Do anything for 17 years 8 hours a day and surprise you will also know what you're doing.
I actually love how this technique focuses on hip escaping rather than climbing UP to the back. The climb up is always what I struggle with when trying to take the back from closed guard. Thank you for posting!

Same. The hip escape...the lapel control...this ish is going in my game ASAP.
Very similar to Roger Gracie's back take from guard. Refreshing to see such a young black belt focused on the fundamentals.

@@manofsteal537Gracie climbs the legs incrementally to the back while other person stays in turtle, very different from hipping out until they fall. Will try both variations, but assuming there is a reason Roger doesn't just hip out

What exactly is fundamental with it? And why is it refreshing?
@HelwigDorsuo

@@ScolopaxJJ as a BJJ instructor, I would answer by saying its a 4 point sequence that doesnt require unusual speed or flexibility to achieve. It relies on connection, timing and sensitivity to achieve. Its refreshing because people these days tend to gravitate to the newest and flashiest options that are often different just for the sake of being different.

@@ScolopaxJJ everything is fundamental. If you neglect any part of the game you are going to suck.
Old school moves, maximum efficiency of energy
His english is impressive. Sky is the limit for him.
17 year old bb, Jesus. Talk about spending your time wisely. Nothing but respect.
This is my favorite attack from closed guard! I love that detail about breaking the grip and pushing his hand at the same time. Will definitely try this out!!
This is a great technique I can't wait to try this. Also for being 17 years old Mica is an incredible teacher already!
This kid is a role model, not just because of his Jiu-Jitsu but his character is something else.
I really like the way how clear he explains the move, in the same time staying humble despite all Bernardo's legit praises for his talent.
Mica seems like a really cool, down-to-earth kid. Never change!
Wow ...The youngman is going very far in life. Mahalo the spirit is fresh....
Fundamentals, easy , efficient and effective. Make things simple.
I like the detail on the initial grip when you get your wrist behind their wrist in the arm drag position. I can't wait to try this.
These details are just wonderful
Bernardo, thank you for doing these and bringing the best to us. They are amazing!
Extremely humble and intelligent kid. Great video!
Will definitely be trying this tonight
This technique is so effective! Thank you for sharing this. This attack became my go to whenever someone is on my closed guard.
obrigado irmao sucesso pra vc!!
The same way I teach it! Love the way you teach it Mica!
Old skool👊 Respect! 🙏
Can’t believe how young this phenom is. What a wonder….
awesome. seems like a humble kid too!
Great lesson from Mica
This was a great video. Great job explaining the technique
Excellent
Brincadeiras a parte, sou fã dos dois.
Thank you I will try it
Super cool. Thank you
Bernardo That's incredible, that's amazing. Zero resistance
Great details! Wow!!!
Thats an incredible grip.
Mica looks dangerous, his english is very sharp as well, I will keep an eye on this little future champion!
Respect
Obrigado.
I've been using a variation of something that looks like this. Easy back take and also opens up for a triangle and armbar. Hard to type out but it accomplishes the back take
we just learned this...this week but with the Gracie back take or if he postures up you go under dive sweep! really interesting to see! gonna add this to my playstyle :D
Been working this lately, and it truly seems nearly unstoppable. Once I’m really good at it, it’s going to be a seriously sharp tool in my belt.
Takes cyborg down in training, wins black belt tourneys looking considerably stronger and more technical than most opponents, teaches in second language very well, and is 17 years old.
Good sweep
Going to be trying this next time I'm rolling 😁 thanks.
4:00 "Open open openy" 😆🤣
I have been doing this for a LONG time (slight variation). This is the first time Ive ever seen someone teach it on video! Nice job kid! Looks great!

This kid just submitted Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa with a bow and arrow choke. Hes unreal, and he is not lying about being old school. While he can do it all, its apparent watching him that his game definitely resembles old school more than new.
I also love to rewwwweeece the lapel
This old-school kid is great. I also like the old-school jiu-jitsu better than the new one.
Legit skills
I do something similar, but I’m going to try this method tonight on the mats. 👍

I use a super close version too, the biggest difference in this is the detail in the grip change to expose the back. I fucking LOVE that detail.
Closed guard is the best !
I don't quite get how your right leg prevents him from jumping and passing your open guard
@TheDomLouis
2 жыл бұрын
At 7:55 he has control of the opponent's right sleeve and the control of the newly held lapel under the armpit. That means he controls the whole upper torso, making it hard (not impossible) to jump over. Also the right foot is there, up, on the hip which means to jump over, due to the upper body control and slight twist, you could only really post properly with your head. Best way to find out is to try it with a friend 🙂 From mechanics perspective I think it makes sense to me. I'll try it out tonight during my BJJ class.
Wish i could watch Mica roll vs Bernardo
As good as that video was, my favourite part was "openy openy openy" 😂
There goes my entire game. 😂
Gracie Barra north Phoenix 2019.
This kid seems a good guy
What about doing this in no gi?
I wonder what bernardo looks like when he is mad. I can picture him mounting someone and punching yelling "this should be a huge honor for you to hit by me!"
Riu di onor for mi
This kid could end up being the Brazilian Danaher for instructionals.
Gordan better watch out this youngster is humble and has integrity.

It looks effective even without doping
7:42. I don't know about fishing for that lapel grip in real time. Someone will try to trap your arm
9:05
“Pass your gward”
How is it that I teach something and, with out fail, a day or two later there is a dude showing it on BJJFanatics?
Ok Bernardo who says: how simple is that...Anybody can do. Guys just remember most BJJ black belts who demo techniques on youtube, usually have drilled it hundred of times, please.
Belt systems doesnt work any more
Excellent
