The Vamps' Connor Ball: Overcoming Anxiety & Depression I The Speakmans x Connor Ball

Bass player Connor Ball from The Vamps opens up and gets help for his Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Attacks & Depression.
With millions of followers worldwide and sell-out arena shows, The Vamps have the world at their feet, but for their bassist, Connor Ball, there’s a downside to all the success. Connor suffers with generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks and depression. This prevents him from enjoying so many incredible moments that others would give anything to do.
For example, after playing for Prince Charles at the Princes’ Trust, the band met with Prince Charles, except Connor whose anxiety got the better of him and therefore he had to leave. He avoids red carpet events and interviews, and suffering so much he sought help from various doctors and psychiatrists who diagnosed him with generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks and depression. After ineffective therapy and medication, Connor contacted Nik and Eva in the hope they could help him.

I think a lot of people relate with Connor more than he knows. I've had times where I had to fake being ill to avoid social things or I've had breakdowns before going to college and I have panic attacks when I get to college. I'd like to speak to a doctor if Connor can, that in itself is nerve wracking xx Thanks for making this happen 😁

ive loved these boys since i was 7, so for half of my life. And to me, I've always "preferred" connor because even as a kid, i had such bad anxiety that i barely did anything but sit and read alone. so growing up and watching interviews of them, i saw how anxious he would seem and that's what really got me invested in them. seeing somebody in the spotlight struggle with what i do. and as i got older, their music became a safe haven for me. I fell in love with their music and humor. i always experience less and less panic attacks whenever i listened to their music. And now, at 14, it's been nearly 2 weeks since I got to experience their music live. it's been 2 weeks since i saw the boys who saved my life. its been 2 weeks since i saw the man who showed me that anxiety & depression was going to knock me down and try to drown me for the longest time but i would always take in more air everytime before i went under. Honestly, without Connor teaching me anxiety was normal, I never would've seeked help. I wouldn't be alive today. I owe it all to them. I owe it all to Connor.
