To be fair, the movie is based on a book and from what I've heard, the book ending is also a letdown. That being said, if I was Shyamalan's daughter and was adapting a novel for my first movie, you'd bet your behind it would have a banger ending.

Yeah, I saw it tonight. The beginning wasn’t necessarily strong for me, but it was intriguing. Especially Dakota Fanning’s character. But a lot of the intriguing aspects of her character, including the character’s attitude, kind of get lost in the rest of the movie. At least, it did for me. It wasn’t bad or anything. It's just. I remember thinking I wanted to see how this character handles what happens next, and it didn’t really feel like the same character throughout. If that makes any sense. I’m gonna see it again with my friend though, to see if maybe I missed something. I say it’s worth a watch 🙂

Upon doing so the Giants turned to stone, albeit some could move around perhaps with limited capacity, while others were immobilised. If you follow this rabbit hole, you'll assuredly ultimately get into fringe topics like mudfossils for example. Mudfossil University, being the top go-to channel for this theory.

Man didn't need to be taught how to sin worse and worse. We are perfectly capable of sinning on our own without demonic influence. Jeremiah 17:9-10 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. Romans 1:28-32 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate (adokimos: failing to pass the test, unfit, worthless, counterfeit, unapproved) mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, *inventors of evil things,* disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. --All one needs to do to see this today is turn on any Liberal social media feed. Immorality is praised as being "love, morally just, tolerance, inclusion" with those who practice and promote "progressive" Liberalism (atheistic Marxist ideologies) being praised, called "stunning and brave". Keep in mind that the part about being worthy of death is not saying we should kill anyone who practices such things, but these are sins that God will judge them for and throw them into the lake of fire which is called the second death. Of course, in the Old Testament people would have been killed under the Mosaic Laws if they committed such things. Romans 3:10-12 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” Isaiah 64:6 *But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;* and we all do fade as a leaf; *and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.* Romans 3:19-23 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, *and all the world may become guilty before God.* 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 *For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;*

Hope M Nights daughter does well. Her fathers shadow stretches far, but because of the trainwreck that has been his film career lately, she might be able to surpass him sooner than expected if she puts more effort into the scripts and does away with her fathers obsession for plot twists. Or, at least does them well.

I felt it needed an extra 20 minutes of Dialogue between the characters to build a better relationship with the audience and less showing of the creatures in the middle of the movie to bring more tension. Also the film kind of creates a sense of each character was brought their for a reason but never pays off, it would've been nice to have some type of spiritual meaning to the group at the end of the film to really pay it off m, kind of like how Signs did. Overall I would give this a 6 out of 10 rating.

The book has a lot of grand cosmic-horror concepts and ideas that are rather unsettling but don't lend itself well to being shown in a live-action film. I'm not surprised hearing that the second half comes across as goofy. The book has a fairly bone-chilling finale, but seeing it in a movie? Idk. I'm curious to see the finished product.

My biggest takeaway from watching the movie was the tonal inconsistencies. Without spoiling, as the movie goes on, things are revealed that make the watchers appear not as bad as they seem, but their actions never reflect that when it matters. Are they evil or not? And if they are not, how? What stakes are there?
