This was the same reaction I had when I woke up one day, realizing my crypto was gone. I remembered years ago, after taking Mr Wonderfuls advice to use FTX...and while Mr Wonderful is able to wake up and fall in love with 7 figure watches, I've moved back into my parents basement, got my Cheetos at my side...my comfort food.. and crying here along with Mr Wonderful. For different reasons obviously.

Mass manufactured timepiece btw. If Rolex sells a million watches a year, then AP sells 50-100K pieces. Sure, this is one of one, but all the parts they mass produce (except the gems). To put it into further context, it’s like crying at getting a one of one Prius by Toyota that has been given a custom trim in the factory.

I appreciate the work and craftmanship that AP put into this Royal Oak. However, I came to the realization that the video was less about the watch and more about a wealthy hoarder who wanted to tell everyone that he has something that nobody else has and wants everyone to know it!

I feel similar. It is more rewarding to focus on making one happy from within. I do have one expensive antique Rolex. I prefer wearing a $20 Digital Casio because it is easier to use as an alarm clock and see in the dark. I would rather impress people with my kindness then by showing off, I have some thing they can’t afford.

Besides that, I think the watch it's just horrible.

Right before the pandemic I opened up my first warehouse production studio after dreaming and fighting for 4 years. On the grand opening I lost it and wept in front of all my friends and family. I don't get emotional often but tears of accomplishment cannot be priced.

I am told that people see colors in varying shades, but I see that too. His pocket square looks red but his watch band looks more orange than red. Notice the second hand on his new watch looks like the color of the watch band of the watch he arrived with. The rubies on the bezel have almost a burgundy/red tone. Then again, it could be the camera or filters, who knows.

Kevin, that is without a doubt one of the most beautiful watches I've seen. Wear it well.

just a rich guy with free time. The piece isn't that 'unique' in terms of what is actually possible design wise, and the red second hand looks terrible with the background of a watch movement and a bunch of metal...

Hey could anyone please help me figure out an issue I have 🙏 I have a white dial classic fusion and I’m not sure if it’s 42mm or 45 mm classic fusion. my strap broke where the screws are and I know the width of the holes are 26 mm however I’m not sure which model fits the 26 mm width band, is it the 42 mm or the 45? The red band works incredibly well with this watch. To some extent, the steel bracelet (even with such mild complexity) dilutes it a little. The pure red band focuses it.

As a watch geek and a Canadian, I feel an overwhelming sense of embarrassment for O’Leary and his ridiculous lack of humility and bad taste! I don’t care that he has the money to get AP to tart up a Royal Oak just for him, but why then turn the whole unboxing up to Maximum Gauche??? And seriously...WTF is up with the crying?!! Jesus, Man…have some self respect!!! But I do have a theory about those tears. I honestly think that when he saw the final product, despite claiming that he LOVED a the final resulting ‘matching’ red second hand, he was, in fact, horrified that the hand’s red hue was SO FAR REMOVED from the color of the surrounding rubies that if not for the cameras around him recording this insane display of douchiness, he would have slammed the box shut and demanded a do-over!!! That’s what caused the waterworks……..😂

While I truly understand, appreciate and even envy this moment, I also feel sorry for anyone whose priorities are so out of whack to induce tears of joy as if your first born was just placed in your hands. Again, beautiful, striking and worth every penny, but when you die, it means nothing. If you believe that there is nothing hereafter, then so be it and live it up. Otherwise, set your house in order and treasure what matters most. This watch matters, but only insomuch as you are alive to enjoy it. “….where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. I know, preachy words from a fellow watch enthusiast, but I had to say it. Come at me 😏

Congrats Kevin ! As a huge fan of AP as my favorite brand… just wanna remind you that you shouldn’t use the wording / branding of other brands… Overseas belongs to VC and not AP… 😊

Audemars are beautiful watches, and this one is no exception. However, I really feel the rubies in the bezel take away from the sleek, timeless design of the brushed metal octagonal bezel with screws. It's a clean design that is bastardized, and ends up looking like something more mundane such as a painted bezel Rolex Daytona, or jeweled bezel Rolex. Happy for him nonetheless, it's cool to see someone so passionate about anything.

1 I'm not sure if you love stainless like you love the strap but I would have added red in the notches of the stainless steel band to connect the bracelet together or asked if AP could make the AP on the band its self red on the stainless steel band. I'm not sure what AP would have allowed but if they let you create a watch 1of1 I'm sure they would have changed the AP logo on the band to RED or made each connecting notch RED as well!!
