As a former Volvo employee...can you confirm for me that the first 2 door Amazon (122S as we know them) came out in 1965? At least over here in the USA, the 2 door and 5 door came out in '65.

@John Daley 740/940 comes with the same redblock 165hp turbo engine, but the later model 940 comes with the stronger diff and M90 gearbox. I prefer the more classic look of the 240 but the 740/940 has a more boxy and raw look.

Fun fact, Volvo used to have a factory in Nova Scotia and they built some of these cars there. They came with limited slip diffs from that factory along with a few other differences.

I have a 1970 Volvo 145s (wagon) and same story didn't know anything thing about the car till i bought it. old Volvo's need to get some more love, they are such good cars.

YES!! this has always been a dream build. Find one in a barn for cheap, and LS swap it.

Going by dates this might actually be US's original LOLvo 👍 There are still quite a few of these on the road here in Switzerland, as they were ubiquitous police cars until the '80s. Mostly modern Volvo turbo i5 swaps. But this is one of the nicest I've ever seen.

That's become a bucket list car. The small touches he made turned it into a UNIT.

I know a guy who put a big block I one if these back in High School and he smoking everyone else in his auto shop class like slab of bacon, it was epic.
