The war is on: Turkish football is spiralling out of control

Спорт

The current divide in Turkish football is going a bit underreported in the media outside of the country, as the reaction from Trabzonspor to their 6-match stadium ban is a bit… odd. Trabzonspor is trying to play the evictim in this scenario after their own supporters stormed the pitch to attack Fenerbahçe’s players. Instead of admitting their wrong, they are trying to shift the focus onto how the Fenerbahçe players reacted to the pitch invasion, namely the likes of Mickey Batshuayi and Osayi Samuel.
On top of this, Fenerbahçe is considering leaving the Super Lig, with drastic measures voted on at a recent general assembly, while Trabzonspor are simultaneously demanding that the Turkish Football Federation directors all resign due to this “injustice” that was placed upon them.

    Well.... Trabzonspor would have won 2011-2012 season if it wasn't for match fixing by Fenerbahce officials. The Turkish FA decided to only hold the individuals involved responsible and not the club itself so Fenerbahce were allowed to keep their fraudulent championship. All chaos in the following years between FB and TS is a result of that. I'm not saying fans are right in invading the pitch or actions taken by board members of TS are correct, however there is a legitimate reason why TS and their fans deeply dislike FB. That is the injustice which started it all.

    0:53 Normally I don't comment this early. But why in the world would Fenerbahce be punished? Do Trabzonspor have no shame or self awareness? The incident was entirely due to the unruliness of THEIR fans. The Fenerbahce players were only reacting after an entire match of being pelted by debris and then having some fan rush them.

    It just feels like Trabzonspor would be completely fine with this happening again. I get that this level of hatred between supporters is just a reflection of underlying tensions, but that's what football is usually so good at, letting people express their frustrations through their support and letting the players fight the actual battle on the pitch. If you allow that separation to be broken it just turns into a riot and it's only a matter of time before someone dies.

(There were a lot more happened there with respect to the statement of the players) 3- Many Fenerbahce supporters were wearing Fenerbahce jerseys while voting in order to show their reaction to the current regime- and their extensions. In addition, participation of 30,000/45,000 members is very big success (maybe no another club can make it out) since it was a very short notice, a week day especially Ramadan day (majority were fasting). It would worth to be emphasized more. @@kieronparr3403 You are putting a *scandal* in the same bag with a *tragedy* . Indeed, two very different things. Also one happened domestically while the other happened on an away stadium. Also, tragically, people lost their lives in the other event. Nothing crazy happened last year during Galatasaray's Europa League run. Same with their CL run this year as well. And things were exceptionally peaceful during all of Fenerbahçe's matches in Conference League. So I'd say when it comes to Turkish teams, our track record in Europe has been fairly clean for the past 5-10 years. Don't see a reason for a ban over this on anybody but *maybe* Trabzonspor (thier fans are the problem anyways).

    There's no point in explaining what has happened without looking at the bigger picture which is "surprisingly" the politics of Erdogan & AKP who are trying to organize the league in their own terms since their reign began ___ Fenerbahce is a symbol of the secular "old" Turkey, and Erdogan doesn't like that. Just look at the Fenerbahce's total points in the last 15 years and compare them with GS and others. Funnily enough Fenerbahce has the most points but only 1 title ?? 6-7 years ago, again after another win at Trabzon the team bus was SHOT at on the highway with a rifle almost killing the driver along with all the players. I can count at least 10 events that are very similar to this one in the sense they all happened to Fenerbahce's title runs. So Fenerbahce's reaction is not based on this match alone. This match made this "unfair" competition just too obvious and that is the main reason for Fenerbahce's reaction. Just check out the highlights of the game to see how did it get to that end point. Oh btw did I mention bothTrabzon and Galata's favorite political party is AKP. hmmm 🤔

    Very good analyses. Fenerbahce president supported the protests against AKP during gezi park event. After that akp target him and try to manipulate the league against fenerbahce. For example if Başakşehir is the club pushing for the champion , then they support that team. Imagine a club has been champion and then can’t even compete for following years.

  • @yoeskalatoryo

    @yoeskalatoryo

    2 ай бұрын

    @@Lifeisnotfare I think the the separation of Fenerbahce from the Turkish league started way earlier than Gezi protests. In the mid to Late 90's early 2000's when the FETÖ organization were at their peak. During that time they were able to break into all the other major clubs. 90 percent of Galatasaray's squad were active members. And following Galatasaray, in Beşiktaş Y. Demirören was appointed as the president of the club in 2004 (just before his home run to buy all of the secular media outlets to support Erdoğan and AKP). So Fenerbahce back then (and I'm honored to say still) was the only unpenetrable club due to its strong bond with secular side of Turkey and Atatürk. After these failed attempts slowly the league began to take the form of Fenerbahce against everyone since whoever was in a competition against Fenerbahce for the title they were backed up by "unseen" forces while Fenerbahce was tagged as the losers of these title runs. What happened in Trabzon happened almost 5-6 times in the last 20 years whenever it was "necessary".

    Another word for Trabzonspor. Trabzon (the city) has been a breeding ground for extreme nationalists and deep government actors (counter-guerilla people) since the early days of Republic, due to its unique position as the official capital of Pontus- Greek kingdom. (there are still old villages where people speak a mixture of turkish and greek and no-one would like to remind this fact to the locals especially in the early days of Nation-State building). Turkish nationalism has always been high on paranoia and because of this paranoia (like most other nationalists in other countries) Trabzon became almost like a "barracks" for deep government actors whom did their parts whenever the situation needed them and not just in football but in other areas as well. And they were always pardoned for whatever they did. I was hoping that the lad who did the video would also mention the "bus shooting incident" that happened 7-8 years ago ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaRsxaeBhZnJpdI.html ) which surprisingly right during another title run and a win against Trabzonspor on their home ground. No-one got arrested. (here you can watch how the suspects were treated: kzread.info/dash/bejne/equmxMaop8ioqqw.html ) Whole Fenerbahce team was devastated and with that morale Fenerbahce "surprisingly" lost another title run.

That being said, I’d love to hear your opinion of clubs like PSG and City. While they have certainly spent huge sums over the years that they may/may not have earned, it’s in comparison to clubs that had (in my opinion) had already made football uncompetitive (RM, Bayern, Barca, etc). I’m especially curious about this considering Newcastles acquisition combined with similar lack of competition in the premiership (City vs Liverpool every year). Thanks for the content man! About a week after the announcement of the penalties, the football federation's delegates began collecting signatures for an extraordinary session. The aim was to change the federation with an early election. Guess which teams did not participate in this action, which was signed by almost half of the teams in the leagues? Trabzon and Gala.. In fact, Gala recently made statements supporting the federation, and they change their statements every month. Unfortunately, like the federation management and some teams, these two teams are under the control of political will. This creates an unfair competitive order.

    Long story short. We call Trabzonspor in Turkey the little brother of Gaylatasaray. When you look to the table you see, only 2 points are between those 2 teams and Trabzonspor was only team to beat Fenerbahce this year. This Trabzons bstrds, played for Gaylatasaray, to make them champions, thats the whole thing but they would never say that. It all was organized, the masked man werent controlled by the security means even the state or the gouverneur was involved in this. They see Fenerbahce and their President as a threat to their AKP dynasty but surprise. After the election lose somethings may change, they re trying to get more fair and since this week we have foreign VAR refrees from the top 5 leagues. I hope they will stop now hating on Fenerbahce only for the reason they are mostly supporting the Opposition in Turkey and Gaylatasaray and Trabzonspor or Basaksehir are good in licking azzez of the ruling party and gouvernment. They are a shame for football and in my oppinion UEFA should bann these both teams for beeing so unfair towards Fenerbahce since 20 years.

    People here seem to forget that fenerbahce stole a championship from Trabzon in 2010/11 via match fixing for which fener got banned from CL and EL for 2 years, by the UEFA. fener never got a penalty from the turkish football association , in the contrary they even said that fener is innocent, whilst the UEFA pushed the turkish football association to be judged accordingly. There are many other reasons why fener is hated in turkish football, as a spectator of all big leagues, there is no comparison to the things fener did and done. - since Galatasaray won the 4th star, fener either comes with no stars on their jerseys (officially they have 3) or they wear jerseys with 5 stars (they even made a request to the association to count their championships from the middle ages [before the super league was created] so they can wear 5 stars officially - as said they still have the stolen trophy of trabzon and are not ashamed - they did match fixing - their president is the spoiled son of of the richest turkish family - they constantly accuse others of being terrorists (FETÖ) supporters and mix politica into sports - they tried to prevent Galatasarays championship in 2012 with a out of nothing system like in belgium, where the top4 play a super final, they introduced this when Gala had secured the championship late in the season - after Galas victory in the UEFA league in 2000, there former president said "we cant reach Galas level anymore, so we should try to pull them down to ours" That is not even everything, just watch feners games for 2-3 weeks and you will understand. Fener is the least one, that has the right to cry, yet the cry the loudest and added another scandal to their list.

    Deluded people are trying to make Trabzonspor look pathetic but only know a fraction about what is going on. First since when is it normal to kick on the head when he is held down by the guards especially when you are a pro football player. Also everyone knows how hostile it is between the 2 clubs especially since 2010/11 when Fenerbahçe became champion champions with match fixing and stole Trabzonspors championship. Knowing all of this while there is many more examples like back to 90's, the players of Fenerbahçe were mocking the fans and talking shit the whole match and then labeling our fans as terrorists when in 2012 fener fans burned police cars and also attacked the police directly. Who is the terrorist again? Oh and also a few days ago a group of Fenerbahçe fans attacked a father and daughter because they support galatasaray. And even one of them pulled out a knife! While all comentators and media outlets said that the Trabzonspor fans were storming the field with knifes and stuff when there actually us no one with any knife. Fenerbahçe is a club that accepts injustice as its own right.
