Yeah, never really understood how people who have survived 10+ years into this would still make the mistake of standing their ground and firing when they could just as easily run 30 yards back and shoot from a safe distance, then repeat when the walkers start to get close.

Haha, only Imperial stormtroopers are so precise.

First they crash a jeep on an open plaine, after driving close to the zombies for no reason when they have LMGs on the vehicles and Assault Rifles, which could easily engage the zombies at 200+ meters, one soldier also decide to stand his ground against slow walking zombies, not falling back which even an untrained soldier would do, just to die for no reason at all, clearly the writers just wanted to kill a soldier for the stun value, but failed to tie the writing with anything close to reality.

As always I'm going to try to play defense for a really stupid scenario the soldiers are using 30 plus year old military grade Jeeps that more than likely have been in a lot of weathering the soldiers themselves aren't the US military they're more likely trained militia as for that one stupid scene where is trying to rescue a guy who's clearly dead and being ripped apart let's just chalk that down to beat him being a military leader caring about his men and for those complaining about the armor and how it looks like Stormtroopers or clone troopers all I can say is it's very cool it looks cool and to be honest if they don't really need any camouflage the walkers rely mostly on sound and the armor is supposed to protect them in a hard shell that will reduce or at the very least prevent them from being scratched or bit however unfortunately as we can see here we can still be torn apart

I guess people were right, that armour did nothing against walkers. How the walkers have such superhuman strength they can rip a person's legs from their torso, especially if the zombies are rotting corpses themselves?

So I guess they have no air support or artillery, but they have machine guns and an open field - a combination that has been stopping enemy foot troops cold since 1914. Yeah, maybe only headshots kill zombies, but I bet a few rounds through the legs slow them down so you’re more likely to get a headshot later. Just keep firing from a distance and moving back. There’s no reason anyone should be within 250 yards (2.5 football fields!) of the zombies at any time, let alone driving slowly right past them.

That is a scene that would make me quit the show. Not for the horror, but for the B-level ludicrousness. 1. They had guns but were at close range. 2. The zombies shambled slower than a walk, but a guy let himself get grabbed. 3. The officer and his vehicle stayed immobile while a big mob was literally two steps away, but the zombies didn’t swarm him, too. 4. No one in the vehicle head-shotted the zombies holding the one guy despite being two steps away. 5. The officer didn’t put a bullet in that poor sob’s head when his body started coming apart. I swear, Disney stormtroopers would’ve handled that better. …Probably.

1 he could have just taken several steps back, 2 the moment he was grabbed by the walkers he's a dead man walking so they might as well leave him instead of trying to save him

I mentioned in a previous comment that the soldier on the left side was backing up more than the other guy, judging by the position where he landed he must’ve been the driver and probably the only soldier in the Commonwealth that actually has some decent training. He’s backing up and shooting Like someone would doing a situation like that and he knows that there’s a vehicle coming so he’s gonna keep going back until the vehicle close to him or until it pulls right in front of the other soldier panic he says no when he grabbed the walkers And there’s also another thing that his gun could’ve been jammed because I’ve heard what those gun sound like in the show. They have a consistent sound. He must’ve been panicked and realize the gun was jamming. He kept thinking he was shooting.

I don’t watch The Walking Dead myself so I was confused when I saw the armor. I confused them with First Order Stormtroopers or the recent Night Troopers from Ahsoka. Like damn, the First Order would do SOOOOOO much better against the zombies than this lol. Or better yet, if you’re part of the Night Troopers, you could BE the zombies. (Kinda; you’d be resurrected as functioning zombie soldiers.)

Glad I stopped TWD after s3. Even back then it jumped the shark but seing these idiotic costumes and plot lines really shows how clueless the scriptwriters are with this show. My walking dead show would be starting a cement company , building walls and enjoy a peacefullife after that 😂

One of the stupidest TV series ever produced.. It's only famous for the characters.. But the cardboard armor makes you laugh, and the soldiers killed by zombies walking at 1km/h make you laughing.

So you have fully automatic weapons, probably millions of rounds of ammunition and you can’t kill off zombies that move at the pace of a senior citizen using a walker? I’m pretty sure you’d be able to kill off ALL of the zombies in the entire US within a month or two without breaking a sweat.

Ok first of all, that soldier is dumb asf for just staying in that stationary position when he is perfectly able to run a few meters away and continue shooting not to mention the bayonet on his rifle for CQC, legit just slash/stab a walker in the head and move on, second of all, instead of trying to pull him into the jeep they could've just stabbed/shot the walkers that were holding onto him... but I guess TWD gave up logic when the Military failed to contain the outbreak

in the comics and the show its shown that these soldiers get little to no actuall outside combat training they only get basic CQC training with chained up walkers not roaming free ones most never saw a herd hence there suckyness of fighting them but still its stupid to have them as a army if they cant fight a dead guy

0:50 this soldier knew exactly what to do. He was backing up and firing and knew that there was a clear area right behind him because you can see him look back as far as the other guy goes. He stood there panic. He only took a few shots here and there, but in the end, he became a snack for the living dead I wonder if there’s behind-the-scenes footage of this particular scene because the way the guy screams is brutal especially when they start opening them you can just imagine his face as a little sidenote, after watching this multiple times, I seen the spot where he was being scratched and torn it and I’ve come up with my own little theory. Most of the commonwealth soldiers has a lot of straps to it and there’s a strap on the backside of the troopers arm you may notice that the chest armor is been lifted. I’m thinking during the panic, one of the walkers clipped that part of his chest armor, exposing his lower back and that’s why he got scratched up and torn there and we’ve all walkers tear clothes apart to get to the victim and this is no different this time. They just had to work a little bit more to get their food, but the Commonwealth soldiers had a bit more training that soldier won’t ended up as a walker snack
