If you invest expect 2-3 years for a big return. It won't happen overnight.

@pokemonstatcg that is doubtful. The alternate arts will be in demand. Every new set that comes out is considered sub par and then 3 years later it's worth more and people are excited to crack packs that used to be everywhere. Now availability may lower the long term price but the crack culture will likely keep the prices up.

I feel like scarlet and violet prices are insane, the booster boxes to start off with are expensive and the pulls are cheap in relation. Gives me the feeling that the print runs must be mega

agreed although recently they’ve been making the pull rates harder!

Nice vid, but I've been hearing the same comments and statements during each generation. People were complaining about too big print runs, too good pull rates or too many people hoarding products. I am still convinced that buying and holding seald JP and ENG booster boxes for 5+ years will on average give you similar returns as SM and SWSH. This hobby is nothing for people who already expect 200+% returns after 2 years.

I agree with you, a lot of the price action In SWSH has to do with people marking up the price of their boxes just bc of the potential growth not bc its currently worth that. Too many people holding cases of these sets I agree but not everyone will hold long term a lot of people will sell out at $50-$100 profit per box IMO, if you're a collector and are here for the long haul I think you'll be okay

I heard this in xy, sun and moon and sword and shield! and they still going up, i think in 3 years time people gonna say the same for the next sets to come but in reallity everything gonna go up even if it's just because of inflation

I have thought about your points and I agree with all of them. I think the singles will suffer in the future if the demand isn’t there but so far demand has been there. I also believe more packs than ever are getting opened by miles due to all the Poké tubers busting product for sales and entertainment which will lower quantity ❤

The last SV box (shiny treasures) i bought was 3 months ago hahaha it was from diff pokemon centers in Japan😅. I skipped alot of SV sets after 151 set due to im not a really fan of SV pokemon in general. For upcoming SV sets i think i will focus more to the dragon set "Paradise Dragona"🐉🐲 i heard Latios and Latias included in the set.

I picked up a case of SV on eBay for £470, seemed like an absolute no brainer being well under distro prices. Although I think SWSH may be stronger long term like you said. With SVs amazing IRs, the sets are stronger than some early SWSH sets. I think there’s still great long term potential with every modern pokemon set. Although more are aware of modern sealed investing these days I think the reality is most people that buy into them don’t even manage to hold them 3 years let alone 5

i only have 1 box of the set - very strong set list just very high pull rates, but I guess it depends on your entry price!
