Awesome. Your conversations keep verifying what I’ve been intuiting with my own metaphor, which is seeing life as a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) that we are playing within. This corresponds with Bernardo’s use of the word “avatar” and Rupert’s use of a stage metaphor (ie John Smith / King Lear). In effect, we are players” (representing our True Nature of consciousness) role playing a “character” (representing our ego / identity) which we believe is us. But if we can realize that we are just playing a role and a character, we don’t have to be limited by it and can step beyond it. This leap of logic embodies the levelling up that occurs in a MMORPG but represents us levelling up our level of consciousness and awareness in life, thus increasing the complexity of the “game” but also deepening the richness of the “experience” gained from it.

Perhaps the best cinematic interpretation ever of this condition (Dissociative Identity Disorder) is the Malayalam movie "Manichithrathazhu" - highly recommend watching here on youtube for free with English subtitles. The lead actress Shobhana does an amazing job of portraying a DID patient in a very believable way.

A hand full of kitty litter also kinda look like a brain. It's essentially the same thing.

Reintegration doesn't usually bring the entire memory of each. Many experts, skills, talents are often lost.
