Thanks again for helping out yesterday. Ground is as fun and engaging as space, so I don't know why people don't do more of it. Plus I would rather do 15 million bug hunts than another Vault: Ensnared.

Thank you for this! I already have all the gear/traits you showed, but I'm an idiot and have been completely misusing ambush since I first got it. I never realized it could apply to kit modules, I thought it only applied to weapon shots... Literal game changer!

Ambush is probably the strongest tactical kit module in the game, and what's funny is it's been in the game since the beginning.

An Active Duty Officer I think deserves a mention is Elder Malik'itan. He gives a ten percent damage increase for both Ground and Space combat! The good news is he costs next to zero resources, and requires very little effort. The bad news is you need to complete a task with a Gamma Recruit, and this will take a few weeks to complete. The excellent news is that unlocking this Duty Officer unlocks him for every character (you'll have to go to the Temporal Agent to pick up this reward). The Gamma Recruit task is; Achieve rank 4 in six Duty Officer Commendations. While this isn't the fastest of tasks, it's reasonably easy to accomplish, requiring a few minutes effort every time you play. The easiest way to complete this is to set up Duty Officer assignments that pay out the highest XP, which are easily identified as they're often the ones that take the longest to complete. Keep an eye on the Commendations list that shows what rank each one is at. When one is finished, don't waste time working on that commendation category, concentrate on another. It's quick to set these running, just a few minutes. THREE ways to speed up this Recruitment task process. 1. Increase the number of Duty Officer assignments you can run. You'll need to join a Fleet (unfortunately!) and have access to the Fleet's store (don't waste time with a poorly run one, find a fleet that give instant access without stupid/child-set rules to get access to their store!). At the Fleet Embassy, take the Turbolift to the Shuttlebay. There you'll find a console that allows you to increase the number of Duty Officer assignments. This will require Fleet Credits (so Fleets run by intelligent players, that give instant access, will be rewarded as you'll obviously need to donate to acquire Fleet Credits!). 2. Make sure you have a decent set of Duty Officers. If you complete the 'chained' assignments in sector space, found at the Nebula/Cluster (square) icons scattered around, eventually you can start earning free purple Duty Officers, which can be broken down to blue ones to that can be used or sold to increase your roster. 3. Buy a CXP Bonus Pool. Search for this on the Exchange. Depending on your luck, these can fluctuate dramatically in price. It's probably wise to just keep an eye on these and only purchase them, if you care to speed up the process, when they're priced sensibly, and when you can afford them. Final tip: Duty Officer assignments differ depending on your location. For example, to acquire Colonists you'll need to access Duty Officer Assignments from inside your ship, while parked in space outside your faction's space station/planet location, or Deep Space 9. There are some high paying assignments at the starting location of the Undine Battlezone in the Solanae Dyson Sphere (and at other battlezone starting locations). So if the Duty Officer assignments aren't particularly good at your current location, check them again when you're in a different area.

About the snipers: The Na'kuhl shield can't protect you from one-shots. You have to survive whatever attack depletes your shield. I've been using it since it got added to the game, and... it's good, but not what I'd consider reliable.

@@AugmentedDictatorGames Yeah if your can just kill everything fast enough, the downside to the Nakuhl shield doesn't matter much. Longer fights? enh... not as good.

There is nothing to add to Valerie's comment 💪

The "Kobali Harry" mission is "Dust to Dust" and its obnoxious electrified floor plates for which I can never get the active/non active animations to appear. That whole mission needs a full rework but I, for one, don't want the devs to get back into that arc's design mindset. I only go through it for the officer hidden in the maze and recruit reward requirements. To any new players watching: the set reward from that mission is not worth the hassle of playing it three times, don't bother. Also, remember to get kit frames + modules during the summer event! They are all really quite good for free equipment.

@@AugmentedDictatorGames Agreed! And we saw a bit of a revival of this type of mechanic during the Terran Gambit arc recently... perhaps the new blood coming in on the design team soon is not such a bad thing for ground missions.

I’ve been playing STO for a good 7-8 years, it’s only been recently that I started to learn about upgrading equipment on characters and ships, getting better more powerful ships. The reason why I say this is because now the game is fun to play, I can pretty much obliterate space enemies, that were impossible for me to destroy, (with help from my hangar pets) and most ground enemies (Undine biotech battle armor and piercing plasma beam rifle w/ infinite fire rate) and channels like these have helped me out immensely, I still have a long way to go for upgrading and getting things perfected for my space and ground equipment not to mention my bridge officers equipment but I’m glad channels like yours exist. MUCH LOVE AND THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO

Excellent vid! Its really amazing with what can be done on the ground these days. I have been slowly converting out of my old AP build (Thanks Aries for the old build which served me well) into this. I just need to switch my weapon from the Ba'ul Full Auto with Tenavik Council trait to the Shax Cannon and either Adrenal Release or Shadow of the Black Mountain. Thanks for the updated vid.

Ba'uls full auto plus teneviks balances nicely with and may even beat Shax. There is a semisupported BHE run I did a while back for Zorp@whereisthypants in the SCM list; he's 20th or so (I'm not on the PC rn to check). His bolt burst + teneviks was like 2500 of his 4700 dps. I feel AP plus teneviks is still extremely viable in general play, as DPS runs are mostly about overkill

It'd be fun if I had some nanny players to go after a max one hit Haymaker on my Gorn. Solo I have done 60-70k hits without consumables like Large Kit Overbooster. Maybe I should go back and do a consumable boosted run some day. I'm sure over 100k would be possible with other people boosting it with kits and team boosts.

For DPS runs, Temporal Op primary, Commando secondary. Elite randoms I just stick with Intel primary temp Ops secondary for the best of both worlds.

Nothing without the Obelisk - espec if its 666 feet high :)

Absolute candor works with exploit kit mod as well. Unconventional gear+adapt for cooldown and survivability. And you forgot adaptive offense for CRITX

Kit performance > crit chance/severity. Always pick kit performance first because it is a guaranteed increase in damage or magnitude versus crit chance which is RNG.

I've always been meaning to ask, but does anyone know if Counter-Stroke trait (and its ground equivalent) is activated by the slowing effect from Terran Targeting Systems / Terran Vision? Also as a tip for Engineers looking to do more damage, I utilize a budget setup with stacking Equipment Diagnostic DOffs which has a fairly high chance of boosting damage (along with its standard effect of major damage reduction) on both weapons and kit modules. It's the core of my running tank along with the Adapted MACO 2pc for a free reusable Hypo.

I've been saving this vid to look into more detail. I've been using your last ground build which did wonders for my ground build, curious how this will perform on random elite. I just wished I could enjoy ground with the amount of visual VFX and no way to lower it. I just spam kits and hope everything dies

What's about the kummarka set? I've found it's the best for mobbing.

It's a kit module and you should be able to craft it in your kit modules R+D if your captain is Tactical.

Bought from a vendor in fleet Starbase, same room as the tailor, directly across diagonally from the tailor. Edit- also, for tryhard ground content, primary is always Temporal and secondary is always Commando

I tried the Na'Kuhl shield and it was a disappointing shield. It failed constantly and the npc's attacked me instead of the distortion and i was not immune to anything. I do love my phaser cannon though. I have Creative on my engineering main.

The purpose of that shield is not for its defensive ability, it's for the two-piece bonus with the weapon that gives a massive critd buff

How did you get your Kit Performance so high? I must be missing something somewhere... up to 293 out of combat

Keep in mind I have +100 from endeavors, +100 from my actual skill selections, and +127.5 from the Risian Kit Frame alone. Then you add in all the traits I am using, and BAM 500+ kit performance.

Rainbow tribble is better. Especially when everyone has it equipped and active.

It's actually not better for the person doing the DPS since the Gambling Device and the Rainbow Tribble buff stack, giving you crit and severity from the gambling device and all the crit chance from the nannies with their rainbow tribbles.

​​@@AugmentedDictatorGames but you don't get the buff if the tribble isn't active, and it maxes out at when 5 players have it activated. Rainbow tribble only buffs self based on # active, doesn't buff team. I can send you a screenshot on discord if you want

Where does the terran emperor environmental suit rank relative to the burnham enviro suit for this style of build like transdimensional tactics where the enviro suit would be equipped? It can be reengineered to 5% CrtH and 120% CrtD whereas burnhams enviro suit is 10 CrtH and 40 CrtD. Curious which would be better.

There is a program you can download called STO keybinds. You can create a file to map power to different key to suit your needs. There are several vids on how to use it.

what ground reputation traits would you suggest? you didnt really go into them.

well its a Lobi item. and those Lobi are more valuable than gold IRL :) Ridiculousness needing to open around 240 boxes for a Lobi ship which are useless, hope DECA change something about that issue - same as Phoenix box ships

But soooooo worth it. Last summer they could be had dirt cheap because no one wanted it. It got up to around 100m when the DPS crowd started snatching them up last summer. I imagine with Auggie putting it out there for everyone how cracked this is, it won't get any cheaper. Might not wanna wait on this one
