I would place the bed against the stone wall, it gives you space to walk into the room. Also I don t think the a/c should be above the bed.

Hi Ed, in the first bedroom I would put at least one plug on the other wall, for example if you use a computer desk, you'll want one there or if you use the vacuum cleaner, you won't use the ones next to the bed. And don't say people won't use a vacuum cleaner on wooden floors, I use them, and every person who is allergic to dust will use them. I have a sewing room in my house and I need at least five plugs to be able to let them all connected plus my extra light. So I would go for at least five plugs in each room.

Following Feng shui rules, you are not supposed to put anything mechanical or noise-producing above a bed. Thus, the 1st bedroom bed should go against the stone wall and not share the same wall with the air-conditioning unit. Cheers.

I think that is a common sense rule not feng shui.

@@janetpendlebury6808it’s the aesthetics you want to see the bed when you walk it because it’s the most prominent piece of furniture.

My suggestion is you install a metal ‘bracket’ over the upstairs entry way and install glass ‘bricks’ whisks you can walk on but still allow light penetration. Gives you floor space & light.

Wanna hug Louis! THANK YOU. The Feng shui is IMPORTANT. Basic rules, don't line the bed up with the door or hallway, sleep north & south if possible, bed should be command positon opposite wall facing the door opening. Look up some pics, you'll see. Btw, HATE the AC directly over the bed position. (Not my house but you asked! 😂)

The only free wall I have for my bed is against the hallway, and I have two doors and a window in my bedroom. I sleep west to east and have not had a problem.

It is coming along nicely! It wasn’t so long ago you were showing Anna a dilapidated building. What a difference!

Usually put the bed opposite side of the door (so you can see who is coming into the room). So against the brick/stone wall.

Louis is a treasure and such a nice guy. Always looks happy and content with this life. You’ve all become such good friends. I guess once his new shop opens up we will being less of him. I wish him much success in his new business.

Best okace for the aircon unit is over the door, that way it is less ugly.

I think a lot of renters will look at this house because it will be all new and fresh inside.

My takeaway about the bed placement is you don't want it on the inner walls that the headboard might bang against, like when one rolls over, yes, that's it.

Totally agree with the extra reinforcement of the wall between the stairwell and bedroom. You are intending to rent this place and have to assume that what ever someone could do, someone will do in terms of breaking things, walls, railings, etc. The spaces are really becoming defined and the vision is taking shape.

Hi Ed & Anna, The optimum placement is below 2.4m (8 feet) US, we have 3.35 m (11 feet) ceiling height in half our home. Great progress with the electric, good solution to put electric on the stone. Mark & Scott

Louie is right about the bed placement. In fact there isn’t enough room on the short wall in the first bedroom because you didn’t have the door open all the way. Is there enough room for a small table and chair in the corner of the room? If so an outlet would be good in that corner. Will there be wardrobes?

Louis is a absolutely correct about bed placement. You never want to sleep in the doorway. In Canada doors always open into the room. When facing the door closed the door handle is on the right when you are inside the room.

doors should open inwards into bedrooms, and in such a way, left or right, so that the person coming in has to open the door a long way to be able to get round to see into the room, and then the person in the room knows that someone is entering. It is historically to stop things like snooping/attacking on the person(s) in the bedroom.

We will let the tenants put their wardrobes in, and of course there will be sound insulation… the rolls were in the background in the main bedroom

Have you considered installing the green board horizontally? In the event of flooding downstairs, it may make doing repairs easier at a later date. Enjoying your VLOGs.

Some noise insulation between rooms and noggins between metal studs, would help with sound and to hang pictures. Here, outlets are every 4 to 6 ft apart
