Almost EVERY time you see a baby or toddler in a TV show they are played by twins. Or sometimes even triplets. It's an extremely common practice because there are very strict laws about how many hours a young child can work on a set (as there should be,) and using twins doubles the time they can shoot scenes.

It is obvious Americans will prefer the US version as it has been written to appeal to an American audience. I think that a lot of the cultural aspects of the UK version are lost to Americans because it is a side of life rarely seen in international British films and TV. The US version is no better or worse than the UK version. It is simply different.

The UK version looks mediocre and dull. American actors are beautiful even when their ugly but when I tried the UK version the actors were trashy looking like someone used there phone to film it, no filters or makeup. When I try to watch my shameless on the Fire stick I sometimes get the UK version instead and the guy says something like "I don't give a fuck all about a fuck all about" and you literally can't understand what he's saying or what the fuck he's talking about.. Pretty annoying.

I'm American and I prefer the UK version. I couldn't get used to the US version, it didn't pull me in. Same for House of Cards. The US version of Red Dwarf was absolute garbage. I think they only did a pilot episode thank god.

You think so? In my experience nobody ever seems to shut up about how amazing it is.

It's so strange to hear of and try to imagine alternate actors in roles that we are familiar with. And almost every time its a "noooooo" moment. But I could absolutely see Woody Harrelson as Frank. His portrayal of Larry Flynt comes to mind, kind of tragic, but still humerous. Would love to see an audition tape if there was one.

The UK version never really knew what to do with them and it ended up just being a fling which why the US was so much better. Cam and Noel have insane chemistry and they've taken viewers on this journey. I cant believe how many times I've watched the strip club kiss or that goodbye on the boarder or that wedding.

God this show will always be my favorite. I started in Season 3 and quickly caught myself up with the first 2. It is nothing short of incredible. A must watch for EVERYONE!

SHAMELESS is my show just like how FRIENDS was everyone’s show in the 90s. I absolutely love it!! I wish every season ran together and it never had to end like a long, long movie that would just go on and on. I would have loved to have been friends with a family like that growing up, it would have been the place I would have gone to do any and everything that I couldn’t/wouldn’t been able to do at home. I just started watching it on Netflix I think a little over two months ago and I'm already on season 7!! It's addicting I love the show so much.

My grandma actually lives a couple minutes from the Gallagher house! I live about 20 minutes away so I've visited multiple times.

All the injuries were real too….Carl broke his leg in real life and Kevin I think tore his hamstring. It was awesome how they wrote that story around the real life of the actors

Me and my stepbrother and half sister can relate to allot in this show. We didn't grow up in Chicago but we did Grow up in Baltimore City. Going through similar stuff like in the show. It takes us back to the past and we laugh about it now. I absolutely love this show.

Actually the Sim Twins do not play Liam anymore. About a month after shooting started their mother posted on their instagram page that the boys loved their Shameless family, but they are not going to be on the show anymore. They recasted the part.

I’ve loved Carl’s character development. Every phase has been excellent and I never get tired of him. Usually the child characters of tv shows don’t really get my interest but shameless doesn’t have that problem.

Is there more to come loved it x

I love Shameless, and I grew up on a farm! My family was just like that except the farm version. It's a bunch of kids who are doing everything they can to rise above the life they were handed. They are heroes in my eyes, and they make me feel better about my family. We weren't THAT dysfunctional. I love every character

I really enjoyed these backstories !

The best show ever! Shows realistic of family chaos. This show must go on for several aeaaons.

I am a huge fan of both series. The American version stays on topic better because casting is more stable. However I really miss Mimi in the American version. Also I really wish they hadn't killed off Monica. She was such a great character and soooooo well played. I also miss Joan Cusack every single episode. Shameless UK is funnier but Shameless US is more wicked and somewhat darker toned. However Frank Gallagher is Frank on both sides of the ocean. Both actors breathe life into this abomination. The kids mostly better fleshed out in the US version mostly because the kids on the UK version disappear one at a time. I have a hard time comparing them. I just enjoy both of them.

I knew all of these, you didn't mention in the casting part that they didn't even want to audition Emmy because she had always played such high class characters. Also the shameless houses are pretty south side.

I kind of liked when they left Jimmy's fate a mystery. he did royally screw up and it was his final warning from the drug lord. people do go missing in this world everyday and you never really know the reason why. it came off like a tragic love story where you wished him and Fiona could've made it but he dies and Fiona never finds out, but when they brought him back it kind of killed that feeling.

I haven't even noticed they had switched Mandy, until I saw an article mentioning it.

I love the show because it’s relatable and realistic to me I’ve related to it like no other it shows money problems and strong personality’s living together and I admire that

I started watching shameless in early December last yr, finished the whole show on netflix and season 7 online in 3 months. I took long breaks because the show is really emotionally draining for me. I got really obsessed with mickey and Ian's storyline and every time something got rocky, I'd take a 1-2 week break from watching. It took me 2 just to start watching s6 because of mickey going to prison and their breakup :( his character came so far and Franks daughter (is it sammi or sammie?) had to go fuck everything up. It's literally my favorite thing and I've never been more invested in a TV show ever in my life. It's funny, depressing, and full of violence and soooo many issues have been touched on.

That moment when the sims twins are your nephews and just randomly watched this video lol I'm very surprised when they brought up the Instagram

Bring back Jimmy/Steve was sooooooooo bad. I love his character and missed him. But come on all the suspense for that crappy return, still being a liar and kicked out by Fiona ? nah.

lolaveragegirl24 Love At least Jimmy kept His bullshit away from the family most of the time. Hell Fiona almost killed Liam because she left out Coke and then almost didn't take the plea deal because she believed she was innocent which is complete bullshit, not to mention she ruins every relationship she's had for just about any reason. She forced Frank back into alcohol early on because she found out it was part of a bet but then when he's back to His old self she complains? Not to mention she violated parole by getting drunk and high off her ass.

Jimmy/Steve could be such a POS, but I have to admit that I loved when he was on the show because DAMN that actor has beautiful eyes!

I love this show. I used to watch the British version but the American is better. I Netflix binge watch this show, son.

Waited for Season 8 of "Shameless" to start airing on Netflix! Does anyone know specifically when that happens? I'm guessing the fall, but looking for a specific date?

Emmy was lucky her demands were met, although her character takes on more on the show and Macy seems to have less screen time, I would still see him as the star. A big pay rise definitely but not the same salary as him, and back pay too, but well done her!
