The Voice in Your Head Does NOT Want You to Know THIS | EGO 101 Masterclass

There is an imposter on the loose! It lives in our heads. It sounds like us, it controls our bodies, and it pretends to be us. But in reality, this imposter is a maniac. I'm talking of course about the human ego.
This often maniacal ego is both very arrogant and very insecure. It's impatient and it's demanding. It places its self-importance above all else, including relationships and even our own inner peace. It must always be right, even when it's wrong. It thinks it's got it all figured out, but in reality all it's achieved is convincing us that we need it to survive and that it is our boss.
As long as the ego keeps us lost in thought, always comparing, always accumulating, always criticizing and complaining so that it can feel superior, never letting us feel satisfied and content for even a moment, then we will continue to suffer and be unable to break free from the ego's grasp.
In today's KZread video about the ego and how we can rise above it, I discuss in detail the nature of these egos we all have. I talk about why we have them, what their purpose is, and most importantly, what we can do to bring balance and peace back into our minds and back into our lives.

Human beings have had egos since the dawn of man. Today, with social media and online personas, now we have digital egos too. Our psyche is split in two, we live for the “gram” and we crave Likes and Follows. In my book, Digital Ego, I explore the nature of these newfound digital egos, what effect they are having on us, and how we can break free from the screens so we can live more fully, more authentically, and with more meaning and joy. Now available on Amazon at a.co/d/gom5sPG

Now imagine if only a small percentage of the human race would detach from ego and just witness the mind without engaging. We would see so much peace.

Oh that ego will get you. It's human to have it but by 'being ' you feel your real self. You and Eckhart teach power points in similar ways. So valuable and when practiced daily they can blossom quickly. I love it. I get all sparkly and my body gets tingly when i 'get it' because it does affect the body when you get it right.

Everyone, especially our political and religious leaders and the rest of us. Children do not have these problems. Children are in the moment. Children don't have prejudices. Unfortunately they are taught so many hateful things. if we listen to others WE MAY LEARN SOMETHING THAT MAKES SENSE. There is so much to learn about ourselves. I'm now following Todd Perelmuter because what he says makes sense.

I liked the puppy and learning how to ride the bike analogies. When I simply observe the thoughts or watch the thoughts I relax. How easy it is for the bike to wobble all over the place and sometimes I fall off and it hurts. Simply being here and now, is heaven on earth. When my mind is quiet, I have no problems, issues, stressors, complaints, wants, or even needs. I am practising staying on the bike and peddling through my days.

There’s a passage in the Bible that says ‘Turn the other cheek’ and I think that really refers to a lack or decrease in ego. Think about it…if someone smacks you in the face for any reason, the ego is responsible for any reaction. Lack of ego will warrant a response instead of a reaction.

Good comes with bad. The world of duality is the problem. The ego grows in this realm. The right thing happens spontaneously when we are egoless, i.e. unselfish, unself- centered.

The only currency the ego deals in is fear. That all it knows. It is like a scared animal. Reactionary and irrational. In most situations it is your visceral first exclamations....Learn to take a step back and pause before you speak. Observe what the ego wants you to say before you choose to commit to it. Great video, be well everyone 🙏❤️

Oh My, thank you so much for this. I really needed it today. As a former touring musician, I had the tendency to identify as such. After a car accident in 2015 rendered me totally disabled and I felt completely lost, as if I had nothing left to give. I've been working on fixing myself and the way I think about myself for about 4 years now. Meditation, yoga, and just learning who I am without all of that. But what you said about the Ego and Achievements really hit home. Thank you, again.

Ego is a great servant, but a bad master. That's why I like the way your limned the ego as a kind of pet to be tamed, rather than a wild beast to be hunted and killed. So, now that we agree that the ego cannot (and should not) be destroyed, what to do? I submit that, given all the misery, horror, and tragedy in the world today - all due to egoism and its discontents, we should not kill the ego but transform it. And the most promising direction in which that transformation can go is from ego to emeis - that is, from "I" to "We." The obviation of egoism, and the mass conversion of the personal ideology of identification from egoism to altruism, can only eventuate in a threefold win-win-win for humanity, for when the centripetal appetitive energies of my personal identity are de-centered from my little mortal body to our collective Superbody - the body of humanity at large - this will result in three boons: 1. "I" will no longer feel personal suffering about what happens to this tiny piece of flesh, but in experiencing the suffering of all in and as my Superbody, "I" will be more motivated to act for the sake of all 8 billion of us - only for the sake of the common good: "All for one and one for all." 2. There will be a radical decrease in the consumption of natural resources, which have heretofore been driven by egoistic desires and personal appetites with no consideration of the externalities of overconsumption on the other living beings on the planet. Prodigal consumerism and senseless waste, being the heart of the current world metacrisis will decline, if not vanish altogether. Wars and all other expressions of violence will disappear, because "I" am now everybody, our Superbody, and not just some terrified little "me" protecting his fleshed-encased vortex of endless appetites, his reputation, his bank account and nationality, and his personal property, seeking desperately to feed itself, protect itself, reproduce itself before death snuffs it out. 3. In acting for the Supebody rather than my mortal body, I will finally have achieved the age-old desideratum of immortality. Our Superbody will be nothing more than me myself, and "I" will have gained a source of a virtually infinite joy, love, and pleasure far exceeding any that "I" could have experienced as an isolated ego limited to the skin and five senses of this body, which is slated for the grave. The concentrated bliss and happiness of the whole human race will be equivalent to my bliss and happiness, multiplied 8 billion times over. When my personal identity is obviated, transferring who "I" am and what "I" identity with, moving its location from this pathetic mortal coil to the Superbody of humanity at large, after the necessary death of an ego that has always associated itself with this fallible flesh, "I" will be resurrected into a New Vessel: the All-Human Superbody. Those who have been initiated into this new universal religion of Universal Superhuman Altruism, will take the first step into their new life as repentance: forsaking their former idolatry of personal ego, and stepping into the light of altruism - meaning compassion, care, and the love of all, meaning that the health and happiness of Humanity becomes my ultimate concern. After having totally committed my personal identity to Humanity as whole, I will take on a new personal pronoun, replacing "ego" with "emeis" - that is, "I" with "We." This new pronoun will represent the renewed mind of the Sacred Human and our Holy SuperHumanity, who has died to the flesh, buried the ego, and then been resurrected as the deathless Emeis. This resurrection is Humanity's only hope

I wonder if i may share an awareness of mine with you. I used to think that the ego was the thoughts that you have. However, when my ego fell away to me, it seemed obvious that the ego was not so much the thought's but an idea of the self that grasped onto the thoughts that it liked and projected the thoughts it disliked. Im curious how you feel about this idea?🙂

Is our desires ego syntonic or ego alien? Sometimes in life we reach a crossroads, where to avoid or ignore the issues becomes more difficult than to face them.

When did you decided to leave your matrix job? Where did you lived after that knowing that you have mortgage or rent due?

does your ego not protect you from people with malicious intents ? I think people that believe in no ego have never lived in violent environments before.

It's creepy seeing people wearing their Chains aka The Mask of Chains, SHAME & Ignorance. I sure hope that's not in America. The Market WILL crash it's going to make 2008-11 look GREAT! Another great video. Thanks Todd, next time remove the creepers wearing their chains. LOL
