idk what version of minecraft you're using, but you could use an interaction entity instead of a villager for the win button to make the gun not kill it, but still kill other mobs

1.19.3, bit of an older version, however that still wouldnt have fixed the issue. an interaction entity is an entity, the gun was coded to kill any entity that wasnt a player. so it would have included interaction entities. Just a silly mistake on my end

@@C1OUS3R ah, if it was in 1.19.4 or 1.20 you could have used the damage command instead of /kill. it would make some entities unable to be killed, and it would only deal damage to the ones that you would want killed

@@OdinJrthesecond Thank you. Thankfully, the hurricane didn't hit my area nearly as hard as it was projected to.

The reason for weird asset names is because of a limit with the filesystem MS DOS has, it couldn't handle names longer than 8 characters, so whoever made the .WAD for doom may have been just used to the 8 character name format, or that might have been a limit with the .WAD format. So no they were not being edgy when they named their textures.

The Display Entities from 1.19.4 would have 100% made recreating E1M1 much easier for you since not only can you do some ridiculously wacky stuff like freely rotate, animate, resize and contort the Display Entity's model but it also doesn't cull like an item on an Armor Stand's head, at least in my experience using them.

10:59 - Not sure if you knew, but if you give an armor stand the NBT {Marker:1b}, it allows players to interact throught them, which can be quite helpful sometimes.

Rule 93: if it exists, it can run doom.

Vanilla Mapmaking is so cool and the little workarounds people do to implement stuff into the game. I love how youre making the process accessible to outsiders, keep it up

If you wanna make the deathmatching even more accurate to Doom, I know a few things The pistol does random damage. Thsi damage can be 5, 10, or 15. The bullet capacity is also 200, and increases to 400 when picking up a backpack. When starting an episode (or respawning in this case) you start with 50 bullets. If you end up wanting to add more weaponry, the chaingun is basically just a faster firing pistol. If you wanna recreate the shotgun, it shoots seven pellets in a horizontal line, each doing the same damage as the pistol bullets. Shotgun holds up to 50 shells, and 100 shells with a backpack.

This is incredibly amazing. The fact that someone has this much talent to create something like this almost not including any mods is just awesome. You are an awesome person. DEFINITELY deserves a like and a sub.

10h/day for 2 weeks... that sounds really fast honestly and I'm surprised you've made something so qualitative out of it. It's pretty good I'm not gonna lie. Sure you decided to not add certain aspects and you probably used some shortcuts here and there but that doesn't lessen the work you've put out. Respect.

2 of the best games combined. I love it. (It would be awesome if there was a glory kill mechanic like the remasters but it amazing either way)

You can give an armor stand the tag Marker:1 to make it not interactable with, so you don’t have to use a baby armor stand

The weird texture names for Doom comes from the fact that texture names in Doom are limited to 8 characters, meaning that textures needed to be given very shortened names.

Hey doom mapper here, there's a program called SLADE that allows you to cut open the original doom WAD files and export all the textures if you want It also shows prerendered maps of every single level.

Doom's source code is open and available to the public and modders have gotten doom running on a pregnancy test. If it has a screen and buttons then someone has gotten doom running on it

can confirm doomguy vs doomguy vs doomguy vs doomguy is very fun.

It is i think very much possible to lock the players camera without mods. It does require extra shaders but when paired with the datapack implementation of camera lock it'll work great without all of the jitter. I'm not if you can only have 1 axes of rotation locked but it's possible to lock both axes and force a specific camera angle. If you want example of this look at Gift for Allay or Be-boxed. Both very cool 2D maps
