The Unspoken Wars of Tamriel - The Elder Scrolls Lore

Ойындар

So as you noticed this video is a bit of a try out. Someone else edited this video to see if cinematic footage in my videos are a possibility.
While I really enjoy having cinematics on, I will not continue with cinematics and will revert back to my usual style. For the simple reasons that with cinematic footage I am not able to show specific screenshots and things that dont exist in the game. So this model of video is not viable for my regular TES lore videos, and thus I will not use this style for my future lore videos. I am sorry for people that actually like this style, that I have to dissapoint them.

Good video! Her saying, " We fought in many wars together " could have just been an oversight by Bethesda writers. It could simply mean, "We fought in many battles together" Battles that happened during the Great War. Wars consist of many battles, usually. Cheers

I don't have any proof for this, but judging from the fact that not all the people of the Aldmeri Dominion support their leadership, then there could be an invisible, undercover civil war in the Aldmeri Dominion of numerous discrete rebel cells of Altmer, Bosmer, Khajiit, or even mix-matchings of the three. Each rebel cell would of course have their own motivations and methods, and thus quite possibly would come into conflict with each other as well. And the reason why we never hear about it from the Thalmor agents in Skyrim is because they're all the way in Skyrim; such things aren't of their concern. But of course, something that has no evidence found in the games is a purely speculative fiction to a much larger fiction, I may very well be entirely wrong. I think it may also be possible that the Empire had fought the An-Xileel a while back for the Imperial citizens they had massacred. Same with the Aldmeri Dominion in the case of the Altmer that would have died there as well. But again, this is purely speculation.

As you said North Elsweyr is more Empire friendly. There could’ve been a small civil war between the north and south. The Empire might’ve been somewhat involved in it, such as lending advisors and material aid. Rikke might also have been part of the Nord Militia that kicked the Forsworn out of the Reach. It wasn’t an explicitly anti Empire war, in fact it helped the Empire. I see no reason to believe that she would’ve have helped her fellow Nords in this case.

An only battle that I have heard and investigate with very little luck and information is The Empire re-taking of Cheydinhal, This occured during the Forebear-Crown conflict and years before the great war (It doesn't say what years but it did mention 4E) we can speculate that probably revolutionaries against Mede took the city because he was already in power by that point, probably bandits took it like it happen in High Rock or almost the start of a new civil war in Cyrodiil that can backup you're evidence of the previous civil war in Cyrodiil.Of course the evidence is very week that's why it is speculation.

I find it interesting that the Legat speaks about several wars while in the german version she just talks about several battles they fought together. Probably just a mistake during the translation, but considering that the german version has a couple of easter eggs that are not included in the original (mainly through the names of the Quests), it just seems odd to me that they changed that particular line, even so the rest is actually as accurate translated as possible (aside from the already mentioned Quest titles/names). Maybe it was a mistake in the original that Bethesda never cared enough about to fix it.

It wouldn't be the first time something was lost in translation for the German edition of the game. If I recall correctly, where as in the English version of the game Irileth mentions ''Stormcloak assassins'' as a threat to Jarl Balgruuf, in the German edition it only says ''assassins''.

Does the Fighting in Valenwood NOT count it was an Armed Conflict of the Empire against the Dominion and vice versa?! What?! High Rock IS always Divided Politically and Ideologically from Within and Without the Empire, All it takes is ONE single Warlord King to start trouble in the Empire's Second MOST Vital Province! Oh an the conflict in Valenwood was 4E 29 so it was pretty early Fourth Era. But yeah I'd put my bet on High Rock, Argonia, and Morrowind experiencing some armed conflicts with the Empire!

Maybe during the great war, the empire aided Valenwood Guerillas or some minor An xileel group attacking the empire or high rock being high rock, trying to prevent one radical king from seizing the province maybe some imperial friendly part of morrowind under attack by pro isolatinist forces and the empire trying to hold on to what it has expended some men to hold onto that part of the province. although maybe a plague throughout cyrodil natural or otherwise decimated the population or another warlord trying to seize the ruby throne.

Could always be a series of minor conflicts between factions in High Rock that the Empire saw fit to involve itself in. And the cyrodiil conflict idea is certainly not too far fetched, as it’s very possible their isn’t enough legitimacy and clout behind the Mede dynasty still for their to not be occasional semi large conflicts. After all, Mede is certainly not as divinely appointed as the Septims appeared to be

in game they say the markarth incident only started this war, but there's been struggles with the forsworn, long before that... The Markarth Incident was a battle that took place after the Great War and before the Civil War in Skyrim. so the great war is certainly one of which rikke is referring to, but certainly she is also referring to the forsworn. the battle / war of the reach. the accension wars aka the argonian invasion, all happened within the 4th era, though the accension war happened in morrowind, 4th era year 6 , and it was way before rikke was even born.. so it can't be that.. yet the battle of the red ring (in the great war) instigated this civil war of skyrim ... because of the treaty they signed with the aldmeri dominion, where the nords felt betrayed by the empire because of the white-gold concordat BANNING the worship of their greatest hero... even for the empire he was a great hero, which the nords seem to have forgotten.. talos wasn't a nord! his race is actually not known at present day, but i quote: If the statement that he is from Alcaire is true, then he was most likely a Breton. It is said that Emperor Cephorus Septim II was the first Emperor of the Septim Dynasty to have been neither a Breton nor having spent any childhood in High Rock, which would mean that Tiber Septim could have been a Breton. According to Kier-jo, General Stormcrown was a Breton, not a Nord. Talos is the combined powers of three, hjalti early-beard, Zurin and Wulfharth he was the first of the septim emperors... which is also why even rikka and tullius... hell even the jarl of solitude and wife of the late emperor, Elisif... still worship talos in secret... meaning they have not surrendered their old ways to the aldmeri, but they have to keep up the facade to let the thalmor think they got it their way... they didn't... you cannot just ask people to forget their gods... much like when alessia (who decended from the nedes not the nords, breton or ra'gada/redguard) merged two beliefs after her rebellion.. auri-el has not been replaced with akatosh... nor did they ever replace talos with anyone else... you can kill a man but you can't kill an idea... i do believe that the sentense " We fought in many wars together " is an expression ... to say they've been through a lot together...though wars can be fought in many ways... i don't believe that she has been through that many wars, but battles or several wars made one.. which the great war was... and counting the wars with the forsworn i can understand her sentiment, but it is a bit of an exaggeration if you ask me... even if one war might be "one, too many" if you get me here... that might have been what she meant....
