Thank you Lauren! This song is so sad, and so beautiful, and so epic. This is a departure from most of their catalog. The band had started making this album, and Josh the lead singer had surgery. He briefly died, and was revived. He had an infection and had to be isolated from everyone for months. He also lost his ability to hear music in his head. He became depressed. When he fully recovered, the band encouraged him to go back to the studio. He told them it was going to be dark based on how he felt. The album this was on is called …Like Clockwork. It is their most critically acclaimed album. Some of the songs on the album are still fun and energetic, but others definitely hit dark tones. I really identify with it lyrically with how the past couple of years have been. I appreciate you!

It's funny that most people know the death during surgery table but I saw an interview with Josh and he said that he had never mentioned it and it was a rumour that somebody made up, he just couldn't be bothered to correct them. If you go to the ....Like Clockwork Wiki it sources as much: 'In June 2016, Homme clarified that the knee surgery he had was in no way connected to his "death" and that the story was created by "somebody else". He added that the real situation involved an MRSA infection bought on by going "in too deep" with drugs'. I think everything else was true though about his depression, still made for one great album!

Wow ... unexpected. This is possibly their best album and one of the best recordings. I remember how after the release I wasn't twice excited about their departure from stoner rock. Today, after almost 10 years, I see it completely differently.

Also, I have loved Josh’s voice forever. It is one of my favorite things. Chris Cornell, Pete, and Josh are my three favorite singers.

When you get used to the lyrics and feel them, it's a pretty soul crushing song

I had loved Songs for the Deaf (the album No One Knows is on) -- still do. But when I heard this album (...Like Clockwork) I decided QOTSA were the most popular lounge act in Hell, no question. There's some killer rockers and other moody pieces kinda like this one, but there's a vibe that carries throughout. And it's rad. Hope you might enjoy more from it one day!

“…Like Clockwork” is my favorite album of all time start to finish. I’d put that album up against any. If you ever get a chance, listen to that entire album in order. It’s a whole vibe. It’s less than an hour total, so please listen when you can. Thank you!

It's qotsa influenced. Btw that about the more you listening the better it gets is pretty much most of qotsa, especially the newest album villains from them took over 3 full listens untill I fell in love with it

I just see, that I almost know nothing of the „newer“ queens of the stone age. Thanks, Linda! And after video conferencing with a colleague today, I already had half of the day looking at a woman on the screen with a cats tail sometimes crossing the screen! :D

Too bad I missed the live show, I have so many song requests lol. Random idea for future song requests... you could post a poll on your homepage/community and draw a random winner from the group of people who got the right answer

Actually wearing a QOTSA shirt today. Lol. I think if you hit songs from Songs For The Deaf or Lullabies To Paralyze you’d get sucked into their vibe. Josh Homme is pretty darn talented and his earlier band Kyuss is legendary.
