I have a copy of The Wanderers. It's one of my favorite movies. I watch it every couple months. The movie took place at a time that was just before me.

Interestingly, I have never seen the Movie. I will probably try to watch it. It was originally a book by Richard Price who ended up becoming a Screen Writer and wrote many other Novels as well. Blood Brothers was very similar and also written by Richard Price.

Wow....Ken Wahl was 22 in 1979 and now he's 40? Who the hell did the math on this? Nearly every age is incorrect.

This was such a great movie. I watched it again three weeks ago. I shared a story with my wife about this movie. The scene in the bowling alley was one of my favorites. I used to bowl league in that alley when I was younger. That bowling alley was in Queens, NY. I don't know if it's still there? I moved out of Queens in 1990. Good times and a good movie!

Theres always a debate on which is better "The Wanderers" or "The Warriors" i always say The Wanderers

Great cast of then unknown young actors. Surprised that a lot more of the movie's cast members didn't go on to have bigger careers. Also, a great soundtrack to accompany Phillip Kaufman's excellent adaptation of Richard Price's semi-autobiographical novel by the same title. I highly recommend seeing "The Wanderers" at least once while you're still alive, you won't be disappointed.

This movie is one of my favorites. One of the most memorable moments ever in a movie, was the scene that the people heard the news that JFK died. Rain, everyone's crying, Stand by me/Ben E. King playing, the chapel. Goosebumps.

Probably the only 'recent' photo of Ken Wahl the poster could find. There's not many (if any) of Ken Wahl in later years, as the guy is now a total recluse. He retired from acting in 1996.

For me, this is and always will be the ultimate teen movie. At the time, there were a few others that came close, but this is the one. Thanks to cast and crew for making it. Dont F..k with the Wongs!

The wanderers then and now cast rip linda manz 1961 -2020 who played peewee . And rip erland van lidth 1953-1987 who played terror 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻excellent soundtrack to the wanderers

@@57highland- I have never seen the Film, but I should try to watch it. I read the book a number of years back in the 20th Century Century more like the 1970's. He taught Creatvie Writing in College based up The two books he wrote at the time- Blood Brothers and the WAnderes. He leftg onece he started becoming a big Novelist and Screen Writer. I read the Novel in the 1970's- I don't remember the Novel being about Civil Rights and Black People.

@@HoldenNY22 Well, for example, in the movie Despi is Richie's girlfriend. In the book, it's Buddy who's her boyfriend and Buddy who gets her pregnant. And Chubby Galasso is Despi's father. In the book her father is "Al Carabella." In the movie, Turkey is the person who ends up getting killed by the Ducky Boys. In the book it's "Sloop", one of the Baldies, and Turkey isn't even in the Wanderers. He's like a geeky outsider who's allowed to come to Wanderers parties. And Perry and Joey go to California when they leave the Bronx. In the book, they go to Boston and join the Merchant Marine. Those are some of the differences.

Awesome movie back in the day, a great coming of age film. Hey..Big Stars, you had Ken Wahl at current age of 40 years old lol..I know it was a mistake but I thought it was funny anyway in a good way..I still wish I was 40..lol

i noticed especially in the last videos here that the obese actors are very prone for heart disease and dying at a young age..john candy, blues brother(s), the big guy here..second big factor are drugs must be a very hard business as a famous actor apparently 🙄🙄

Didn't know that was Ken Foree as the black gangster.

brother was a wrestler for Eastern Michigan he knew the guy who played terror he was a wrestler can't remember what state but they were friends my brother said one time the guy that played terror got in an argument and started throwing chairs around the cafeteria at a college that they were wrestling at he was chasing a guy all around the cafeteria and was throwing chairs out of the way to get to him
