    Exactly. If Rick and Michonne knew that Alexandria was already destroyed and our group had moved, then Rick wouldn't hesitate to leave. People who don't want to ever see Rick broken lack empathy, imo. Like, dang, IRL, people are broken by ONE tragedy -- and it doesn't even have to be a death. Think about all the bodies on bodies on bodies on bodies that these characters have seen, including close family members and friends, people who helped him and helped save his life over and over. Why TF would he never break? Why are people wanting a generic emotionless protagonist when it doesn't make sense??? If they did that with Rick, it'd be BAD writing! Characters have arcs, they have highs and lows, and navigating that correctly is both difficult and necessary for good writing. He's a man, not a mindless puppet. Seriously.

    Exactly. If they want a 1 dimensional action hero that just fights and then roll credits they need to stick to cartoons. Rick was “broken” or out of his mind in every season of TWD. The “I miss badass Rick” criticism is always confusing because he’s never been consistently stable. He almost killed himself (S1), he snapped and went “Rcktatorship” after killing Shane (S2), he spiraled after Lori’s death (S3), he almost died & barely held it together after Hershel’s death/the prison collapse/biting the guy’s neck out (S4), he was losing his mind starving & being outside of a community (S5), he took on an entire horde by himself bc of grief when Carl was shot (S6), he was broken by Negan (S7), he was still broken by Negan/Carl’s death (S8), he “died’ (S9). There’s a point where he is either teetering on the edge of a breakdown or hallucinating every season. 😂

    Yes, because he realized Carl and Michonne was and is his only reason for living. Those were the only two two people that kept him going while in the CRM. When he lost dem mentally, he gave up because he no longer had a reason to keep on goin. He found a way to "die and keep on living" - getting her bk only intensify his trauma, hence the reason he's afraid to go back to his old life. He's afraid to go through the hurt and pain of losing her again. Telling him about his son made it worst - because now he can lose her and their son + Jude. He's really got a lot to lose

    My theory is that it is Jadis is the one who is tracking them and has them held at gun point. In the trailer we see Jadis pointing her gun at someone and in the preview when Rick and Michonne jump out of the car, the setting seems to match Jadis' background. I think somehow they learn Jadis was lying about leaving a file and so Michonne is lying in order for Jadis to drop her guard so that they can k*ll her.

    Negan & Maggie left with a big time jump, so maybe they'll already know about Rick in season 2 of Dead City, maybe Carol will tell Daryl of his return as well in season 2 of Daryl Dixon. But they wouldn't just introduce us to the CRM army and Thorne etc, Jadis is most likely going to bring them back, as we saw in the trailer, Jadis is in some car chase with Rick & Michonne. There has to be a Civil War or something to change it as Okafor said. Leaving CRM to go home could just risk war later on.

    I don’t get complaining about them not immediately leaving the building. They got out safe and sound and with time to spare, didn’t they? They’re still trying to tell a good story with all the drama and romance that these two have missed for the eight years they were away from each other. If the characters did what fans think they should do, the episodes would be ten minutes long.

  • @MovieFusion

    @MovieFusion

    It was a very minor complaint. Didn’t ruin any bit of the episode for me. Of course they got out fine, but they had no idea when that building would actually come down. I just thought they would’ve likely gotten out sooner, just logically speaking. And I don’t agree at all with that last sentence. You can still have the same amount of drama and conflict while still making the characters do more logical things. The actual conflict here is quite amazingly written as is. It’s actually uncertain what they should do.

    Some people don't like strong men being broken and those are usually the same people who can't tolerate women being strong. It's an interesting dynamic, as though, for those people, humans can't be complex. If any man has ever earned breaking down at times, it's Rick Grimes. He's battled through so much loss, through so much intense trauma. He's not a superhuman being. He's just a very strong human being and strong people sometimes break, but that doesn't mean they're incapable of building themselves back up again, especially when they have people around them who they love and who love them. Thank you for understanding this, young man.

    I find it crazy that the biggest complaint that people have about this show is Rick being a broken man. I mean, people, you can't expect a badass character like Rick to be perfect all the time with a headstrong, focused mentality with no room for other emotions. That just makes a character pretty bland/boring imo, and even the strongest, bravest, or coolest characters on any movie/tv show must have some moment of brokenness so that we can empathize with that character. That brokenness is what's fundamental for effective character growth/development, and without it, 'that's just lazy writing'. And that's what we are rarely seeing in recent movies/shows such as Marvel. Ik other people will be commenting on the same thing like me, but I just wanted to say my take.

    This episode was phenomenally good ❤ I haven’t fingers crossed for a Rick/Morgan reunion and also I am hoping we get an Alexandria homecoming! Ross Marquand has yet to change his beard or haircut since TWD ended 👀 so is it weird to hope we see him in the last episode?

    That song was from the 70s, following the Vietnam war. Tie A Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak Tree...it was for soldiers coming home and their wives and girlfriends tied yellow ribbons on trees at their house IF they wanted to welcome their men home.

    they skipped over some discussion because you saw out the window it went from dark to light or light to dark so that's disappointing that we might of missed a lot of reactions to news Rick hasn't heard yet, the fight scene's were really good, i like seeing them using shields, and cool seeing Michonne using bo staff type weapons since she mentioned it, i wonder if bo staff training and Katana training are interchangeable because where could she have learned that from, the spicy scenes weren't spicy enough it was too dark and tame so hope there is a bit more time for that, a shower scene would of suited better because they had running water and a chance to use it

    I just want to point out. I think this whole thing was a big metaphor. Could just be me overthinking. But the fact they were in that first room arguing and broken over eachother. To then fight and bickering in the hallway to then ANOTHER room where they reconciled and talked it out. Just felt like one big metaphor to me and it was so beautiful.

    What Rick and Michonne should do is get the help of Portland, Alexandria, Hilltop, Ezekiel and what remains of his people, Oceanside, the Commonwealth once they learn of them, the main characters from World Beyond, and look for other good communities to join them in their fight against the CRM oh yeah and they also should look for any Army Bases/Military Bases and Police Stations that might not have been looted and take any and all weapons, vehicles, explosives, and ammunition that they could get their hands on to use against the CRM oh yeah and Michonne could also teach Rick about the Whisperer Walker mask tactics so they could use that against the CRM oh yeah and r.i.p. Roomba it cleaned and cleaned and cleaned until the very end

    I wasn't loving Rick, but not because he was broken, but because it was not making any sense. You cut your hand, almost killed yourself, and now that she's here, you are okay with letting her leave through a letter and never seeing her again? NAH. I called bullshit, and i am GLAD we had this episode and it actually explains it. Because just continuing that narrative didn't make any sense, and I am glad it was on purpose.

    I think that they will have a new series after Daryl spinoff because is not way we get everything in only 2 episode left. So i think 2 things ,1 is when Carol told Daryl someone came back is or Michonne alone because Rick had to stay to end the CRM and get help from the old group or its rick that Carol said is back because Michonne died and she made Rick promise before she died to go back and save the kids. But one thing is sure is if no season 2 it will be a new series that will reunite everyone and have a final battle against the CRM.

    I’m watching all these spin-offs because of the characters, *Darly* , *Michonne* and *Maggie* are my top 10 favorite characters. But this whole season’s figure to have an a**hole wanting to rule, kill... Already tired! I wanted to return the real threat, the living walkers. Maybe a scientist wanting to find the cure, made a new virus that would make the Walkers faster, violent, resistant... rather than "good people" Vs "crazy leaders".
