when listening to the Spanish and French covers

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing, Roman cavalry choirs singing, "be my mirror, my sword, and shield" , my missionaries in a foreign field. For some reason I can’t explain. Why was Jerusalem bells are mentioned? Back then it was under ottoman rule. I don’t know, there is another meaning he could not say on tv. Something about religion and invasion.

I associate this song with the fall of the West.
