The War on History-and Why It Matters: A Conversation with Allen C. Guelzo

Make Sense of the Toppling of Statues with Award-Winning Historian Allen Guelzo
Cancel culture is coming for America’s past.
You’ve seen the statues torn down and schools renamed. But now it’s not just Confederate generals. Even Abraham Lincoln, widely considered America’s greatest president, has come under fire.
And the American Founders? Good luck trying to defend them these days.
How did we get here? When did American history turn into a tale of uninterrupted oppression? And how can you refute these radical accounts without whitewashing the past?
Here to answer these questions is eminent historian Allen C. Guelzo.
Professor Guelzo is one of the foremost experts on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. In this episode of *Conservative Conversations with ISI*, he gives you a balanced and informed view of history-the kind you don’t get from most academics or the media anymore.
And you will learn how to counter the escalating attacks on America’s past.
Recorded January 19, 2021.

Would love to hear about the rewriting of Civil War history by the losers. I think that any group that is on the losing end of society is prone to remembrances that can wander far from actual historical fact. I would add this group to your critique.

Well, the true losers were the blacks liked Fred erick Douglas, Douglas spent the rest of his life trying to get northern white Americans to accept the obvious fact that black Americans were what the 14th and 15th Amendments affirmed and contrary to Dred Scot, citizans of the United States. By 1900 it was obvious that he had failed.

James Madison to me was only concerned with minority rule for his class. I personally, only admire the thought of Benjamin Franklin for unlike the other founders he actually, put forethought into the future unlike the others who only cared for their present fears at the convention of 1787.

It seems that minority rule for his class, meaning landowners , is the the case today, the oligarchy composed of wjiote liberals who claim to be the champions of an emerging majority of the “non-white.:” .

I did 15 minutes. In my experience, if the intro states Freedom, Liberty, Conservatism, Heritage Foundation, the lies are soon to start. Oh well.

Whatever conservatives stand for these days, it certainly anything like consent of the governed, constitutional liberty or even economic liberty. They have a one person cult they follow.

You right-wingers would be on the side of the Confederacy, complaining that Lincoln was trying to cancel you.
