Dany's comment - "This is me; this is what I do... do you like it??" followed by a kind of nervous laugh. It always brings a tear to my eye. It's the quintessential question _every_ artist, of any artistic form of expression asks. And, at least in their case, the answer is a resounding "Hell Yes!!!" Now the hard part - the "follow-through". And at least thus far, they are killing it. Most definitely.

At 68, I'm a veteran listener to classical, jazz, rock, rock and roll, metal, punk, folk, a bit of country, blues, grunge, pop, and more. The brilliance of The Warning is that they are not afraid of anything! ANY thing. They will take what has been and what is, and make it into what it shall be, for THEM. I'm continually amazed at what they release. I have all three of their albums released to date. They are consistently excellent from start to finish. What amazes me is that they have this seriousness about them. Rock is not a genre that is often taken all that seriously. Traditionally, it is combined with huge measures of partying, the whole "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" ethos. But here are these three nice Catholic school girls from Mexico who just want to melt your hearts and faces with kind ferocity. It's magical. Now grown women, they are determined to take their music and their message to the world. I've said many times that I think they are the most important rock band of their generation, and I'm more and more convinced of this with each new release. I have *Keep Me Fed* on pre-order. Thanks for opening your eyes, heart, and mind to these special people.

@@emkayg612Band Maid and The Warning are two entirely different bands. The Warning are a phenomen...not only great musicians and personalities on social media...but they write rock music like no one has in decades. The Warning is in v a league all by itself and I've heard credit been given to them fir reviving rock...which I agree with 100 percent!. I checked out Band Maid because I would read a comment about them every now & then under a TW video. They are great players of their instruments, no doubt. But I never heard a song I really liked or that attracted me back. TW on the other hand through a hook in me a year ago...the first time, first song I ever heard...and their vocals, Pau's & Dany's...the vocal harmonies...matched with the songwriting...incredible. There's only a couple songs in their entire catalog of 60 songs or whatever that I'd choose to skip through.

Dany singing at 5:13, and you say, "I just got chills." Yes, the first time I watched this (before the song was released) I was blown away. I get blown away every time I hear it. The song is Amour from their Error album. I suggest you watch/react to their full Teatro Metropolitan concert from 2022 which is already absolutely legendary. It features every song from the Error album as well as some "classics". TWA will be here and watch every reaction with you. Thank you for reacting to Mayday in the Making in order. Mayday was an EP, six songs from the Error album with the full album released months later.

It's kind of funny - "Amour" is definitely NOT one of my favorite songs. I appreciate it as a "thought experiment" from Pau's kind of... interesting... brain, but I have zero emotional connection to it. HOWEVER... their actual *performance* of the song is spectacular. It's like what Rudy mentioned - "Do you even ever write a _bad_ song!?!" I'm sure they do that plenty of times... it's just that no one else ever hears them. And so "Amour" is a 50/50 split with me... probably more like 60/40, really - that is, the ratio of "play vs. skip" when it pops up on my play list. Even a tune I have no real "connection" with, I'll play more often than not... and that mere fact doesn't affect my objective opinion of the music and composition of the song - I still think it's excellent from any technical standpoint. Just doesn't vibe with my own personality, but it's not like everything has to. That's the joy of music!!

They really did the whole thing the smartest way possible. They turned down a lot of offers from big players like Disney and other producers that wanted them to play the teen band game and as Dany says they all wanted to change an aspect of who they were. They are so lucky to have had the support and vision to realize they could do it THEIR way. They said they were in negotiations for many months and while we don’t know all the details, they retained an almost unheard of degree of control that young people usually sign away. Their manager, Rudy, who did a lot of the talking here, is an amazing person to have on their side, he is a one of a kind too. I’m glad you enjoyed these docs. The little snippets you heard didn’t spoil anything for future reactions.

So much yes! They turned down some big names because they didn't want to sell out. I'll wait until she see's the TEDx to say more. But yeah, they kept full creative control. I am pretty sure that is why they do their own videos. They also kept their patreon, which is still exclusively theirs. I am pretty sure they kept the rights to their music as well.

@@tay13666 They share rights with Lava I believe for the Albums under contract, but they did maintain a significant independent monthly income stream and artistic autonomy. They do their own videos largely because they are very frugal and are aware of the things like back charging for equipment and studio artists, Lava never ever tried that as far as I know but from Pau we know that long negotiation was not all sugar and spice. Back in the day it was common for young band to do a solid debut album and emerge in debt to the label, working ridiculous tour schedules just to try and get back to even. The pressure destroyed a lot of young bands, it was the age of the one hit wonders for a reason. It was and probably still is a business that has plenty of sketchy people in it.

Having followed them since they were children, for many of us it's like they are extended family members. I have literally watched them grow up. These ladies are telling everybody to return to the basics, have fun, show power, rise words, be badass while enjoying the process. You can do all of that without losing yourself, because the love of music and the develop of strong bonds are first to them.

Simply put... if they are able to release their songs online before the label releases them then the message is clear... real team work and remaining in control and working WITH the label not FOR the label. Most people are aware of the evils of labels and how talent was used and abused. But a lot of people needed a label to get play and so were quick to sign. The sisters didn't "need" a label, they were "open" to the advantages of a label and so it was a good time for all sides and the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. Well done, worth coming back for more. David

You hit the nail on the head, they are born to do this. They perfectly suited, both physically and personality-wise, to their instruments. And their singing is so amazing because they are sisters. Their voices are similar enough to blend perfectly, but different enough to be distinct from each other. To say they are special is an understatement on a grand scale. They are musical prodigies working as a team. It is crazy to thing where they will be in 10 years. Multiple Platinum albums, Grammys and sold out world tours is my guess. As another reactor put it, they are undeniable! Future Legends. Fun Fact: Jason Flom (CEO Lava Records) is a legend in the industry. He was CEO of Atlantic Records, CEO of Capital Records. He discovered Paramore, Lorde, Greta Van Fleet, and in his earlier days, Twisted Sister among others. He saw them at Mercury Lounge in NYC and as he said, "his head exploded". He stayed for nearly the whole show (which NEVER happens with record execs. They can tell within a few songs if it's a yes or no), and made an appointment to meet them in his office, the next day. He knew right away that they are special.

Music and performing ARE their DNA. They are doing what they should be doing and are where they should be. But, they have never mentioned their talent. They always say hard work, practice, and sacrifice. But, to do all they did at ages 6,7,8, and instantly jump into other instruments aside from piano, really begins with talent, and then the rest was up to them.

Monica and Luis to me caught lightening in a bottle when they had these 3 gorgeous, talented, sweet, humble, kind, hardworking, and brilliant young ladies. This band is legitimately an anomaly in the world of Rock and Roll something we have never seen before. And what i mean by that is the fact that these girls started so young and become what they have become so far and produced the albums of music they have so far at such a young age, and not only that but to be humble, fearless, relentless and passionate about their craft at such a young age is nothing short of a miracle. And second and this is the biggest part, not only can they perfectly play their instruments and be in their rolls in the band, Dany - (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Paulina - (Lead and Backing Vocals, Drums), Ale - (Bass and backing vocals) but all three are not just good vocalists but they are Amazing singers and have amazing voices. What band out there does anyone know of where all members have extremely amazing voices and can all sing Lead Vocals for the band aside from playing their respective instruments. ill tell ya...NONE that i know of except The Warning. And i will say this, should the day come when Ale decides to sing Lead Vocals on a song on a record and sing it live, its going to change the game forever.

Good early morning, you knocked out the park again. 23 is a song I believe you'll enjoy. Paulina (Pau) is awesome singing, for a drummer to just do a backing vocal is difficult but she is the main lead singer in it. Dust to Dust is another song Pau is the main lead singer. It takes an immense amount of talent to pull off. Have a great rest of your week and keep up the great reactions.

Great comments! I'm 56 and up to 16 months ago, I too thought rock was dead until one night when watching Foo Fighter's videos, the KZread algorithm suggested Choke. My jaw hit the ground so hard I think I woke up the people who lived below me. Yes, they are reviving rock. Our generation, like you mentioned grew up with great rock and have dove into this band. If they can get their generation on board, they will be the biggest band in the world.

I am 67 and my wife of 45 years thinks there is something wrong with me - I am so obsessed. She didn't know me when I had the same obsession for David Bowie, Neil Young, and Alice Cooper (yes.. totally different music completely). I pretty much stopped listening to music 30 or so years ago - maybe a mostly 70's playlist during workouts (some Chili Peppers and Metallica mixed in). I can also thank The Warning for introducing me to Muse, Paramore, Hailstorm, and The Pretty Reckless. I love music again.

Mrs. R- thank you for this great vid. I was hooked on The Warning when I saw the VMAs. And I’m thoroughly engrossed with the Warning’s journey. This vid filled in some more historical info, but more importantly, showed me who the Warning is. The genuineness of the women; and the creative process. Thanks for telling me where you are in your journey. I just celebrated my 2nd 40th birthday and even at this age the energy, creativity, professionalism, and dedication to their craft (and your thoughtful comments) makes me a dedicated fan of the band. I’m also very impressed with you and have subscribed to learn your insights into the music industry. Thanks again for this.

Great that you checked out this documentary so early on, and you seem to pick up on The Warning immediately! For ages, my Top 2 favorite bands have been Radiohead and Muse, but I never did such a deep dive on either band as I have with The Warning. And I'm still a bit surprised that The Warning has dethroned both of those bands as my favorite... but the girls really have a way of winning people over.
