All of her children died young except for Cleopatra Selene II but I wouldn't say she "faded into obscurity" or disappeared from historical record. Her life after her mother's death is actually quite well documented. She grew up and married Juba II of Numidia (they were both wards of Augustus Caesar at the time) and became Queen Consort of Numidia. She also had two children, Ptolemy, King of Mauretania and Drusilla of Mauretania. She proved to be as shrewd and intelligent as her mother and helped boost her country's economy as Queen and promoted architecture which gave the country a more Hellenistic and Roman look. She did die young at 35 in 5 BC but outlived all of her immediate family (siblings and parents)

I'm Egyptian, A COPTIC CHRISTIAN EGYPTIAN, I shout that out loud because we are the most pure blooded Egyptians out there and that's not only my opinion that's what Egyptologists, Historians and Scientists also agreed on , and I tell you that every word that Bassem Youssef said is right and I totally agree with him. Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like? With all due respect for all the Black people and all the other ethnicities out there, but we Egyptians are special very special, WE ARE NOT Black or White or Yellow, Not Europeans or Africans or Asians, Not Assyrians or Persians or Israelites or Nubians or Greeks or Romans or Arabs or French or Italians or Germans or British or Turkish or Ukrainians, Not Middle Easterners or Caucasians or Mediterraneans or Levants or Amazigh or Berbers or even North Africans. WE ARE EGYPTIANS, WE ARE VERY UNIQUE!

History in general has this tendency of demonising female rulers when compared to their male conterpart another example would Mary the first she is now known as bloody mary for the numerous executions that happened during her time yet her father Henry the eight had around 70000 executions happened during his reign and even got someone executed just a week before his death yet his 6 marriages occupy a far more important part of his history than that fact.

This was all standard power struggle stuff and Cleopatra played the game well with the cards that she was holding. She lost in the end to people who played the game more ruthlessly than she did and are generally remembered in history as 'good'.

If you were to die today, are you a 100% sure you will go to heaven? If no, here is what the bible says, (1) Romans 3:23 KJV [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Q1. Do you know what Sin is? Sin is anything bad that we have done. Q2. Have you sinned before? Yes or No? (2) Revelation 21:8 KJV [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Because we have sinned, and God does not allow Sin into Heaven, the punishment is burning hell. What is the way to reconcile our peace and relationship with God? Q3. Do you know the Story of Jesus? (3) Romans 5:8 KJV [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus = God who lived up in Heaven, but he came down on earth and became a man like us, he lived for 33.5 years without committing any sin. Then there were certain people who were jealous and therefore framed him on phony charges, and crucified him. Then he was buried and resurrected on the third day; Now he lives in HEAVEN. Q4. Do you know why Jesus went through all this bloody mess for us? A4. As mentioned, our sin is the reason why we can’t go to heaven, and the only thing that can wash away our sin is the Blood of Jesus. (4) Romans 5:9 KJV [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. According to the bible, the only way for us to reconcile with God is through Christ Jesus’s blood, and not through any works that we do or merits we accumulate, such as water baptism, attending church, or any good thing that we do. The following verses clearly support this. (5) Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. (6) 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. In order to get saved, repentance of one’s sin is needed to get saved, we need to be sorry, and repent, with conviction, that we are a wretched sinner. (7) Romans 10:9 KJV [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. If you truly do believe in everything you have heard in the gospel, ,I strongly suggest you to make a proclamation to GOD! You can say it to God in less than 15 seconds !Repeat after this simple prayer, to make sure you truly get saved. Remember repeating this prayer doesn't save you, it's you telling God you BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. Ok, here is the prayer : ‘Dear GOD, I know I am a sinner, as I repent, I put my faith, that Jesus is GOD, and that he died, buried and resurrected, so that his blood, can wash away my Sins. I put my faith in that alone to save me, not my good works. In Jesus’s holy name, I pray. Amen! Congratulations ! Now you are a child of God. Download /Buy a KJV bible (I highly suggest getting a hard copy bible , as one day, it will be illegal to buy, own or even have an online version of the bible) and search for youtube channels like Truthunedited, REAL Bible Believers , The Bible Project, AoC Network, Robert Clancy, Spencer Smith to help you grow , study dispensationalism to understand the bible ( How do we reconcile the verses in the New Testament that tell us that we need works to show our faith, and another that tells us that nothing that can take our salvation away? That's why we need to study biblical dispensationalism to rightly divide the word of God.( study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth, 2 Timithy 2:15) (I recommend the dispensationalism video from Genesis to Revelations by Dr. Gene Kim, kzread.info/dash/bejne/eX1opdaedanef84.html) , join a bible believing church. God bless you brother/ sister ☺. See you in heaven one day!

What good, another than movies, did Cleopatra do for her country? Egypt was ruling egypt for 5000 years and lost it over a relationship. Cleopatra, an ethnic Macedonian, learned Egyptian and ruled Egypt justly. She personally lost in the end but Egypt carried on under Roman rule which was probably inevitable.

Not evil, not at all. From most historical accounts, she was a wise and powerful queen of Egypt. She was extraordinary, how she adeptly navigated and managed Egypt’s fortune amidst the power of imperial Rome who dominated the region. She succeeded in forging friendships, relationships and alliances with powerful Romans of her time. But of course in the end, she committed a mistake by thinking that joining forces with Mark Antony would keep Octavian (son of assassinated dictator, Julius Caesar) and Rome at bay. In the end, she denied Rome the indignity of being taken into captivity by committing suicide after Octavian defeated her and Antony’s combined forces. Egypt became a Roman province and Octavian became Augustus Caesar-first Roman emperor.

It’s really easy to take Almost ANY historical character and tell only part of their story to make them seem like they were good or bad. The fact is that any historical person is going to be like people today, nuanced. Sometimes good people do bad things. Sometimes bad people do good things. Sometimes people do good things for the wrong reason. Sometimes people do bad things for the right reason. Most people and events aren’t just good or bad, right or wrong, black or white. I don’t consider Cleopatra evil, on the contrary! She was very political (power) focused and made Egypt the richest country of the world in that time from scratch. Than she collided with Ceasar, a pact, to gain together absolutely power over East and West. When she was with Ceasar (helping him financially with his battles) Egypt had been taken, she went back ruled them out and rebuild Egypt again. She is without doubt one of the smartest woman in history. Did she manipulate, provoke ? Of course just like any other ruler in the past and today. That she married powerful men, that was only a political way in that time (and even times afterwards, not very long ago in fact). She wasn’t just a ruler over Egypt, she was the ruler of The World! She stood firmly grounded in a world dominated by man. Ceasar and Cleopatra where together extremely powerful in mindset, but it didn’t last long. When he died it started to fell apart. She tried it with Anthony, but he didn’t came even close to Ceasar. I don’t know why we still portrait powerful women in the wrong way.

You also forgot to mention that Cleopatra was the queen of the last Ptolemaic kingdom of Egypt where she help built Alexander the Great's legacy to collect the world's knowledge in the grandest library at the time in Alexandria. Any foreign ship docking at Alexandria's port had to provide a cultural manuscript of the point of the ship's point of origin. It was copied and then returned to the ship's captain. Alexander believed in cultural diffusion (many of his men didn't) where intermarriage and intercultural exchange was important. Cleopatra followed the same philosophy to some degree. The main reason why the Romans wanted to conquer Egypt was because a great deal of the known world's wealth were located in Egypt and much of that wealth was funneled out of Egypt and that's how the Romans were able to build the grand temples.

@@Elena-ik8sc totally agree. At these times men thought that woman were significantly less intelligent than men. How could one be so good at politics as a female ? Clearly she was very smart. All I mean is the majority of people just believe the “most beautiful woman” myth.

I like her, particularly the area where she taught herself to speak multiple languages. Unfortunately This documentary show she willing to kill her kins to get what her want. She even got Antony from Rome and got invaded by the Roman. All the charm, money and intelligence mean nothing when you lost your lover, kingdom and your life.

You're Born in to and adapt to the life you're given. Humans are amazingly adaptable. She was and they all were humans of their Time. We can't judge them because we didn't live in their time. We can only learn from their mistakes and grow from them. Into a better world where everyone is equally treated. People are humble and kind and take care of each other. And accept the beautiful differences that make us All human. Until We're all united as the brothers and sisters we are. Instead of being divided by them. You are All beautiful and I love you All fellow humans. God bless.
