I scrolled down looking for somebody to mention this because it seems immediately obvious to me, too. We're supposed to believe that so many hidden details were randomly discovered, accurately deciphered, and successfully applied by one random person? One random person who just suddenly felt like an intensive playthrough of a game which two years earlier he had tried and immediatley abandoned? And that was when it was new and people were buzzing about it so much. Then, he only gave it five minutes and followed that by two years of complete disinterest. Literally every individual piece of the anon's narrative strains credulity somehow. All the pieces together bring it to the level of outright absurdity. It would have been much more impressive and interesting if the project's creator had used multiple identities across multiple discussion platforms to make it appear as if each detail was either discovered independently or worked out collaboratively, all drip fed to us over an extended period of time. That would have kept the mystery alive for longer. But he was impatient and sloppy, we can see the man behind the curtain. Now we know the great and powerful Wizard isn't real.

@@mtanquizon Nope, look up the series "Finding Yeezus". It was made by a teen for a high school project. They found out about acsensionism cult online and tied it to the game for no reason other than trolling. They found it funny and wanted to add it in to confuse people. They found it funny reading comments like yours that honestly thought it was connected to a cult but they don't blame you. Their name is Clara Hope.

y'know, i look back at it now, it most likely was made in RPG Maker VX Ace, so if we were provided with a project file (which we can copy from other games, as they all store the same content), it could've been explored fully

You can also just load the rpg maker game file into RPG Maker and find out the ascend password there, My guess is the game just really wasn't popular enough to get noticed by anyone. Strange though cause I've heard of it before...

my theory is that the dev made a game with ARG elements and no one discovered them. Wanting their efforts to be noiticed, the dev outed the secret themself. Calypso seems to be a follow up to the project and they just ran out of motivation or the project was untennable. I am excited for how Finding Yeezus pans out

Idk why so many people liked this comment. I guess i see the humor in it. But one of the most intriguing and engaging aspects of this ARG was the fact that someone had to randomly stumble upon it.. See, if it were me, i would do it the same way, and if no one ever found it, i'd make another with the same difficulty and link it to the first, and so on and so forth until someone DID find one. And then the treasure trove and immensity of what someone has found would be absolutely thrilling. It would feel as though someone has stumbled upon something great, and very purposefully hidden... just feels better to me.

the original twitter acc is deleted and replaced by an archive account which says that another account is what the original account was, but that other account was created in 2018 and the original was created in 2013, according to this video

Can we all just stop and take a second to realize these people created a fully functional and well made game just so they could set up a tie in to there cult. A link that was only discovered because some guy thought it would be funny to type “ascend” into a very specific prompt. Credit where it’s due, the subtlety and effort put in are very commendable.

actually, it wasnt random. In the end part of the trailer where the beeps are, someone found out that the beeps are morse code, and when translated they read ASCEND

I think it's weird no one mentions how Dunkey had some weird horror spoof videos during the video times of the Kayne Quest 3030...
