I simply don't understand why they didn't just have the more human-shaped characters show their faces and wear wigs... Like it would be less "cartoon accurate" but also a lot less terrifying/distracting than the weird eye mask/helmet things lol

Her name is Ashley tisdale, she was also the voice of Candice. That's why they use her in the realistic cartoon. I was out of the age range that the show was targeting when it started , but I loved it immediately. I have every episode recorded on DVD. I'm a big animation fan.

They could've just made them look like REAL people, because they transported to the REAL WORLD. That would've made total sense to the audience. (Probably would've helped the budget too🤷‍♀️) Doof and Perry can stay tho, they're fine.

i actually saw this live in a local city in my state, and when they invited kids onto the stage one of the kids started to try and fight Dr. Doof. Like my guy was throwing fists at him and the girls dancing had to take him back

The terror felt when seeing 3d Phineas is similar to whenever he would look forward in the show. He always looked so weird and strange so honestly the 3d in person version isn't far off from how it looked whenever he looked straight forward in the show.

Wow, I'm glad the costume designer eventually got a chance to work on something with a proper budget and show her skills, because if I were her I'd hate to have this be the last item on my resumé.

I was at the age where I was phasing out of liking Disney Channel when this show started, so I really had no idea there was a live show of it. What really sends me is the inconsistency. Phineas, Ferb and Buford get whole costumes, but Candace, Isabella and Baljeet are just normal dudes? Weird.

Amazing how the costume designer for this show went on to create the Nintendo Land costumes which look GREAT.

i saw phineas and ferb live when it debuted in lakeland, fl. i was 9 years old and was obsessed with all things pnf, going to disney often to see the pnf related attractions they had the time. i was looking forward to seeing perry as i have always wanted to meet him in the parks (and still do!), but never got to as he was so hard to find. i was...disappointed to say the least. 😭 it was a really good show, the parents enjoyed it for sure, but the costumes were so... wow

Funny enough, I asked Phineas' voice actor, Vincent Martella, at a convention last year about which costumes he'd prefer, the live show or the theme parks. And he and I both agreed that the costumes from the parks look better than the live show. Also, I feel that Cynthia Nordstrom should also design costumes for the Disney characters at some point.

I remember this one clip where the Phineas performer goes 🎵 "Locating Frankenstein's Brain" And the prop hand passes the brain, only for the performer just HAS NO GRIP AND LOSES IT IMMEDIATELY 🤣

I feel like Dan never watched the show he seems genuinely surprised by some of the stuff thats all from the show lol

I love live stage adaptations of animated shows so much, the potential for cursed costumes are off the charts. I almost started cry-laughing when Phineas’ head wildly flapped back and forth as he spoke.

Phineas and Ferb is a really good show. I’m also pretty sure the original song for the tour is the only original song for the tour. The other songs are the from the show. S.I.M.P, Busted, Miniature Disco Golfing Queen and Summer Belongs To You.

The Perry, Doof and Buford costumes look great! Everyone else's is pure nightmare fuel.

I actually WENT to this with my cousin, so we have the experience of seeing this live. While yeah, it does look creepy, a part of me can’t help but have a soft spot in my heart for it, cause I saw this when I was a HUGE Phineas and Ferb fangirl.

I'm just wondering what happened in Doof's childhood to inspire his Broadway plot

I love how the plot is for us to love Doofensmirtz but I was already in taken the second that costume popped on stage. His articulations are brilliant for the evil-but-not-evil villain of the show

I definitely recommend Phineas and Ferb to anyone, no matter how old you are :) it's genuinely funny, fun, and clever all at the same time and I still discover jokes or things I missed to this day Also simp, disco miniature golfing queen, summer belongs to you, backyard beach, and follow the sun were all from the tv show, and I might have missed some Oh and doof's broadway style musical numbers are surprisingly common in the show lol

At least Jack Skellington is non-human, so his park costume makes sense and I grew into liking the costume (I get being unsettled by him when I first saw the pics of him in the parks though), on the other hand the PnF characters are mostly human so making most of them helmet-bug-eyed-cowl-live-costumed characters is a new level of nightmare fuel/uncanny valley (And this is from a scream street mascot pfp lmao)

Omg I saw this show at the same place TWICE. This was my favorite show when I was younger it was like a dream come true for me. I still have the photo I took there, it came in a PnF themed frame and the backdrop was their backyard and they had a plastic perry little kids could sit on (which I did haha). I also still have my perry flag I got from the show in my room to this day :)

I remember wanting to go to this because I was sooooo obsessed with Phineas and Ferb. But at the last minute they canceled the performance in my area and replaced it with another Disney live tour. Probably for the best that I missed out on it. Those costumes are pretty terrifying, and it feels very pandering to the kids who only remember the season 1 episodes.

… and yet, I STILL love this show. I felt like such a cool kid when I figured out that Ferb’s silhouette and the Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. building shape are the same. But ohhhh howdy … yeah … the live show looks like it’s helmed by Lucio Fulci.

To let you know, I absolutely loved Tiffany Westfall as Perry! She was awesome and adorable as him! I know that if I met her as Perry, I know would give her a lot of hugs cuz she’s my favorite☺️🥰😍

i remember going to see this show when it was touring. It was a wild experience and I don't think ill ever forget it. But i must say, a lot of the stuff you were confused about/surprised about by the show wasn't really surprising because it's all stuff that happened in Phineas and Ferb. The beach party scene, the Doof Perry plot, etc etc, were all in the actual cartoon. Also, i vividly remember only One part of the show, and it was when they all get tambourines thrown to them from offstage, i remember Baljeet just completely missing the catch on his tambourine and it just clattered to the ground.

Phineas and Ferb was my childhood, even today I still go back with my brothers and rewatch old episodes but I’m really glad I wasn’t made aware of this nightmare fuel when the show was in its prime.

I don't even know what's creepier. This or the The Fairly OddParents live show from Spain.

After 18 minutes of looking at these costumes, I started to get used to them and they looked kinda normal… Also, now I’m broken inside and blame Disney Dan.

This musical sounds pretty hilarious, regardless of the costumes.

Absolutely nightmare fuel, but phineas and ferb is my comfort show. Anytime I'm having a bad day, I turn the cartoon on and it helps.

Jezz, these costumes are Icecapets levels of creepy. Especially because they tried to combine the aspects of costumed and Face character and ended up getting the worst of both worlds. Like either make everyone a complete costume or make everyone a face (except Perry of course), Phineas would've probably still been cursed but that's just how he looks like if he's looking at you directly. Btw I find it infinitely funny how Dan is trying to explain the shows and I'm sitting here going "Yes of course, just like in the Show." 😂 Also where is Stacy? They literally played one of her songs (Mini Golf Queen) without her? *Blasphemy!*

I'd love to see a video about Journey into the Jungle Book. It was a show at Animal Kingdom that started way back on opening day, but eventually got replaced by Tarzan Rocks!, which then got replaced by Finding Nemo: The Musical up to today.

Dan i dont know if you know this, but the plot to just about every episode of Phineas and Ferb has Dr. D trying to do the same kind of plan. It sounds crazy when you hear it one off but its normal in the show. I need Dan to just watch one episode of Phineas and Ferb, just one cause its everything that he thought was weird with the plot of the live action. and the reason they use ashley tisdale as the "live action" version in the show is cause she voices Candace

I did go to see the show live for my birthday around when I was turning 7. I don't remember too much about it but I do remember the costumes being vaguely unsettling...

Oh, I remember this. I saw this show twice. The first time I saw it was up in Syracuse, NY back in 2011 and then, the second time was down in Binghamton, NY a year later and I did remember enjoying it because I was a fan of Phineas and Ferb around that time. Looking back now, especially since after re-visiting the entire show with its 2nd movie, Candace Against the Universe, I'll admit, I like the idea of the live show and they did a fine job in what it's doing, but I do agree the costumes for it does look a little awkward looking back. But I will admit, if there's a couple things I enjoyed about the show looking back that is incredible, is one when Act 2 started and Dr. Doofenshmirtz tested out his Audience-Control-Inator, they brought in members from the audience to be their test subjects and I remember during my 2nd time seeing the show, I was one of the lucky people asked to come on stage and be one of the test subjects. I'll admit, I had a blast with it and it's just so incredible. Plus beforehand, I got a special gift from the entire cast around the same time as my first time seeing the show for my Birthday of 2011 which is a card like flyer with the live show's logo with the entire cast's autograph all over it. Which I still kept to this day. So, yeah. Great memories from the show and I'm glad I saw it twice within a couple years during the time.

Costume design all comes down to budget and the influence of the director. You can conceptually have great designs but if you only have a small budget or not a huge team to build costumes, then you can end up with this kind of crazy nonsense haha!

I remember seeing this with my friends in 2012 and enjoying it like a bit (mainly cause I was big fan of the show back then) but looking back at it all, IT WAS ONE OF STRANGEST AND FUNNIEST THINGS EVER

Have you seen MWCA, the Phineas and Ferb musical on KZread? It is amazing! The actors in it are freakishly similar to the source material and it is everything Phineas and Ferb Live should have been!

After seeing and trying to unsee the unholy horror of the Phineas, Ferb, Ursula and Hades live show costumes, I'm starting to believe that Disney has deals with child psychologists across the world. After Disney scared the Mickey Mouse shaped Graham Crackers out of the kids, they get a cut of the payments on the visits. 🤣

I went to go see the show when it came to my town when I was little and I had an absolute blast! Looking back at it now these costumes are terrifying but I will always have fond memories of me and my friend singing along with the songs

Been feeling pretty down lately, today especially's been long and hard for me because of life stuff, but I gotta be honest, Dan's laughter is so infectious I couldn't help but laugh along when I haven't done that for weeks. The flashlight bit from the Perry introduction is similar to a bit from Disney’s Pleasure Island PI 2000 Dance Party- they had the dancers come out and do a synchronized dance with giant hand flashlights

i never saw this live but saw the video of the show. other than the nightmare costumes, it’s one of feld entertainment’s best productions! the writing is genius and captures the essence of what made the original show so charming!

The tour actually ran from 2011 to 2013, around the time of the height of the show's popularity. And I think it's interesting that the costume designer went on to create Nintendo costumes for Universal, which would probably make me think that the crew didn't have much time to put a lot of effort into it. This was announced in May of 2011, three months before the first show. I would say the highlights were the few costumes that actually looked good, and that the actual voice actors recorded the dialogue. But if you want a really good (and unofficial) P&F live show, Musical Without a Cool Acronym (MWCA) is the definitive one. Plus, the virtual version got the creators and voice of Phineas for cameos.

Speaking as a massive fan of Phineas and Ferb Most of this show is based on various episodes of the show particularly from seasons 1 and 2 lol From what I see there actually isn’t much specific to the live show, other than the stuff that’s specifically referring to the plot of the show it all comes from the TV show

I remember seeing this show when I was a kid, I don't think I realized just how funny looking the costumes looked, but seeing this really was nostalgic! I still have an Agent P mug from the show merch that's like a figure of his head, and you drink from it by taking off his fedora!

I love Dans laugh, there is no throttle/level of pitch, there is only “Not laughing” or “Disney Villain Crazy laughing”

I wonder if there was some focus group where they asked a bunch of kids to name their favorite Phineas and Ferb songs. And literally all of them said songs from season 1 except the two or three that brought Summer Belongs To You up. Guess that explains why those are the only songs anyone on Tiktok seems to remember.

I actually went when I was in middle school. My mom got free tickets due to working with a sponsor for the theater the show was going on in, and we didn't have anything better to do so we went. It was... something.

Here’s the thing, I understand what they were going for. They were going for the classic “taking the characters from the show and putting them on stage.” The problem with Phineas and Ferb however is that a lot of the characters have very distinct and specific looking designs. So obviously there’s gonna be some problems when translating them into a live touring show!

I love how your clips and background on the desktop come from Rollercoaster the musical, my personal favorite episode. For what it's worth, as horrifying as these characters are in 3D, there are definitely weirder things in PnF canon. Also, personally offended they had they audacity to do Disco Miniature Golfing Queen without the original DMGC Stacy.

Disney Dan's laugh is one of the best laughs in KZread.

I saw this live and loved it lol. I used to babysit for my mom's bff and she only let her kids watch certain shows one of which was Phineas & Ferb so she and I took the kids to the live show. I still watch it on Disney+ all the time and those kids have started college now 🤣

I remember seeing this show live when me and my sister were little and it came to our city. My sister was actually picked to go up during the intermission segment. I remember even then thinking that something was off with most of the costumes. But looking back on it now, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I WASN'T TERRIFIED OF THESE AS A KID!!!

I actually remember seeing a commercial for this live show. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought it was horrific to see but my goodness I really felt bad for everyone else that saw it at the time. But other than that, Dan, Phineas and Ferb was like the Rugrats of Disney Channel. You missed out on those great times my man.

I've actually only heard of this performance like a month or 2 ago and man did I think this was creepy. I saw an iceberg video where they talked about it and that's where I first saw it (called The Phineas and Ferb iceberg explained by Book of Valis). Also, my sister and I used to absolutely love this show when we were kids!! We watched the episodes on Disney's website as well as Netflix when the episodes were on Netflix back in the day (too bad they're not now).
