What a beautiful and special song.

Felt that in my soul I remember when I listened to it too I was at work doing the morning shift and I was all alone I just put some random playlist and this song came on. When Lana screamed I don’t wanna live it scratched some part of my brain so I restarted the song and just sat down and digested the song. I was in tears and just had to let a lot out because during that time I got out of a really weird situationship and listening to Dealer helped me move on

it's been a year and i still come back to this song. such an underrated masterpiece.

I love her breathy voice, it reminds me of purring and it's so comforting

okayy WHY is her yelling/screaming/moaning/singing so sensual? I love that she is okay with being weird if it means being genuine to her art. add 1 odd element (done well) to your song and I swear it stimulates the brain for more replays. Shes done it since her first album in diferent ways here and there & she always pulls it off. never overly produced which is so refreshing. I also LOVE Thunder, Beautiful, Violets for Roses, & If You Lie Down With Me as core favorites from her new record.

I cried, when I heard this song, especially when Lana is screaming...Wanna scream with her! This album so sad, reminds a little the era of Ultraviolence. Although in Ultraviolence was more of a suicidal effect, here it is more, everything is very depressing, but there is some kind of Happy ending. I love you Lana! This is just one of those songs that are superior and give you goosebumps on the back of your neck. It's one of those songs that make you feel like you're in a movie or you don't feel real. I just love it so much

this song can fit well as a background in a movie it is so great

reminds me of trying to save my ex who was an addict. Just so casually devastating... the rage vocals definitely fit how I felt... and them him singing all calm like "just don't come looking for me"

Fucking same. Spent all summer laying in our own dirt making sure he didn’t get alcoholic seizures and helping him however with expenses and enabling his behaviour. That rage makes me cry angry tears. I’m happy he’s no longer looking for me.

Yesss this song is so good and the way miles kane says "hes no fucking spirit healer" gives me goosebumps!!

I have a bit of a connection to this song, I used to spend nights talking to a friend of mine back then on call for hours with this in the back, and now everytime I listen it reminds me of those days where she slowly ruined me without me realizing. That was 3 years ago and the fact that it still has an effect after so long is scary.
