😎😎 Finally, on April 20 we are living Ft Lauderdale and moving to our new home🏠 in Moultrie Creek, near the Eastport area. After more than five years of waiting, watching countless videos, reading articles, and lots of visits and surviving COVID, we will​ finally be part of The Villages. Hey Chief! Great video and loved the update. We just bought a lot in Moultrie Creek, after 2 failed attempts on other lots in same area, so demand is high. We can’t wait to make our permanent home there. Great to see a fellow bubblehead doing great living and loving the Villages lifestyle.

Perfect timing on your show. We are spending the month of April in TV renting in Richmond. Working with VLS and MLS, but now you have us thinking about the new area. We had the first lifestyle visit last June and have watched your shows since. Thank you for all the work you put into them and of course, this current show really resonated with us. We will tell our VLS realtor to keep us posted on lots in those three areas.

I have heard good things about wegmans. But that will never happen as they have no stores or warehouses in 5he southeast

Saw you at Moultrie Creek today. We were checking out the Street of Dreams. Like you, we think the Southern Waters area would be a great investment.

have been down at the Villages 2x this winter for visits with friends, had a great time but a lot of complaints from golfers about the crowded courses, course conditions and not enough courses being built for the amount of new homes going up. Hard for me to gauge the # of courses gripes as I didn't have to deal with setting up the tee times but the conditions were a little sub par , esp the greens. Will see how they are next year!

Yes, many (a lot!) of the executive and some of the championship courses are in really bad shape right now (OK, the greens really SUCK!), dealing with a massive fungus infection on the greens. Unfortunately there’s no easy answer to the issue and it is going to be expensive to address and will take the greens staff and the players working together to combat the problem. Expect more closures and other actions to contain the issue and allow the course to recover. One can point fingers all they want at whose fault it is, but that won’t help the situation. Understanding the tee time system is key to getting a reservation, player’s points, tee time window, and course selection all play a part in getting a tee time. If you put in a request for 12 people with 3 points each for 8:00-8:30 at one course it’s not likely that you’ll get your request. The scheduler needs to understand the system and plan accordingly. I golf every Saturday morning with a group of 10-16 guys and only once in the last year did we not get a tee time. Our scheduler is smart and understands the system. No more than 3 points for the week, balances the groups to keep the total points for each group low, 10-15 courses selected, and a 2 hour window. In reality the scheduling and getting a tee time isn’t as bad as the on-line complainers make it out to be. There may be a dozen people complaining but there are hundreds more getting the reservations they want.

I have a suggestion to the builder, who do I tell. If you look at the street signs put up, mostly the Main Street and the side street are on the same level on the pole. That’s great if you are making a right turn, you can see the names of both streets. Not so much if you are making a left turn. All you can see is the Main Street sign you are already on. If they stagger the signs, say the main above the side, you can see where you are making your left turn. Seems like a minor thing, but if you are visiting somewhere you are not familiar with it’s helpful. What do you think? Who do I tell?

Will the Villages be offering homes for sale in the new "Best" place to buy by this summer? Do you think they will have any Veranda lots that can hold a pool? Great video, thank you😊

They are selling them now in Moultrie Creek and Shady Brook, I expect them to be selling in that area for at least another 6 months. Yes, there are Veranda homes and many of them have lots big enough for a pool, start talking to your sales rep right away as large lots like that go quickly. Better to buy early than wait until later and miss out completely.

Wawa is not a franchise. It’s privately owned and a great store started here in PA. They are expanding beyond PA/NJ/DE. You will love it! 7-11 is a franchise. :)

Agreed. The aforementioned Wawa is another of several near TV. The first one in the area has been opened about three years I’d say. My go to convenience store and one of my favorite spots for subs. (IMO, better than Publix’s)

Well, they have higher standards than 7-11 which makes them stand out against stores like 7-11 but yes agree it is a conveneince store but needed since we do not have the old mom and pops shops we all grew up with sadly. I am not a fan of their coffee but it will due in a pinch. @@GoldWingnut

higher standards is a very subjective statement and is reflective of the owner and managers and not the brand name on the top of the building. What goes on in the back rooms of a conveneince store is best summed up as "don't ask how the sausage is made". If you get away from The Villages and the interstate you'll find quite a few of the mom & pop stores still operating in Sumter County.

So do i understand that the "new" Richmond area will have to go "across the street" to get to the postal station and pool? Were you able to find out what is going in off of RollingAcres Rd?? It's pretty big and they are working diligently on whatever it is.

Still looking into the rolling acres work. The new Richmond area will have its own small postal station, but no other amenities, it’s only 101 homes. Not uncommon to have to cross the street to go to the pool or other activity.

Don, take a close look at Corbin Trail and McNeil Drive. You will note that both roads the golf carts will travel on the road in their own lanes. There is no Multi Modal trails for either road. Those are bike and walking trails. So with that I think the opening of both roads for golf carts and cars is going to be longer due to golf carts and trucks don't mix. Just an observation since you were calling them Multi Modal trails.Thanks for your hard work!

@Markedwards5512 believe it or not there are quite a few palm tree farms in Florida. You can see one on the road that goes east-west between Micro Racetrack Rd and Rolling Acres.

In your recent videos, the water near Harry and the Natives and the Lake Okahumpka Rec Center has been continuously clean. It seems to me that the District has obtained permission to apply the chemicals which prevent the growth of the natural aquatic vegetation.

I wouldn't know on that one. Oakahumpka and the property that H&TN is going on are all owned by the developer and their responsibility to maintain.

Yes, permit are required. In commercial construction they don't put the permits in a "job box" like the do at houses, they are maintained by the General Contractor, normally by the lead Project Manager.

Why not just add bulkheading around the island? Seems like a simple solution.

It would be more expensive, it was investigated about 8 or 9 years ago, and it has other undesirable characteristics, I don't remember what they were but we discussed them when I was on the PWAC.

Where are the workers going to come from to staff all these stores, restaurants and gas stations?

Nearly a thousand people a day move to Florida, employers work hard to attract new hires, if the business is located in The Villages one of the big benefits for the employees is access to the Charter School system.

Meggison south of Sawgrass Grove is feeder road, just like Canal, O'Dell, Hillsborough trail, etc. Meggison north of Sawgrass Grove, Bexley Trail, Buena Vista, Morse (south of 466), and El Camino Real are major arterials designed for a different traffic load, hence the 4 lanes instead of 2.

I would never live in the Villages😢 anywhere. So many things about the villages. And don’t forget about the venereal disease. I read about it in AARP magazine.🤣

I agree. It, like so many other things right now, just doesn't make any sense. It may encourage teachers to go for a drink after work which may eventually be many drinks as the year progresses. May sound funny but it can happen with a bar in such close proximity to the school. How could this be allowed?

It's not uncommon to have restaurants near a school, and most non-fast food restaurants serve alcohol, that in and of itself is not really an issue. In this case it was the message delivery, not well thought out.

Parents bring their kids to breweries that have dedicated spaces for kids to run around and play. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a restaurant that will have the space to sit outside and enjoy live music and entertainment for all ages. It’s not some hole in the wall bar where people will be get wasted.
