@@mhz6886 sure, saying that he's too skilled would be unfair too. But his skill is not that of voice but more of using his dj platform to enhance his vocal. Thats why its unfair towards the other competitors, they are using only their voice while he uses technical instruments to enhance his voice and performance. This show is about voice, but his music is about his dj station. However im not saying that he cant sing, on the contrary he surely has voice and can sing too, but that is not how he won the competition, and that is unfair.

He does every beat on his own. To perform and also using his voice. Beatboxing or looping is a very high skill which need to be learned to use my friend. Dont talk over stuff u dont into bro

Whether he would be classified as a singer or not. hands down he is one of if not the most MOST talented performer I have seen in years.. Do you realize how complicated is it to create all those sounds with your own voice, work them together and still have the voice to sing so phenomenally. He is freaking AMAZING!!!!!

Does he sing? DaVinci did a lot of different things. Was he a painter? Or did he do to many other things to be considered a painter. The argument basically comes down to "He's doing so many things, is he a singer?" The question should have always been "Is he JUST a singer?" which would have been pretty strait forward to answer. But the crowd took this spoon fed bull shit "controversy" and swallowed hook like and sinker. It was BS from day one.

I usually don't like this style of music. Id pay money to go see him. His arrangements are Awesome he deserves the win no question there

as a beatboxer/looper i can say that i am (and the whole community) really proud, that he shows how great our hobby is :)

Not sure what's more amazing. All the talent and artistry put into just the looping. Let's not forget he can really sing too.

Just one more audition before I go to sleep at a reasonable hour. $ hours later, 4 am, and still looking for more Sam content

I am dreaming. This young man can not be real. He goes on stage and change all rules of The Voice. I am 100% sure, this man makes his way. Sam is like Pink Floyd, it is impossible to copy them 100%. That is awesome what he delivers in his young age. And give AP his own songs and he goes the same way. You can feel it through your monitor that this men loves what they are doing. In Australia the future of music is safe i think.

I love when Sam battles AP and they do Sympathy For The Devil. Sam using his beatboxing and loop station blends so well with AP playing guitar. If you listen and see, Sam even loops AP's guitar playing with his station and it's really cool how they work together. I'd love to hear a full cover. I also like how they both use different styles of microphones which reflects their styles a little bit.

You can think whatever you want but I can say easily... he is a genius.

I remember Adam Lambert coming out each week and we were all anxious to see what spin he put on a song we all knew. This guy took it to another plane. Are there 1000 voice contestants worldwide that are better pure vocalists...sure. What he did was so much next level from what we expect to see on these shows. The song choice, the vocal beds, the singing, the arrangement, the staging...it all adds up into something special even compared with the best pure vocal performances. Guessing the American version doesn’t allow this, but he would have won here as well.

He is so original. He is singing and performing. And he is able to pull off so many different styles. He is amazingly talented.

gotta say that battle against AP was absolutley breathtaking i cant stop watching it, their styles mixed so perfectly and seemingly effortlessly

Since the voice I have gone back and watched his original content. If anyone deserved to win it was him. There are a lot of people out there that have great voices but sound just like 100 different people with great voices. Sam can sing and he has a very distinctive voice which sets him apart just by his voice. Add in his ability to create music from nothing but his own voice and his ability to put sounds together to create something so inspiring and so unique. Is he a musician, is he a singer, is he a DJ. I would say yes to all. He deserved to win.

The stage production on The Voice Australia is extraordinary

That guy was kind of a miracle because he came on the show and basically took everything they do and turned it upside down. He composed basically new songs for every performance he did, he controlled atmosphere and directed the performance. He showed everyone that the act of making music is so much more than just covering artist x for the millionth time. Yet, he still didn't break any rules and was muchmore entertaining than everyone else I've ever seen on these shows.

Totally blew me away first time I heard him. He is quite something else than the usual singer. He is unique and has a talent that is quite his own. A hard act to follw for anyone.

Bloody hell this guy is out of the music world we all know!!! By far my new favorite! 👍👍👍👏👏👏🕺🕺🕺

he is not only a singer he is an artist and a musician unlike other contestants that have studios or great bands that compose and play there backing tracks for them while they sing this guy makes his own backing track on the spot

People don’t understand how hard it is to use a loop station live while not messing up your loops and edits. Also building the track in a way where it’s not boring and stagnant before it gets to the main parts of the song. Everything you here is all his voice even if it’s reverb and edited here and there it’s all him and it’s all done in the moment there isn’t any pre recordings except for the queen song

Sam is a fantastic singer. Take that Booy George. Each set I hear gives me goosebumps. DAMN SAM, he is the most talented individual from all the BGT, AGT, THE VOICE, whatever show. Good God it's so emotional, you just feel it right through your entire body. He has changed the entire music industry single handedly.

Pretty crazy, thats some insane talent, i don't see how hes controversial, sure his voice isn't the stand out part of his performance but he demonstrates more vocal ability then any of the performers just singing, his voice is by no means behind the other competitors when hes normally singing but he goes beyond to use it to build background music for a song often rebuilding the song to suit his style which is more then any of the other performers can say since 90% are just singing covers to the key of the original which won't really get you anywhere, you need originality if the voice, idol, got talent are anything to show theres plenty of people who can sing just as well as you, so singing a mirror cover of the original won't get you anywhere in the industry.
