SYNOPSIS
A 30 day, 620 km canoe journey through the expansive wilderness of Côte-Nord, Quebec. The route is designed to traverse the headwaters of the Romaine River, a river seeing significant change as part of Quebec’s major energy project Plan Nord, followed by the descent of the little-known Aguanish River. The goal of the route is to gain a first-hand perspective of the land of wild rivers as we paddle and portage our way across the Labrador-Quebec plateau to the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
This trip was supported by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and Mountain Equipment Co-op.

Really hope this isnt the last northern scavenger adventure of this caliber. Also like to say Matt makes a excellent addition to the team, hes seems very calm and level headed. Blows my mind that these guys only have 36k subscribers. i could watch a episode everyday and it still wouldnt be enough.

I’m pretty confident it won’t be the last adventure like this!

I agree, but honestly passed by you tube suggestions to their videos because I figured these "scavengers" were magnet or sunken log fishermen lol. I say change the name now to Northern Voyageurs and open every video with the wonderful "Voyageurs' Code" from the Crossing Labrador series. Yeah, I'm a marketing geek.

Exactly! This is some of the best content on KZread. They’re on another level. Literally in the middle of nowhere. I feel like these guys are about to explode 💥 Let’s go boys! 🇨🇦 although, the bloody belly button was 🤮 😂
Loved this episode! Matt’s gratitude and optimism are inspiring. I am so grateful to have travelled with people like that who lift the energy on a trip and it’s invaluable!

Each if you have your individual strengths that add to the sum total. A micronism that, perhaps, society - and the world, should heed these days...
I love the calm, respectful team meetings. It’s the key to success in the Wild.
Another great episode. I remember my timber cruising days cutting through the balsam fir forests of northern Manitoba and the years that the fresh "Christmas Tree" smell stayed on my rain gear. Wish I was there.
That old boat in the woods hey. You guys are trodding where very few have before. But how cool to know someone was there many many years ago. Great watch again guys! Pleasure!
Love watching these men thank you
Terrific account of your trip. And I really appreciate the geology interpretation.
Another fantastic episode! As a land surveyor in the Adirondacks of NY I could feel the excitement of finding the old cut line and flagging from years ago. That's exactly what I do for part of my job and it's very rewarding finding the path of someone from years past. Keep up the great team work!
You guys have inspired me to go on my first canoe-camping trip this summer! On lakes though, since i'm not good enough for white water yet. I just can't wait. Thanks for the great content once again!

Nothing wrong with lakes! It's where we all start and some never leave. Happy to hear you are going to do you first canoe trip this summer. Let us know how it goes!
Once again the amazing rapids, linings, portages, billion year old monoliths, and some amazing adventurers. Bravo!!

Incredible trip I loved it 😊✋
Great job doing it, filming it and editing it...top stuff!
The Portage looks like a beast. Great to see you 4 working together as a Team. Looking forward to seeing your successful Portage.🤠
Drinking game whenever they say "crush" some distance.
There is nothing that compares to following old routes and uncovering artifacts along the way. Also blazing new trail is among my favorite things to do. I will say I've never been quite that remote and isolated while doing it though. This series continues to get better with every episode. Can't wait until next week!!

We have had to make some cuts before to get through a portage, but nothing compared to this trip. I couldn't believe how many trees were in our way.
These videos flow so well they feel 10 minutes long. You guys are deserving of millions of followers for the amazing content you put out there. My new favorite channel by a mile

That bush must of been disheartening to confront! But the travellers of the past done it as well so......... 🤘🇨🇦🤘
Stumbled upon E9 Land of Wild Rivers a few days ago; watched 5 minutes, paused, and stopped; subscribed; went the Intro and E1 to watch in sequence. This far surpasses my white water canoeing/camping/bushwhacking/survival skill ability, strength, and endurance level. I keep thinking of Monsieur Bush Pilot asking: “Do you have experience on boat? On canoe? For sure? Lots of experience? Yeah, because it’s not a gift, eh? Young fellow.” These guys obviously do. Thank you.

This has become one of my favorite series ever on KZread. What a great adventure!
I recently started watching this trip. So glad to have discovered your channel, loving watching all the old videos while waiting for the new episode. There’s still snow and ice here on the Wahnapitae river in Ontario. It’s keeping us sain as we wait for the canoe season, and also giving me inspiration to learn to paddle whitewater this year! Thanks :)
These series are an inspiration. Thanks!
wow, I really love the drone shots! It really shows the context of where you are and what you face!
Holy crap! what great series, Thank you so much for bringing us along. Cheers
I just wanted to add that I'm completely loving this adventure. I hope your channel continues to grow and grow. Absolutely fantastic work, keep it up!

Way to go.. loving this adventure you are all taking part of
Gotta give it to guys...just a great series with great story telling/well edited and on time too. Just wish a certain pair of brothers in a certain trip through Manitoba were as efficient as you guys....I get the feeling ill be dead before that series is over at this rate...and I'm only 43!
Awesome video as always! Cant wait to see the portage keep up the great work.
Amazing as always guys. There’s just something about the way you do your videos…..can’t quite put my finger on it, but it just draws me in. And you got the canoe cams dialled in so the rapids show how tricky they are sometimes, even though they don’t look it from shore, yet they aren’t too bouncy. And I’ve seen some of those marks on stones before! Never thought about them, but I will now. Awesome trip, and you didn’t panic when you saw the remains of the canoe and boots of the guy who probably died trying to go your way. 😀

you guys are my favorites!!!
In all the explorer videos I have never seen such a dense forest, it is going to be very difficult to get through it, good luck, and I like your videos 😊✋
I loved the thoughtful and measured way you guys approached the problem of your portage route around the canyon, at the end of the episode. Enjoyed it thoroughly!
drop it like it's hot!!! can't wait, I'm looking for some popcorn right now.

@@NorthernScavenger I would love to take you and crew sea kayaking on the Chesapeake Bay… brackish water and not so wild but a lot of fun when it is windy!
Great video as always guys!
Really enjoying this series! Would love to see a full gear loadout post trip. I think a lot of viewers are curious about all the equipment you use. Keep the amazing content coming!
You 4 are beasts. Unreal what you are doing. I Love that you guys are blazing a new trail for others to follow. The female moose and calf was an amazing sight. This portage Looks so brutal. When you complete it, it will be super gratifying. Keep the Videos coming.
This was an excellent episode, mega Kudos.
great trip some of the best on you tube
Another great episode. What a slog!
After watching you guys chop through those woods making a path, I hiiiiighly recommend investing in a silky saw. I have the katana boy 500 and that thing eats through trees like no other saw and is easier on the operator than any saw I’ve ever used. It folds and is the sharpest saw I’ve ever come across. If not the katana boy maybe a smaller version trust me you wont ever look back.
19:00 thought you could sneak that toot past us.
Thanks so much for taking us along on this adventure. Your series makes me dream of the Aguanish but I'll just have to stay with my annual BWCA trips which are glamping in comparison. I so wish I knew about these possible adventures when I was younger. Anxiously waiting for each episode. When the series is complete, I know that I will watch the entire trip in one sitting. Thanks again.
I know this is an older clip how ever. I can never get over your guys motivation and positive attitude even when it is clearly crap. Lmao. I would hate to see what would actually break you guys
