The Warriors' 6 FOOT 9 Center Trayce Jackson-Davis Just Put The League On Notice

Спорт

The Warriors selected him at the end of the 2nd round, which makes him a steal by any other designation. If he's a man of his word, expect TJD to wreak havoc over the next few years.

    THUMBS DOWN HERE! ... First ... TJD had a 33" vertical at the recent NBA combine, not a 36" ... Secondly - and I take great exception to this - the headline here is just another misleading lie ... This headline implies that TJD did well in his summer league appearance when in fact the summer league games had not even began ... This VID was packed with theoretically BS for a player with so many shortcomings that he almost failed to be drafted ... WHAT BS! Here is the scouting I posted on FIELD OF 68 last month ... ----------------------------------------- THUMBS DOWN for the unjustified hype here for TJD ... Goodman's analysis of him only became more realistic in the 2nd half of this VID ... As an IU fan since the 70s, here's my scouting report on TJD having seen him play over 100x ... THE GOOD: 1) Gifted shot-blocker, averaged 3 blks PG and 71% of his blocks kept the ball in play ... 2) Good timing and very quick hands AT THE RIM on put-backs and tap-ins ... 3) Very reliable left hand low post game ... shot 70% going left ... 4) Better than average interior passer ... THE BAD 1) Average athlete (contrary to Goodman's take) ... can't run the floor ... 2) Cannot handle the ball in the open court or on wing UNDER PRESSURE ... not an option here ... 3) NO RIGHT-HAND game ... shot 33% going right ... 4) Poor shot selection when forced off of his left hand ... I saw him throw up many bricks this year ... 5) No face-up game beyond 10 ft... 6) Below average FT shooter - 67% ... 7) No outside shot ... cannot and never will be able to shoot 3s ... 8) Can't play multiple positions ... will have trouble guarding more athletic 3s and 4s on the wing ... 9) Has trouble passing out of late double-teams ... He is NOT a "do-it-all" player ... actually has a very limited offensive arsenal ... an inside-the-paint player only! A borderline first round pick ... should go between 30-34 ... saw one mock that put him at 54 and another at 25 ...

    3:14 Uhm that's incorrect. Warriors didn't ACQUIRE a 2nd round pick in that trade, they actually gave up a 2nd round 2027 pick AND a 1st 2030 pick in order to get Chris Paul. TJD was traded to Warriors by Washington, who had the 57th pick and just happened to be the same org they did the JP/CP 3 trade with, in exchange for PBJ. Warriors assistant GM Harris even said "we immediately got on the phones at 33 or 34 when we saw TJD hadnt been drafted yet, to find ANY deal with ANY team that would help us acquire him.

    The only thing that makes any sense about why TJD fell so far in the draft is that teams are concerned about his ability to make 3s. If he can end up hitting 35% of them, everyone will regret not drafting him. I just hope he gets enough playing time to prove himself.

    Having Jackson and Kuminga dominate the paint is the beginning of the formation of the next-gen Dubs. Once Curry, et als, are gone, the retooling of the team will be required and, apparently, the process has begun. There will never be a "Splash Brothers" guard tandem again, nor with a 6'7" forward who plays like a center be available. Wiggens will anchor the arch around the hoop and the J-K combo will provide the needed two-way play in the lane. There is no reason to doubt that the Dubs continuation of championship-level play will continue even as the roster and the character of the team changes.

  • @alasdairmacdonald9838
    @alasdairmacdonald983811 ай бұрын

    He's as polished a rookie as Kerr can ever hope to coach, but it's still no guarantee he'll get any meaningful minutes. Kerr is ruthless about his expectations, he will literally play 2 ways like Lamb and Ty or complete turds like Brad Wanamaker over young guys if he doesn't trust them. I hope they give him the time he needs even if some of his skills won't look as great at the NBA level. He was playing against smaller, slower less athletic and experienced players at college. He has good instincts but is also a thirsty shot blocker. He will have to learn more discipline in the league, his lack of shooting from even mid range will stop him seeing many meaningful minutes early I imagine. I just hope the Draymond, Looney disease doesn't infect him too badly. I love what both have done for the team on many levels but their total lack of offensive games really hamstrings the team and Kerr has mistakenly only deepened that problem by catering too much to his back court. Trayce best shot at seeing minutes is running pick and roll with CP3 in the second unit and crashing the boards as much as he can.

    It is hilarious to me how easily critics have given up on Wiseman. Dude was essentially drafted out of high school, considering he played about a week of college ball. Wiseman played 60 NBA games with the Warriors in 3 years due to injury. It is absolutely not fair to knock his lack of development. The Warriors never should have drafted Wiseman, if they weren't prepared to wait for his development. He WILL eventually be a 20/10 guy. As far as TJD, I love the pick, especially since they got him in the second round.

    If Mike DONLEAVY can't get the job done in getting a power forward that can play center at least a 6' 11" power forward and center and then bring in someone like Brook Lopez and possibly Drummond maybe both of them they would be unstoppable and will win another championship 🏆💍 I would trade Draymond Green for those two guys. Keeping Draymond, and trading Klay Thompson is the most redelicous thing Golden State can do. Steph, Klay, Wiggins, and Lopez with Drummond they can't go wrong.

    The NBA historically is very bad in drafting players. How in the hell do the indiana pacers who had three picks in the first round and one of those was the 7th overall pick. And they somehow don't draft cam whitmore or Tracy Jackson-davis. This is specifically why the pacers will never win a champion. Tracey Jackson davis was in your home state. The son of Dale davis. You are telling me Tracey's highlight reel aren't good enough to draft him in the first round by the indiana pacers. The NBA needs to do an investigation on the pacers to see if there were cocaine used in the pacers front office during the draft.

    @@jadendrysdale8864 I am aware of that. This is still a massive screw up by the organization. First off a guy with this much talent should be picked in the first round. The pacers had "THREE" first round pick in this draft 😳 . I think Trace would have been happy to be drafted in the first round. Because this man has lottery pick talent written all over him. Besides the reason he fell so far in the draft is only because he is not a good three point shooter. The pacers are the best team outside of warriors and kings for that. We have myles turner so he could have worked just fine playing down low. Or they could have drafted him anyway in the 2nd round like they were going to do. Paul pierce didn't want the Celtics to draft him and they did it any way and the rest is history.
