Excellent vid, something to add to my list of builds I want to build.

What's fun is making a ship that was very much NOT supposed to tank into one. I started up a captain a week ago and was going to make her a healer (knowing the folly of that), and shifted her into drain tanking in, of all things, a Lukari Dranuur Scout Ship using Chronometric Inversion Field rather than Suppression Barrage. The build isn't complete but she holds her own in Elite Random queues.

*most expensive tank* 😅. I watched it all but zoned out after everything was basically lockbox 😂. Amazing build and video though!

I had no idea the adaptive console was effected by uncon while it was active. Great video Nic!

Thanks for doing this vid, looking forward to your support build. A few q's if you don't mind: - i know it defeats the purpose, but stuck on my own (ie. Swarm TFO lane), will I still do enough dmg on my own? Idk if 200k is a lot. - any idea how wide threat spreads? If I sit in the "middle" of Defense SB1 and pull aggro, will I cover the majorty of the map? - any tips on positioning? If I end up in a PUG random TFO, can I just follow the primary dmg dealer? Idk how quick threat moves over from a major DPS'er to a tank drawing aggro but late on positioning? I know this was more a showcase then a build-guide, but I appreciate you included some advice to replace X/Y item if viewer doesnt own it, certainly continue doing that in your vids.

haha thanks man, Funny enough the support video is getting uploaded as i type this, not 100% happy with it since its such an indepth topic that no one really does so i feel like its just missing some so ask all the questions and ill answer the best i can. So dps in most situation 200k is plenty since you don't have to get x amount in most tfos and the tank won't die, its only in certain tfo's like Dranuur Gauntlet elite where you need to get 10 dreadnought kills where if everyone is doing less then 200k you'll have issues. Threat is generally around your firing range, but with ba'uls its also outside of the 10kms with the refraction, and yes if you sit in the middle you pull most of the map in sb1. Positioning is basically look where the largest concentration of enemy's are and go and sit in the middle of them and say Hello, Threat transfer is a interesting situation, most of the time you should be there first for dangerous targets, ie Elite dread tac cubs basically any big targets, if not you could run the trait from the justiciar that is a taunt which will rip aggro straight away or the strategist taunt will do the same job in an aoe situation. And thanks for the nice comments man i really appreciate them :).

There is also another regular Ba'ul omni as well which you can also run with that other lobi omni, works great.

Did a very similar, little cheaper and more basic build on the Legendary Verity. It's practically immortal in Elite TFOs and can catch the enemy's attention rather well. Went with the Fleet Tactical Computer and 3 isomags for a little more oomph and without the Fek'ihri Torment Engine and DPRM but otherwise pretty identical. Opted for the Invulnerability Field Projector console from the Terran Pathfinder for emergency invulnerability instead, but haven't really had to use it yet.

Yeah i love the build.

Honored Dead trait is running at 65 mil on the exchange currently.

When you do build videos like this, consider posting timestamps for each section of your talk so if people are using this as a build reference they don't have to waste time hunting around to find the info they want. While it has gotten incrementally better over the years, STO's baseline respect for peoples' time is pretty low. That's not your fault, but we all notice when you do your best to mitigate any additional time sink on your end.

For ise and other less threatening content compare it say hse and korfez you could run isomags but I have fun with the build as is so just never felt the need to change

Thank you for this Nic! I plan on using this build on my Legendary Oddy tank since the boff seating is very very similar. One question i have is what would you reccomend for a player who doesnt have Agent Nerul?

There is a doff that is like 50% of what agent nerul is now, but that is fairly expensive from what I can remember, so tbh like if I wasn’t using 2 energy weapon officer another ewo to have 1 crit chance 1 crit sev

I have a similar tank build with a Voth Rampart.. Hangar has 2 elite support frigates because they also have Suppression Barrage III. So with them and SAD, I'm debuffing everything with Vanguard Specialization trait.

Great build - cheers. I shall be tweaking my ship more inline with this. What are your thoughts of this ship vs the Styx? Also, my tank toon is a Romulan engineer (back from years ago when I was trying everything). Do you think the reduced damage with no APA etc. is a big deficit?

The Styx is a beast probably arguably slightly better then the justiciar for debuffing purposes, but yes no alpha kinda sucks for threat generation and seeing you don’t get any great damage mitigation from engineering it just doesn’t come close to a tactical performance at the high end

@@Nic_NB Cheers. I ended up with many toons for many builds, back in the days when the game did an awful job at remembering loadouts. I have 2 engineers and 2 science toons on meta ships & builds. I don't want to try to get hold of all the character bound stuff again on just my tactical toons - such a pain - I guess I just have to live with it now but it would be good to see if I can transfer this ship to a tactical as I don't think there is much character bound stuff on it.

I was still on disruptor so i used your video and upgrade weekend as an excuse to move to a Styx tank on a tactical toon with the full Ba'ul set on. I can tell the difference in power and it is undoubtedly even tankier. I'm running Intel primary but can see that MW will be best in extreme situations.

For tanking you won’t need isomags, for dps if just keep using phaser

@@Nic_NB Sorry, I edited my previous comment to be specific which to be the 2nd console of the flagship set. =) Thanks for the heart never the less. ^^ But the shield offline alone doesn't help you tank, the turn rate boost however improves your evasion. ^^ But I'm not a pro, I just always use the 2-pc flagship since it's pretty cheap to use and so effective.

Umm, short answer would be run miracle worker, then drop the net drones for another colony console and then every defensive trait (Personal/starship) you can get your hands on and then just try and get whatever heal console you have

You seriously need to look at weapons buffs cos having beams under 1000 is terrible, I've seen players with 1500 , 2000 and 2500+.
