It should also be added that: Many of Paul's group died in clashes with the Millis nobility's forces, and some blamed Paul for those deaths. Besides the Millis Continent, there were also the Demon Continent (the place Rudy got teleported to) and the Begaritto Continent (South of the Central Continent) that needed to be searched. However, there are two reasons why little progress was made in these places: One, there were only a handful of members including Paul who even had the skills to survive these places, especially the Begaritto continent. And two, Paul was afraid of going to these places only to die and leave Norn an orphan.

@@LAM1895 So they were actually dragging their asses for fear of death in more dangerous areas, and Paul really did just up and dump way too many expectations on his son cause "Hur der, you're good at magic". It's one thing to say Rudy should have tried harder, while giving your all. It's another to legit avoid the dangerous places, hear your son made it back from one of the "Hell" difficulty run (360 no scope), and then pitch a fit cause he doesn't know basic stuff (Of the event or adventuring). I would smack the funk out my dad's mouth if he expected all this from me, but found out he was scared of going where I had been.

@@Gration_ Well I don’t blame him for his cowardice because he wasn’t scared for himself but for his daughter. Still, considering how even he was reluctant to go to these places because it was so dangerous, the way he reacted towards Rudeus is even less forgivable because he had an idea of the difficulty. Geese just made him realize just how far he had his head up his ass.

@@LAM1895 Norn really isn't an excuse when he's in an area where Zenith's family has so much pull they just up and got people freed from slavery, on top of being an S class adventurer (Spolier stuff aside from Zenith's family on why that could be a problem). He actually had real options here. Paul expected our entire solar system from Rudy, and he damn near delivered the entire thing, anyway. The least he could have done was at least make an effort in other areas after switching from rescue to escort.

I've gotta say, when Geese was just tossed into Rudy's cell I thought he was just going to be some throwaway or a plot device as a means of escape. But goddamn, he was the MVP for me in these last two episodes. That man to man he had with Paul really gave him the perspective he needed at the time.

making his way to jail is harder than escaping, if not because of his friend. he wont be put in the same jail as rudeus. because getting thrown in jail naked is the harsh form of punishment in doldia for death sentence.

A super big argument in the talk of geese (if that’s how you write it) (ギース) to Paul that was skipped in the anime was the « if it was Zenith he had met instead of you, how do you think she would have welcomed him? » accompanied with a Paul picturing a smiling Zenith. To me, that is the killer argument that finishes to destroy Paul’s blockheaded mindset.

Yeah they had much more they could have done with this minor arc. It feels like they left so much off the table that would really flesh it out.

Two very important points I think should be mentioned are that Paul was utterly shocked when in the Novel Gease told him the minimum rank of monsters on the Demon Continent was C and going as high as S Rank. Don't forget in the Asura Kingdom monster ranks don't go any higher than C with the Assault Boat(?) I think is what it's called being the strongest monster in AK. And two when I believe he asks if I remember correctly would have expected the same of Ashia or Born at Rudeus's age. When he went to check on Norn he realized he had been unfair to Rudy and that no matter how amazing he is he's still just kid, an eleven year old kid, who unexpectedly saw his dad with neither Zenith Lilia or Ashia and with a skimpily dressed bikini warrior. And what does he get? Yelled at for not being even more amazing when he should be getting the seen where their hugging and crying, happy that his son it made out of his ordeals alive. And not missing a limb or two.

This contrasts well with how Norn gets the same treatment of being expected to grow up quickly like Rudy and Aisha end up and emulates her father where when things aren't going her way or certain expectations of hers aren't met she also develops a very poor and prickly attitude with how we see her quickly develop an antagonistic attitude with Rudy when everyone keeps comparing her to Rudeus and so she feels a subconscious despair over a standard which seems to keep growing at a rate she is incapable of immediately matching.

sometimes waiting for the next episode is painful, the wait after their first reunion was emotionally painful, but seeing these bits of additional story eases that pain, you cool, you rule, you awesome fool.

14:30 I was kinda hoping they would show the dinner party that Rudeus, Paul, Eris and Norn had before the departure. It was funny and cute of how Paul was warming up back to rudeus through the meal , Eris and Norn even got jealous through their conversations. Showing how Eris blushed after when Paul thanked her for taking care of rudeus. With Eris replying, “ It was him who was taking care of me”. And blushed a lot while eating, and Paul saying “ You got quite the traveling companion, as expected of my son”. And the scene of Norn pudding scene , had rudeus use magic to fix it and give it Norn. Rudeus scolding Paul of how he should treat Norn with more care since everyone is different. And show how Paul saw rudy and Norn similar to Zenith, with him smiling.

I loved it when Geese took Paul to the sewers to fight a strong monster, and he told Paul that Rudeus was probably fighting monsters way harder than this everyday in the Demon continent.

This has to be the first time I watch these skipped content videos when already read the source material, it feels rather nice to have experienced that missed content than just watch these from the get go.

You missed the best part. Geese brings Paul to the sewers to fight these giant alligator monsters. After a few fights, Paul is exhausted. Geese explains that the alligators Paul just fought was baby shit compared to the monsters on the demon continent. The fact that Rudy had even gotten home from such a place should be celebrated. But Paul's a dumbass and started a fight instead. This really digs deep into Paul because Rudy as a kid was thrown into it and Paul could barely keep up how was Rudeus expected to look for others when he was being chased by monsters worse than what Paul could barely handle.

Funny how that's a Manga original and destroys the world building created for the Millishion. It's better that they're adapting it from the LN.

Honestly, once i learned why Veirra wore such a skimpy outfit it made me love her so fucking much. She deserves nothing but the best, hope she has a happy future as the story goes on.

Honestly, Vierra‘s way of diverting attention is ingenious. I barely noticed her sister myself when I was watching XD

I have to say, I absolutely love how the manga shows the rage, hurt, and betrayal of rudy and Paul’s first encounter after the displacement event.

The great thing about Reunion was how it seemed to revitalize Paul. He was in a bad way and drowning in a bottle and by the end of the episode, he is bright-eyed and newly resolved to find his family.

That bit about Ghislaine admiting that she would probably lose to Rudeus even back then was very unexpected to me, because that technically places Rudy amongst the top 1000 strongest people in the world, thats INSANE to think about... So considering that Rudeus has grown ASTRONOMICALLY since then, only to get ABSOLUTELY destoyed by Orsted in the latest ep only goes to show what a MASSIVE gap it is between the "strong" of this world, and the "strongest" of this world

hes more of a prodigy than a genius. it came to him quickly initially, but he doesn't understand the principles behind what hes doing. hes' the 'instinct type'. its why he struggled to teach Rudy. compare his style purely learning by doing to ghislaine's style of explaining. he couldn't explain touki ( battle aura, fighting spirit or w/e they choose for the english translation) to Rudy. and ultimately, Rudy could not advance in the sword styles because of his lack of touki in summary, paul was talented...but dumb

I really, really love your videos. They are so well crafted, easily understood, fittingly visualized and calmly narrated. I jumped for joy when I saw you uploaded! Safe to say, whatever show you choose to produce videos on I WILL watch it.

It's nice to have all sides of the story and the context with it.

First of all, it will be sad to have a week break from your videoes. I really love the approach to subjects and the way od presenting, that you do. After the little read of wiki and watching yours and other videoes I've got to know a story a little bit, but I appreciate the level of details you present. To get to the content itself, I was a little angry with Paul for being a really bad father (I'm about his age now) and the way he treated Rudy. After a little consideration I understand his POV, but you showed his journey with time elapsed to get better understanding. He was still wrong to expect this much from his son, but somewhat tragic fate of his during this 2 years made him that way. He was kind of broken mentally at first, but after bar conversation with Rudy he was able to recover enough to get going. It was also pretty nice to see his determination to keep Norn save and getting people save. I'm sure that a lot of people were grateful to be save, but there might be few to be disappointed of him, not regarding good results with pretty bad odds. Like someone in the comments said Geese was the MVP on those scences. He was like a real friend, who was trying to help you without asking and wanting anything in return. Paul and his talk was really important to paint the bigger picture and getting Paul to understand the adventure Rudy got until the moment. To summarize myu thoughts on the episodes, it was really good presentastion of the flaws and authenticity of the characters. The way the auther painted them was so real and believable, so it was enjoyable and so emotional to witness. The one thing I'm sad about is that there is now enougn screen time to get the whole picture of the story. But in the other hand there won't be cut content series, so I won't complain in the end.

As one of those who started to read the oficial translated novel recently, I do see that many of things that WERE and still ARE really important to the story itself are being just left behind. Like Sylphie's father talking to Paul about her being so dependant to Rudeus and also Rudeus to her. He asked Paul to take action. Also a lot of miscalenous details that the novel gives us really makes a great experience. I've just started the 13th volume and I am amazed of how much I've been through just by reading it, I sincerely hope to see more adaptations from this novel. But I am not ready to see the what actually had happened in animation, I would just cry a lot.

I like how in the manga in the tavern scene you can see the picture of Rudy, Paul, and zenith slowly break and then when they make up you can see Rudy pieces it back together

Damn I wonder how much more controversial this anime would be if they went into these more darker topics with the side characters.

I know! All these side characters are actually very important as they are integral to fleshing out the world and all the small details give them meaning and not just a wallflower. There is already so much controversy with the main characters too so these darker topics would certainly make it very interesting. Money and time are constraints they need to follow but I guess it would be too difficult to keep the quality up if everything was added as well.

The darker one is after the transportation, how they need to survive in order to return to their own town. Some became a slave, got rape and died by the hand of human/monster/demon. Not only Rudy and Eris got teleport into demon continent. There is actually many town people got teleport there too...most of them got into tragic ending

There is one afterstory that got into a more "darker"?? Well atleast much more controversial topic and the result is backlash. The result is the author retconned it. Massive Spoiler if you consider retconned story a spoiler The topic is incest. First of, no, Rudeus didn't have incestous relationship with Either of his family members. Rather it was his son. His son got Aisha Pregnant. There were quite a lot of backlash from this story and IIRC it got retconned because of it.

@@ytho452 not sure if you realise but the manga skips more than the anime, the entire vol 7 is skipped. The manga May seem to have more content because it changes some events and adds some semi filler dialogue or other content

@@ytho452 the anime is a lot more faithful to the novels than the manga, the manga sometimes changes entire arcs, for example the arc that's about to get animated was completely changed in the manga, so much so that it is unrecognizable That's not necessarily bad, but it is very different, whereas the anime does cut some content (which is necessary when you adapt something) but mostly doesn't change the events themselves
