I've had the song in my circles since 1981, but while the lyrics spoke to me, I never liked the performance/arrangement. Was reluctant to listen to Ghost's cover, but it blew me away when I did. THEN I heard the acoustic version, and it is one of my favorite things ever. RIP, Roky, Tobias done right by you!

Not sure if anyone's recommended this, but I think you'd like Life Eternal. Very powerful track, one of my favorites from them.

This song was a slow win-over for me. Didn't care for it at first, but when I bought the record I ended up listening to Go-Goat even more than Mary On A Cross, haha.

Thanks for the video! I'd recommend that you see the actual music video for this song rather than this audio only version. It plays into the lore much more.

It was the third song I heard from Ghost. 'Twas awesome. Made me listen to the rest post-haste! Pretty sure it's Mad Gallica on keys.

I think you'd like this song better when you see how it fits into the lore by watching the ghost soap opera (shorts) "Message from the Clergy" They need to be watched in order as the storyline develops from episode to episode. (chapter 1: New Blood)

Watch the official video. It's hilarious, and explains everything. It's set in 1969, the 'first' incarnation of Ghost ;-) You will love 'Rats' and 'Mummy Dust'! Love your reactions, by the way! Acoustic live versions of 'Jigolo Har Megiddo' are wonderful. It's a dark song with an ominous but jaunty melody. And another slow but dark song is 'Monstrance Clock'... they used to close their shows with that one.

“King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard” is an Aussie band that goes from blues/jazz to environmentalist metal, I’d recommend “Straws in the wind” “Crumbling Castle” “Muddy Water” “Open Water” “Cold Cadaver” “Mars for the Rich” They have way too many albums and they try to be creative with each one trying things like putting more frets on their guitars to make microtonal music. They formed around 2011 and have like 20 something albums it’s nuts man.

Oh and their album “Polygondwanaland” is literally free, you could upload the entire album if you wanted to cause they released it in a way so fans could do what they wanted with it(like make remixes or share however)

@@MusicCatsandCoffee Thank you for replying. Not going to lie, I wasn't expecting it. I am subscribed and I've watched all the Ghost reactions so far but there's many more you should listen to like Faith, Griftwood, Mummy Dust, Jigolo Har Megiddo & Deus in Absentia. They also have a movie coming out from the 20th to the 24th of June.

What kind of dark? This seems like "parent's basement" type of dark. I fear for the future of "dark" music.
