The Unstoppable Rise of Barcelona's Next Wonderkid

I don’t know what you were doing when you were 16 but right now Lamine Yamal is setting the world on fire at one of the world’s biggest clubs. A goal for Spain, a regular at Barcelona with concerns less about his talent than load management, and just recently a goal. A goal in la liga that will continue to send his star into the stratosphere.
It’s hard to tell where a player like Yamal will end up. What is tantalizing though, is that with this kind of start he could end up anywhere. He has shown the ability beyond his years reminiscent of the chosen few that have become the games very best. The eyes, and the pressure, will now be on him, and will be tough, but with the speed at which Yamal has risen, who would bet against him.
Much Love,
The Zealand

The biggest issue will definitely be load control. As mentioned briefly with Pedri as an example, if players start playing in the first team with first team schedules early on, while their bodies are still developing, they might end up injured regularly, eventually shortening their career lifespan. Possibly even never realising their full potential.

Leandro Damião was supposed to be a world beater but because he played so much as a teenager for the first time, his legs were obliterated. It is backed by science, why do you think Jack Wilshire became so injury prone? he was 18-19 playing almost every match for Arsenal and then played almost every match for England. IIRC Wilshire once played like 60 games in a season. There is a reason why so many wonderkids, ones that start in the first time from a young age, like Leandro Damião, Václav Kadlec and dozens more. It is too dangerous to play kids that are still growing and developing, It's a factor as to why so many of them fall, the injuries catch up. It's not about underachieving their potential, It's about their body. And with even more games being added next season through the new (imo terrible) UCL Format that turns it into a league so UEFA can grab more money through big matches, you'll see a massive increase in player injuries. @@michaeldeeping2452 And when Bellingham was 16-17 at Birmingham, he only played 40 games over the course of 2 and a half seasons. Compare it again to Jack Wilshire who at 18 played 49 games for Arsenal and 4 matches for England. You'll notice that after that season in 10/11 Wilshire became haunted by Ankle and Knee Injuries.

Zealand I have small suggestion about 'posting time'. Try to 'fit' them about 4PM CEST (Poland time). With that people from London, Berlin, Paris, Rome etc. will have those yt notifications when they finish job/school. That kid was the phenomenon in the recent U-17 Euros in Hungary. Painful for him when his country was denied by the French, who were simply far more superior than Spain but he was then considered too good to be ignored. If you want to deny Lamine Yamal, you can ask France on how they smashed Spain and Yamal's ability.

One can only wish it goes great for the kid, but it's sad to see the predatory ways of Jorge Mendes at work since a really young age. Mendes should be baned from football, that dude is a cancer and 8/10 times fucks up everything he touches. (See Valencia and Wolves for blatant displays of clubs where Mendes had a huge influence over)

Mbappe is a good example of how a Wonderkid should be developed...close eye from his family and coaches made sure he didn't join Madrid or Chelsea which would have significantly hampered his development... Monaco was the perfect fit, believe it or not Ligue 1 was perfect for him.

if i was real madrid, i would sign a random guy from the 3rd division, and only play him against Barca. On that game, the 3rd division player would have only 1 job - Take out Lamine. The player would be banned or suspended for a long time, but it didn't matter, since it was part of deal.

I hate "wonderkids". It is a stupid term. If you have multiple wonderkids every year, than non of them is a wonderkid - by definition. In every Generation, you will always have great players who are the best of their generation. This dude can get a ACL fracture nex week and end up having a mediocer career ending up playing for Elche after failing in the several number one clubs. Or he wont get a injury next week and will be a Messi. Or a Nani. Or maybe even just a Bojan

Alot of Barcelona players are a product of its system. The greatest of all is Messi, once they leave Barcelona they struggle e.g Messi (Psg) Pedro(Chelsea)and Bojan (many clubs). Messi knew he wouldn't have the success if he leaves Barca, only 2 teams can play his style is Arsenal and Man City and score 40+ goals.

Argentina plays a completely different style of football and messi succeeded. And he was past his prime when he went to psg. Pedro didn't struggle at chelsea. He scored at a similar rate in both Chelsea and barca.

@Tom-dn6zy Messi or Di Maria is the catalyst of Argentina, in 3 Copa America finals he choke, the last one Di Maria save his ass Messi was pathetic. WC cup finals again Di Maria was the main guy the driving force of Argentina. There is a difference between Messi in Argentina and Barcelona . Messi passed his prime 😆, he scored 48 goals in his last season with Barcelona before joining Psg that's couple of months apart. Don't give me that excuse

@@mauricewilliams3478 if you're gonna talk all cocky atleast get your facts right. He scored 38 goals in his last season at barca which was a massive drop off so his decline had already started. And he went to psg which was mbappe's team unlike barca where he carried most of the load. 2 best players award, 1 golden boot and 1 silver boot at copa americas. 2 best players at world cups. He was the best player in the wc finals, was involved in all the goals and scored in extra time. Messi was far better than di Maria in international competions and its not even close. If you have the guts name me your favorite player and we'll see how he stacks up against messi. I have a feeling who it will be😂

Araujo, Balde, Gavi, Lamine, and now Fermin are all key players that have come from the academy. Name any top club that has so many key players come from the academy, i don't think you can. Just because every single youth prospect that plays for the first team doesn't go on to be a regular doesn't mean they're a failure, in fact we produce more top flight players than almost every club in the world and certainly more than madrid. Don't forget the best team of all time the following players were from the academy: Valdes, Puyol, Pique, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta. Where are Madrids?
