    I also love this movie because it did so much with so little. In other words there are these movies with these insane plots; Godzilla vs King Kong, transformers etc where a lot is happening but you hardly feel anything. What’s happening in the village isn’t a lot, yet you feel intensely, as if every ounce of drama was drawn properly out of the plot, nothing wasted. Hope that made sense 😂

    I agree, they mismarketed this movie.I went in expecting a blaring horror. But I was extremely satisfied with what I watched. I feel like they keep doing that to his movies which causes people to not like them.

    "If he dies, all that is life to me will die with him." Fun Fact: Joaquin Phoenix made a wooden walking stick for Bryce Dallas Howard during the 19th-century preparation the actors participated in before the film. He engraved the name of her character, Ivy, on the walking stick. Art From Difficulty Fact: According to Steve Boeddeker, the MPAA gave the film an "R" rating due to a single sound effect, which was later removed. It was the sound of the knife stabbing Lucius. Boeddeker has stated that the scene worked even better without it. Creature Creation Fact: M. Night Shyamalan initially had a different concept for the "those we do not speak of" creatures. They were originally conceived to be monsters similar to lions walking on their hind feet, complete with shaggy manes. When the creatures were built to full scale and brought on set, Shyamalan felt that the design was completely unbelievable. The creatures were quickly redesigned, most noticeably with the addition of the red cloak.

    I saw both ''The Sixth Sense'' and ''Unbreakable'' in the cinema (the latter is one of my all time favorite movies, if not so, the ultimate super hero movie ever made!), and I also love ''Signs'', but in years to come, people gonna analize and talk 'bout ''The Village'' endlessly, and it'll probably be considered as his ultimate movie masterpiece.

  • @sebastianemond5313

    @sebastianemond5313

    I recently watched the Sixth Sense, and unfortunately, due to fan culture spoiling the ending 20 years before then on the internet, I find it just an ok ghost movie. But as a fan of superheroes, Unbreakable is one of my favorites, and the fact it lead to Split and Glass as a "limited edition" trilogy, that only hints at a growing universe unlike MCU or DCEU, makes it one of the best trilogies. Even if I would like to see more people like David Dunn or Kevin Wendell Crumb explored in other movies by Shyamalan, I respect the decision he made not to copy Marvel or DC. Still, I was underwhelmed a bit by the climax of Glass; not because of the twist reveals or the amazing fight scene between The Beast and Overseer, but because of the executed ending of all the main characters, including Mr. Glass. I find ones like Signs or The Village guilty pleasures, because even though they are flawed in logic, real life parallels, or dialogue delivery, I admire the character interaction, set designs, atmospheric tension, and the genuine emotional feels they resonate in certain scenes. Btw, when I said real-life parallels, I mean something like in Signs, where they attributed the crop circles to hoaxes from the 60s-70s, and yet the real aliens use the exact same method to communicate with each other or direct their invasion.

    @@sebastianemond5313 the sequel of ''Unbreakable'' was mostly because the twist ending a remarkable movie, it gave the whole ''Split'' movie a new dimension. And I experienced it like that, not knowing it was a sort of follow up to ''Unbreakable''. Now everybody, well most people know it is part of a trilogy, and that took the magic and twist away. And I was very excited to see ''Glass'', the trailer looked excellent, but the movie itself was an huge disappointment to me, I didn't liked it at all....

    @@Deathbird_Mitch I can understand the heightened senses for a blind person, but with fear & adrenaline playing a huge part in it as well, that's the one oversight I think they made. A blind person, on a solo trek, through a forest she has never set foot in, and feels as if she's running for her life?? Ain't no way she's following some mental breadcrumbs back to where she came from, lol. Highly unlikely. It would have been so easy for the writer/director to slip in some sort of definite landmarks she could feel for, something to make her journey seem less far-fetched and more realistic.

The Equilizer movies with Denzel are close second. And I also HIGHLY recommend the movie Dragonfly with Kevin Costner. It is a beautiful beautiful supernatural mystery film.
