BJJ Techniques: ARM DRAG TO BACK TAKE BY GORDON RYAN //
In this BJJ Techniques video, Gordon Ryan demonstrates the Arm Drag to Back Take Jiu Jitsu move.
Gordon Ryan is one of the greatest grapplers to ever compete. Having won several EBI's, ADCC, No Gi Worlds Double Gold, No Gi Pans, and more he has cemented himself as a legend.
This is a clip off of Gordon's new instructional series "Systematizing The Closed Guard by Gordon Ryan."
BJJ Fanatics was started by a pair of black belts (Bernardo Faria & Michael Zenga) who feel that nothing is more important than improving your BJJ skills as much as possible in the least amount of time. Their aim was to create a shop for BJJ Students who don’t look at BJJ as a sport - but as a lifestyle.

Love the wedge trap posting your arm and forearm ..helps get to the back better , great details and congrats on making double gold , hard for anyone to deny one of the best no gi grapplers in the world
Fantastic details like always! Thanks PS many times I know many of the steps but you add one extra detail that makes it better Thanks

Danaher and his DS, they explain every Detail, makes it easy to follow!! Thankxx a lot
Thanks Gordon. Good info. I have a similar goto back take, but you've added some nice detail that I will definitely use - higher grip on the arm, and direction the chest is facing!
Great details...Gordon is the King. And he honestly seems like a good guy.
Great details as usual!
I’ve been working this in, albeit not as technical as you, and have been having very good results. I need to add in the pendulum and some of the grip intricacies. Thank you for this.
He sounds like danaher... this guy is one of the best.
Very informative 👏👍

Amazingly explained and carried out. Would’ve loved to see a finish though. 🙂
One of my go to moves. I love that arm drag.
Love it
Trying so hard to drill this, the little details are brilliant.

Awesomesauce
Isn’t it interesting the correlation between John and Gordon’s delivery in instruction videos.
Thanks 🙏 gracias
new guy here, you know when you get into the position at 1:41 with the arms posted on the biceps, how can you prevent them from bringing one of their arms around your leg and sweeping you from there?
Gordon Ryan looks like if one of the hobbits took bane juice
GOAT
White belt question.... At 4:57 as you've isolated her right arm couldn't you lift your left leg up to her back, extend yourself backwards with her right arm, therefore flattening/controlling her out, with a side clamp. Then get 2 on one on her wrist/hand, swing the left leg over the head for a belly down arm-bar?? Or am I missing something??
too damn smooth

mkay straight out of southpark haha
I like the way he talks better than John Danaher, who tends to drag on and mumble a lot. Gordon communicates a lot more clearly to me and I get the point right away. It’s like a boiled down condensed version of JD but with his athletic experience as well to boot.
Gordon “mmmkay” Ryan 😆
He’s got the exact same “mmkay” and “alright” as Danaher😂

Grips will take your game to the next level yes. By just improving your gripping game, you will make a massive investment and jump in your jits. Watch the world champs when they compete, it's 100% about the initial grips. I forgot the guy's name, but saw a video on a guy who won judo World champs, and he ascribes it completely to superior grips.
Mmmkay
sweeet vid but i wish these would be done with a larger partner, since, you know, that's kind of the point of bjj. just about everything would work from him vs her.
