@@Uberkit It's better than just thinking Paramount will be chill, which I honestly think that they wouldn't since this is the same company that content ID claimed a video just TALKING about the Tripods because the video in question was a lore video about them and how they operate. If Paramount are going to abuse the copyright system on KZread just for that then you can bet that they would sue the fuck out of FlipSwitch Games because of it, and not care the slightest about the community surrounding the project in the process.

@@Thescoot101 It was more of talking about the 2006 version of the tripods and likely also including footage of the movie but how else are you going to talk about this specific type of tripod adaptation and NOT use the source material it's from.

If paramount allow Raf to use the movie models, I REALLY hope the custom model won’t go to waste. It’s such a unique and amazing and it would be disappointing if the model were to go to be thrown to the wayside

Hey Kit, Just wanted to let you know that Raf wasn't the one who made the movie accurate models, That was the reason I was brought on the team for and I made both the current tripod models. Feedback from patreon members and Raf was also not responsible for the design of the alternative model but my friend Local (who drew the concept for it) and me. You are my hero. I didn't know this movie had so many fans. How many nights have I dreamt of tripods? How many times have I walked outside on new year, when the fireworks happen, and imagined that Tripods come over the nearby hill? Surely this is madness. They'd shoot me or pick me up. But I love the tripods. If I had 3 wishes free, one of them would be to control a tripod, probably...

This new game will definitely revive War of The Worlds from the dead and more people will definitely get to know about it, like "Hello everybody my name is Markiplier and welcome to War of The Worlds"

You absolutely meat ride on this WOTW game

A lot of people are really hyped over the custom models, but honestly I find them really lacking and strange. If you want to redesign the 2005 Tripod, while keeping its scary yet graceful horror present, you have to keep its lifelike, biological like design. The custom design adds a lot of elements that go against that. The weird plates that cover the legs make it seem a lot less graceful and lifelike, the added complexity to the head design makes it look far more like a robot than the 2005 design, and I really don't like that they went for orange accents and lights, instead of something like purple. I do like the new head shape overall but its definetly a very middle of the pack design as far as tripods go, and I am really dumbfounded by the people that call it "better" than the og design. Also the Uberpod model for these custom Tripods literally has almost zero differences. It just has the spikes on the head that were present in the 05 version while the og ones do not. This is especially disappointing because this WOTG game project is really the first time we have seen an accurate Uberpod model from the film up close. I am also very much concerned by the amount of missing information around the model. Are all the new gameplay looks gonna feature the new model? Are the patreon builds gonna be switched to the new model without an option to use the old one? (Like Raf claims it will be on release)

The '05 model is such a perfect design. Sooo intimidating and alien! so I'm 1000% only using the paramount model :(

Yeah honestly, the backup is much better than the '05 tripod imo, and that's why I did a full replica of it

Id love a retro style dlc that shows the tripods with the camera style heat ray and 1800's arcitecture and costumes

They will still take this down, 1) profiting off the game is NOT the issue, its that Paramount have to be seen to protect their copywrite or they could potentially lose it, this applies to ANYTHING, not simply for profit works (Its also probably the the part most people do not understand) Universal once lost a lawsuit to Nintendo of all people, simply because they managed to argue that Donkey Kong wasnt a King Kong ripoff, all because of this basic issue, (its a bit more than that obviously ..but i am keeping it simple) 2) the designs that are STILL too similar part of copywrite law is that this game could potentially be confused for an official product For example i myself know the differences between the 05 designs and the new ones My freind however didnt (he kept asking me if they were the same as the film) It sucks, and i dont want it to happen, but thats how it is, hope this clears it up for some people

I've been having a question since I first saw how this game plays. I don't know if the developer can answer this, or if anyone with any insight can provide me an answer, but something I always wanted to know was how do the Tripods know not to attack a player that's not in their line of sight and hiding? Like, if you're peaking behind a window, how does the tripod know not to immediately kill you? Is there something in the game that has to happen specifically for the tripod to know that 'hey, I just saw a player hiding'.

Ive been seriously impressed by this game, and glad theyve tweaked the design away from the film version due to copyright. I'd rather have a good game without the film design than no game at all. The atmosphere really comes across well. How are sound FX covered? One slight change is perhaps the seagull noises as well. You don't get too many of them in the American wilderness, and perhaps better skins for the humans.

Imagine war of the worlds 2 happened with these models from 2005. Because its still unknown if all the aliens died in the movie and were their planet is. Wiki and pupbenny said the tripods from the movie didnt come from mars.

My pc was a custom made one from pcspecialist, I had it made in 2019 so it's a little out of date now. My monitor is a 2k curved 32inch samsung monitor but you really don't need that any high refresh rate monitor is great for gaming :)

I'm gonna say it, these new models look so damn good I am THRILLED they are added, they even did the original walk that Steven Spielberg LOVED but didn't go with Legit obsessed with it, may even use it more than the 2005

I think Raf and his team are better to use his own Tripod design, it's a very nice design, gives his game his own spin on the the war machines. I think his design is better than the 05 one personally, looks more alien to me.
