@RickGrimes_TV And how are they going to get home if Beale is still in power? Rick's kids are getting older they needed Rick to reunite with them otherwise they would have to make Rick be gone longer and miss their childhood. It's not like they wiped out the whole CRM. I can understand if it's a let down if you wanted the cross over spinoff but Dead City's timeline already ruined that to begin with.

@@TheRealRickGrimesthe problem isn’t what happened. Even the timeline of it is fine. It’s that it happened way too fast on screen in the last bit of this episode specifically. For me it’s that they set up bombs in a really convoluted way with no one noticing anything, Rick leaving his hand for no reason when it is a valuable weapon, not even having guns in case they get caught like they did, Thorne randomly changing her mind about everything as she’s dying with 0 build up, surviving the explosion so close, Rick getting swarmed with nothing on him, the writing and dialogue about “love” was just cheesy and bad. RJ had horrible acting and dialogue. All the episodes before this proved they can make it good so idk why it went down so quick

Rick can now just live in Alexanderia or the Commonweath. There's no pressure on him, no need for him to be the leader, others have stepped into that role, he can just be a dad and husband and live in peace.

The whole idea of the series was not the CRM. It was Rick and Michonne's love story and return home. The CRM was never going to be the plot point that the show relied on. They wove in what would be the downfall of this branch of the military the whole season so that way you could see how they would make it out. That less than 10% of the military is actually corrupt meaning everyone freaking out about how massive this threat was is missing the picture. Only a small portion of the infantry was a danger and they (Rick and Michonne) handled that. He only killed 3,000 the small less than 10% was corrupt. The CRM still exists they just handed power over to the republic like they always were supposed too.I think along the way people missed what this story was supposed to be and thats why you may feel disappointed. I loved it and love that Andy and Danai came back to give their characters the peace they deserved.

I think if you take the perspective that the show serves the purpose of telling Rick and Michonne’s love story and them getting home to their children, it’s going to be paced perfectly. If you take the perspective that this show was meant to be some giant culmination of the entire universe because they’ve been teasing the CRM for seven years, you’re going to be disappointed. And to some extent I understand that disappointment. This was always just about Rick and Michonne getting home though. And to me, it delivered

And you can tell AMC wanted this story to be more of an epic conclusion when they were developing this as a trilogy of movies. But I like the miniseries scope. Maybe it should’ve had another episode between 3 and 4 to flesh out the CRM more, but it never overstayed its welcome.

I loved this finale! In terms of plot pacing i understand why people think it was rushed because in that sense it was. But realistically to reality, it was right on time. Michonne and Rick as people didnt need 3 episodes to take down the crm. They needed 40 minutes, thats how it should be because its them. This show is an epic love story (people seem to forget this). The whole point was for them to reunite and then go back to their kids which they did. It wasnt a show about the CRM, it was about Rick and Michonne. And their story wasnt rushed AT ALL. It was perfectly paced. We got the happy ending. And i loved how they didnt destroy the whole CRM, just the bit that mattered. Realistically, it wasnt that hard if you think about what they had to do to end that one location with all the bad in it. It was perfect. The reunion had me sobbing. Seeing them with their kids has me in shock still

For the people who saying it was rushed are speaking out their ass, there’s a difference between “rushed” and “fast pacing” These people aren’t directors or movie critics, they don’t give valid criticism to explain why it was “rushed” Shit just pops off quick, that was the plan to get in, infiltrate and set the bomb and leave.

Well I mean they do still need a military, it is an apocalypse of course (either walkers or other hostile groups). But what they don't need are the evil higher ups controlling the military. I personally loved it. As you said they don't need multiple episodes to bring them down only to give us a weak ending. Two people who are in sync and know how the other operates should be able to accomplish a lot in 45 minutes and they did just that.

I think what people don't realise is that killing Beale wasn't part of the original plan on rick's part. You can see him deciding in that moment that Beale needs to die. After he killed him, he sat there wondering for a bit what he had done and how to improvise from here. Same as Michonne, her mission was just to find the dossier and destroy it. She did. She was about to go out into the woods to wait for Rick, then she decided that she couldn't just let this go so she went back. It felt rushed because IT IS a rushed plan! An almost impossible, impromptu plan only made easy because of the bombs, and the tent being in middle of it all, AND how strategic Rick and Michonne are where people tend to forget! I don't know why people can't see that? Those who are not satisfied with how the 10% of the CRM ended or that CRM wasn't developed well in this show, clearly did not watch or forget that World Beyond is where CRM was shown significantly in the storyline. TOWL is just an extra tidbits showing the lengths they'd do to the world with their beliefs and that's it. It was never intended to be explored more.

  • @CosmicAether

I honestly don't get why some people don't like the ending. They say that Rick and Michonne taking out the CRM doesn't make sense which is funny because 90% of the CRM Military don't know what the other 10% do and Rick and Michonne killed that 10% in this episode. Its almost like those people didn't pay attention to the story. If I'm not mistaken Gimple did say that he wants to do a show that has everyone reuniting.

I liked the finale a lot, there was no wasted time and I like that instead of having them in an unrealistic gunfight between an army and them, they actually played it smart and did something that’s actually believable as to how they’re able to take out a big army I like that the CRM isn’t completely gone so it can come back round eventually but after all the years of build up, it was cool to see a lot of it throughout this series and of course not everyone in it was evil. And then it does mean that they haven’t just magically gotten rid of it altogether And I especially love that despite everything, the story was solely focused on Rick and Michonne and the character writing throughout was consistently solid It didn’t feel the need to be flashy and have unnecessary action And it’s closed Rick and Michonne story beautifully, of course if they decide too they can come back but if they decide to keep it as their last series, then that’s also okay because it’s been wrapped up in such a nice way. It would be nice to at least see him and Daryl reunite at the end of his show maybe I was glad with the fact they got rid of Thorne and Beale, sometimes the villains time is best been cut short, Terry O’Quinn perfectly played the character and had just the right impact before he was killed, that impact may have gotten lost had he been around for a while longer

I loved it and so happy Rick finally made it home to his kids. I get why people think it felt rushed and it was crammed into 6 episodes. I think Beale and the CRM served their purpose for this story. CRM is still out there and so is Beale’s son! I would’ve been pissed if they killed Rick or Michonne or if they didn’t make it home.

Walking Dead The Ones Who Live had the perfect finale, we got a trip down memory lane, seeing glimpses of all the events over the years, plus I felt they wrapped the CRM arc perfectly, the group was too a big of a threat to be left operational by Rick and Michonne. The reunion when Rick, and Michonne reunited with Judith, and RJ was beautiful and so emotional, the perfect end to the series.

I loved this episode and season/series. The only people disappointed had to be those not paying attention; the plot of the series is Rick and Michonne's love. The CRM was secondary. It wasn't about Beale, the echelon briefing or anything other than Rick and Michonne's relationship. The fact that they reunited with one another and returned to their kids is awesome.

I don't see the rushed aspect - it had no flab. It's just their story, no ancillary characters save the ones who served as plot device. Would we have wanted ten, maybe 12 eps? sure, but I'm personally happy with 6 well crafted, succinct and brisk episodes that set out to do what they proposed. One of the best series of tv since the bear for me. Thanks as ever for your real and moving reactions. You're both awesome, thanks for sharing this journey with us.

They could’ve shown a lot more of the CRM, done a lot more with the CRM and instead of having Rick and Michonne separated for the last 3 episodes, really invigorate with the CRM and send Rick out on missions where communities are getting wiped out. They ended the CRM by simply blowing them up. I liked the episode but there’s so much missed opportunity here. They could’ve had ties with the origins of the virus, made PPP something to do with the cure or international relations but no, the only point of CRM was to be the top dogs and a simple boom destroyed them and their plans of achieving that. Overall, I’m satisfied with how this all ended but it’s rushed as hell and had so many missed opportunities

I love the differences and similarities to when Rick had that sit down with the Governor. They talked and Rick tried to reason and be peaceful and let it be but it didn’t end well. It was definitely rushed, but I still think it was a good finale. I'm glad they didn't magically end the WHOLE of the CRM, it was just the cascadia base.. I'm excited to see more of the CRM in the upcoming spinoffs. I'm really happy with how the show started & ended, was it perfect? No, but it was great. I do wish Beale survived though and was the 'big bad' of the CRM, but that's not the case.. sadly.

Mason Beale wasn't interested in the military but even if he changed his mind, he’s too young to lead and it’d take years for that to happened. 3. It seems like World Beyond became too irrelevant that they never mentioned what happened to Silas (whom Jadis took under her wing) or the other group of kids that arrived to Portland to warn them about the CRM’s intentions.

That’s their problem. Y’all can get an entire meal and nitpick about a couple of peas if you want. And it had action and worldbuilding for those of us marginally familiar with the flagship show. Writing, Acting, Directing. All On Point, and if this show doesn’t get some love during the upcoming award season, pitchforks and torches, and maybe some screamsticks will be in order.
