Yes. I am not involved much in politics, but enjoy a good discussion with those informed. I also admire those who can make real changes. I was just discussing with a friend (today) how proud I was of another friend who got a "no tolerance" policy amended in TX after his son was sent to a high school boot camp for a minor infraction. It took several years and didn't benefit his son, but it did help to make the policy more flexible and logical.

And as far as my "icks"? Blatant hypocrisy for one. Also arrogance, snobbish and conceited people (aka "stuck up"), and manipulators.

As an INFJ, I am now very knowledgeable in politics and preventing people with alternative evil motives that will continue to inflict pain and take basic human rights from people using religion as manipulation. We speak out against injustice & advocating for equality, inclusion and the individual freedom, liberty & rights for all Americans. We are Narcissists' worst nightmare!

Completely disagree with the political stand of the INFJ described here. Even when we are not sure of who deserves our vote, we are mostly sure of who does not deserve it. I believe initially we are observant in political conversations to figure which side the ppl we are talking with lean towards. The state of the world and our countries is absolutely a topic INFJs are concerned about and we are likely to cast our votes

Infjs minds are so ever broad and expansive and ever so open minded, even in the realm of politics, it is just in such a limited scope for those particular infjs to really explore using our creative imaginations with. I much prefer environmental subjects, space exploration, science and technology, and ancient history! Also extraterrestrial life forms. :)

​@@PSYCH-OWe are all different but have many common threads in our thinking patterns. For most INFJ's, the political scene is nothing more than theatrics (incidentally many political leaders are former actors...qu'elle surprise) I dont believe INFJ's have much inclination towards poilitical goings ons, any more than it is likely for us to know all about the different celebrity gossip. Where politics are concerned the streak is very strong in INFP's, which incidentally I wholeheartedly believe is one of the most mistyped "INFJ's" due to how similar we are in alot of ways. They are far more likely to be passionate about such things as well as motivations to get into politics as well. Many "experts" that deal with typology often use interest in politics as one of the cliche characteristics of INFP's. I think the channel is spot on in its original idea of the whole political scene giving INFJ's an ICK feeling. Characterizing it all as a charade was more than accurate imo. We pay attention to the patterns and clues, and see past the veil or smoke. Many of us can see that humans are manipulated into the same corral that has 2 different doorways: 1 labelled democrat, the other labelled republican. All the while not many realizing how far we have veered from either a republic or a democracy. Ive done a ton of tuning out of political debates over family dinners😂 I do enjoy a good debate sometimes but in this case there is no "side" to actually debate from...its all an illusion :)

The politics portion of the video does not match me. I vote in every election and am very aware of politics. What gives me an ick is to have a political discussion with someone who will not consider other political views because they need to be right about their own.

@JakeJLivingston I didn’t take the word “ick” as seriously as you seem to have taken it; in this case, “ick” seems on par with “off putting,” which has a gentler, less slangy ring to it. The use of the word “ick” didn’t bother me, and I never got the impression the narrator was talking about some kind of extreme “ew gross” reaction. Similarly, when the video opens with “welcome back psychos” I don’t believe it’s a sincere jab at INFJ’s-it’s playful. I believe this channel is for all INFJ’s, not just “mature” INFJ’s. I’m not talking about age when using the word “mature”; I’m referring to a healthy sense of identity as an INFJ. For some of us this comes later in life, and the road isn’t easy. And for me, silly slangy words such as “ick” and “psychos” help lighten the load a tiny bit. So, for all the INFJ’s out there (and everyone else, too) take the time you need and the information you need to grow. Be kind to yourself along the way. One last thing. I don’t think growth (as in “now I’m grown up”) is a destination; I think it’s a process-it just keeps going. What do you think?

While i agree mostly with this video, there are so many sensory icks that i feel could be a whole other video lol. Perfectionisim makes it difficult to live in an imperfect world.

Well I am an INFJ and the point one is odd. I try to live by the book and conform to societal norms to blend it. Only my interpretation of how things should be doesn't fit what people assume it to be. I will give you one example. I like to be polite and will address people accordingly. But my formal attitude often comes out as stiff.

Sorry, but an overactive ick response is a sign of immaturity. It’s one thing for stuff like this to take a chip out of your admiration for someone, but of you actually have an “ew gross” response, that’s a sign you have some growing to do. Pretty much everything you say lines up with my experience as an INFJ, but any mature INFJ will be able to see the human on the other side of the superficial nonsense. No ick required.
