The Venice of China

I headed from Shanghai to Suzhou, and found this place a picturesque dream of gondolas floating by on twisting canals, amazing food, mysterious alleys, and even a leaning tower of China.

The different between Chinese gardens with Western gardens 1. Chinese gardens are designed to asymmetry. 2. The landscape of Chinese gardens are designed as small scale of natural scenery that included mountains, rivers and forests. The rocks are symbol of mountains. The ponds or stream are symbol of river, lake. The plants are symbol of forest in the nature. 3. Keeping the plants in the garden as natural shape. Never trimming or pruning the plants like artificial shape. 4. The view of landscape will be variety when the people walk few meter away. 5. When you are inside the house, you will see the window view like a picture.

Have spent six years in Suzhou. Suzhou is my favorite city in China! Thank you for your filming, which recalls me some beautiful memory. I recommend you to go to the garden in autumn. This season many trees in Suzhou will become red or yellow. The scenery of garden will be more charming! Also, I guess you probably only visited the old city part of Suzhou. The new city of Suzhou called SIP would deserve to visit too. It probably has one of the best urban planning of new metropolitan area in China, which is entirely different to the image of an old city. It is so modern and clean, and less crowded. You should walk around the Jinji Lake and Dushu Lake in SIP. I promise you would never regret that.

But your comment was more deserving than "editing = next level" ~ Just is your sense of helplessness to expand, yet the grammar in USA EngLish "just barely qualified" "just barely made it" just as everything was _, the unexpected happened. Good comment. One grammar quirk about English.

If we are talking about Chinese water towns Suzhou can't hold a candle to Wuzhen. Suzhou's tower is cool and easy to get to therefore more touristy, but Wuzhen is way far more picturesque and authentic in every other aspect, if you only have a chance to visit one water town in China I'd definitely chose Wuzhen over Suzhou any day.

Wuzhen is just a commercialized touristy place. Suzhou is historical all over the city and people actually live in it.

But tell her that Chinese Water Towns are more older than Italys Venice. All Archaelogical Evidences tell us that Venice is only 1500 yrs old while Zhujiaojiao is 1700 yrs old.

I love Suzhou 苏州。Home of the silk weaving. Did you check out the silk museum. The area is also famous for Osmanthus tea 桂花茶 one of my favourite sweet teas! I took a tour at the time and after seeing your video, I want to go back and spend 2 days there on my own to explore! The difference is that I went in the middle of winter and now I can see just how much more spectacular the city is during the warmer months. It's definitely very beautiful and scenic. Did you check out Master of Nets Garden, Tiger Hill and the Grand Canal? Personally, I enjoyed the older traditional feel of the canal town Zhujiajiao 朱家角 on the outskirts of Shanghai. I have pasted my description of Suzhou from my travel albums on Facebook: Situated on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River (Yangtze River Delta Region). Famous sites include Master of Nets Garden, Tiger Hill and the Grand Canal. The city is famous for silk production (rumoured to be amongst the best in China). Suzhou is one of the oldest towns in the Yangtze Basin. 2500 years ago during the Shang dynasty, local 'Gou Wu' tribes lived in the area that became the modern city. King Helu of Wu established the "Great City of Helu". In 496BC, the city was buried in Tiger Hill. Most of the architecture reflects the Tang Dynasty style.

Idaho Tree Bark Russet, New England Red Smooth Potatoe, Orange Yam Sweet Potatoe. On going USA problem. Whiter Better. Could they at least choose smooth skins Golden Klondike is a weird nothing attempt between Red Skin & Russet.

Tanzeel Ur Rehman wow. What she does with the slow, medium, speed up, slow down. ~ it almost embarrassing that I felt the energy of chasing and then came upon a girl in traditional robes, then the cutting back and forth with tea cups, then stranger at a stall to speak with. Cutting back to the Glasses and Traditional Robes. I wish blushing benefited men too. It's a very interesting experience to feel visually flattered and see her playful editing. She will have good sons, or is someone else's loved sister.

Besides, Suzhou is one of the top 10 cities in China, comparing the historical and Modern factors with others. The city sight along the Jinji Lake is also fantastic and it is easy to go by metro. Hope see you next time!
