I really enjoyed Season 3 and I hope the series gets at least 1 more Season. If so, Season 4 needs to have more scenes of the Umbrellas and the Sparrows fighting alongside each other, as well as give us more information on the other 29 children born with superpowers.

Is it just me, or is no one paying attention to the fact that, in the Season 3/Sparrow Academy time line, only 16 super kids were born? That's way more moms killed than just the ones Harlan knew about. In both realities, Hargreeves only chooses 7 to raise. Seven is the number he needed to "power" the Oblivion thing, to reset, to gain his wife back. Remember he releases the "fireflies of light" in Season 1 (I think), which is what creates the pregnancies in the first place. I think he kills himself in Season 1 because Ben was already dead, so he couldn't reset the universe with just 6...unless he brought the remnants together (for a funeral) and they kept figuring out ways to stop the apocalypse, and/or find other super kids (such as Lila). Notice also how he yells at Ben that "I reunited the families..." because Hargreaves doesn't care how the family gets united as long as he winds up with at least 7. Also, on another random note, notice that Allison is still injured, and did NOT have her powers sucked out of her, so it's entirely possible that she still retains her powers. Looking forward to more answers in Season 4.

The whole "Don't say 'alien', just say he's.... British" line had me laughing so hard! It's especially hilarious since it's an Irishman playing an American saying it to a Brit playing an American. 😂

The insinuation is that Reginald has been trying to reset the universe/time to bring back his dead wife for centuries. In order to do that and create a new timeline, he needed to "ring the bells" and defeat the guardians. So he released the "sparks" to create super humans and has been grooming the Umbrellas/Sparrows to defeat the guardians. Thats why Pogo left in this timeline, he knew the plan and didn't agree with it. And his deal with Allison was likely that if she helps get everyone together to ring the bells, he will change the timeline so that Clair and Ray are both there for her.

The Oblivion Hotel was a "universe-creation/rebooting machine", and Reginald tinkered with the parameters before Allison pressed the button. He basically defined the new universe to include Ray, Claire, Abigail, and "Hargreeves Rules The World". I don't know if they lost their powers because he specifically included that in the parameters of the universe, too, or if it's because the particles that gave them powers were extracted to power the machine.

I think it’s because the particles were extracted from them. If you noticed, Allison still had that wound on her arm after she hit the button. Five’s arm mysteriously grew back after the reset. And of course, she along with Reggie were the only ones who weren’t on the sigils. So Allison might still have her powers.

He too their powers for himself. Umbrella lacked skill, Sparrow lacked teamwork, so Reg said he will handle it himself. The only ones with powers remaining will be Allison, and she will be the key to everyone else getting their powers back thanks to Viktor now understanding how to transfer that gift.

@@unforeseeable2.058 One thing I noticed is that Luther didn't just lose his powers. His huge physique was because of the serum he was give, not his powers. So either Hargrave could pysically change them, or the reset changed the past so that he was never given the serum, editing the past and the universe, not just the physical place around them.

@@unforeseeable2.058 I think he took their powers because even after all that happened Victor was still able to power up but went ahead and allowed Allison to press the button.

They needed a time jump. Now, 5 can grow old on the show to keep up with the actor that plays him. Also the only way to solve a paradox is creating a new paradigm that can absorb it and solve it. That is how it works on science and philosophy. So, it makes sense that they had to "redo" the universe to solve the paradox. You needed a new model.

So if you listen closely, the announcer initially speaks in Korean. My theory is that this Ben is a version of Ben who grew up WITH his birth family. He was never adopted. Never learned of his gifts. Went on to live a traditional Korean life.and THAT excites me for the future.

I don't think he even has a gift/superpower. Reggie needed the powers to fuel the machine to reset the universe and in the timeline he reseted them into they were born without powers cuz there's no need to them anymore. I guess only Alisson has powers cuz they weren't sucked out of her

Dude Aidan Gallagher's performance as Five is just spectacular one of the best actors in the show. I remember watching him on Nickelodeon's Nicky,Ricky, Dicky and Dawn, wow he's come so far so happy for him😊

The show runner said he wants to do a fourth and finale season to wrap the story up. But as of this moment still no season four confirmation. *cue me at home training to box Netflix itself until they bring it back

Its funny yet ironic that klaus actor also had immortality in another show called The Misfits. I would always say "oh dont worry, he'll be back" everytime he died lol.

I feel like alot of people are overlooking the fact that the last half of this ep literally told them that this 'universe' we exist in, is an actual simulation with an external control box that can reset, reorganize or delete this universal iteration... Two Bens is cause Hargreeves rest the universe from when his wife died, so the alternate timeline ben that was outside the simulation was buffered from the original timeline reset so o.g ben exists as well.

That’s not exactly true. The universe isn’t a simulation per say but more of tv. It has a control box but everything in that is real to the people in the box, this why Klaus’s mother said “we get all the channels “ The creator(s) see each channel as a universe that can be flipped between. The kicker is the remote doesn’t just stop, speed up or rewind but it can delete or restart like a dvr. Hotel oblivion is the equivalent of a control station or the remote.

Im struggling to see what your disagreeing with other than the minutia of a metaphor. Your still saying the same thing tho so least we're on the same page. Sounds like you're kinda just splitting hairs with it being more a t.v. than a program just to help your frame of reference. That the universe they exist in the context of the show, that universe was created from scratch(big bang). That the standard model is itself a created model with ultimate reality (game engine) backdoor control via their 'deus ex fantasia' particles that act as a powerbank needed to render out the code alterations. I actually think im just annoyed that you're essentially comparing this to 'Click' with adam sandler lol. The 'programmers' themselves are apparently also long dead. This has been running for awhile. In the context of the show, it is just that.

Tho i do wonder what the actual universe looks like. Is it essentially the same? Or is all matter made differently. Oooh maybe that place is like the 'vanishing point' from D.C at then d of time/program where the simulation/program/universe has advanced enough to make its own simulation just as the parameter rules of the simulation essentially run out/decay and they start their own. There’s a QR code next to Ben on the train. It takes you to a website with Pogo’s tattoo designs.

It’s the original Ben that died, he’s holding a book with umbrellas on them and he seem to feel something when the rest of the siblings arrived and looked up and smiled knowing his siblings are finally here that’s my take on it!

I still think it’s crazy Hargreeves didn’t tell them the plan, because if you told them “oh yeah I can rewrite existence to be whatever we want” they 100% would be on board

I hope we get a few more series. We have so much left to explore. The other kids. Klaus and dave. Developing powers. Id like to see them face something that isnt the end of the world but is personal to them.

Yeah the Ben thing threw me off too, then my daughter pointed out that Ben came up in the elevator with them, so there are TWO Bens. Each one might have a Doppelgänger in this universe, not sure if there’ll be some multiverse battle to see who gets to own this dimension

No I’m pretty sure it’s just Ben, since we (and the Umbrellas) know of only two versions. Umbrella Ben and Sparrow Ben. The Ben on the subway was probably Sparrow Ben since Sloane wasn’t with the group after the reset.

Well, there you have it...Old man is the one who released the particles to create the children to be a battery for his machine built around the Universe reset button, all to bring back his dead wife.

Reginald's wife was in cryo on the moon. The reason he sent Luther there was to protect HER!!! Post credit Ben had slicked back hair like series 1 and 2 Ben. Sparrow Ben had spiked hair.

I want umbrella academy to last till season 7, one for each kid. I feel like if given the attention and budget this show deserves they could reach that. We still haven’t touched on any of their villains and we can still learn more about the world they live in, imo season 4 would be too early to end the show

@@6ixallah it doesn’t really format itself like it has a definitive beginning middle and end, each season started with new problems and ends with new problems so I’m not sure how you know where they’re taking it lol, I’m not saying they have to push out seasons but if people still watch it and it has a good budget still let it go for as long as it can. 5 seasons would be too short for this show as they still can explore what happened to Benand the Jennifer incident, they can explore Hargreaves past more as an extraterrestrial, they can incorporate some villains from the comics and weave them into future seasons, there’s still a lot they can do with the series if they have the budget, im not really going to take you seriously if you’re saying riverdale and whatever the fuck that other show was deserved/s 7 seasons over umbrella academy imo

Part of my theory. Hargreaves needed 7 powerful people for the reset. That’s why he only adopts 7 of the 43. But he needed the Umbrellas to show up because Christopher doesn’t have a body and can’t stand on the sigil. So he pushed Klaus back because he didn’t need him. He had his 7 plus Allison. And his wife was hidden on the dark side of the moon because she’s an alien. Duh. I really enjoyed the reaction.

He didn’t need the umbrellas to show up he only adopts 7 because he’s arrogant and believes he can do it with just 7 kids (even tho it would be easier with more). He pushed Klaus because he “was more trouble than his worth” if he had kept Klaus, Klaus would see Luther and tell the others what happened to Luther which would ruin his plan but he didn’t expect him to come back which means he was going to use Allison as one of the 7 sacrifices but rewrite everything as he did.

Yes it was actually all a plan just to get his wife back. there was a flashback scene in season 2 where we see his wife dying and then he releases the particles into the air. the same particles enter into the women who then gave birth to the kids who he then adopted. seven of them specifically because that was the amount he needed to power the sigil, reset the timeline and then essentially...BRING HIS WIFE BACK. He even told luther that he sent him to the moon to protect the most important thing in the world which we saw eventually was his wife cuz she was on the other side of the moon. them losing their powers was weird though. im not sure if it was because the machine sucked the particles that probably gave them their powers or hargreeves reset them without their powers cuz he feels they will be a nuisance or something. not sure. but great reaction though!

See the thing that gets me about that (because I agree that seems to be what it implies is the case) is there's 2 problems with it. First - the opening spiel says Hargreeves tries to adopt as many of them as he can...so taking 7 isn't actually the plan according to that. Also if he was actually only trying to take 7 because he needed 7 for the sigil, that's ridiculously poor planning considering what they need to do and the stakes of it. The likelyhood of at least one of them dying is very very high and if he only has the exact number then that's it, plan out of the window (presumably exactly the issue with the s1 timeline, Ben died and his plan was out the window so he stopped caring about them). Given how smart they make Reggie be that seems like a stupid oversight to give him in his grand plan with decades of planning!

@@Wolfer1OOO That is one take on this plan. Another is that the "kids" are a pain to control. And the more of them, the more headaches he has to deal with. So getting 7 is "enough". Plus Reggie is very self confident. I think he thought nothing could go wrong enough to actually lose a member. But again not over do it at same time. He mentioned to #5 that he had watched many realities crumble. So maybe he tried all possibilities and settled with the one played out on show. Or the writers just made this all up for this season. That is what is fun about Umbrella Academy. There is so much chaos. They can get away with anything. Because anything goes.

@@donny1960 that really just seems like lazy writing, and it still makes my first point an issue! Really whichever way it is there's a problem because the two points cover the two different possible truths. It certainly seems like it wasn't planned out and they made a change for this season and hoped people just kinda ignored the issues with it

They could just leave it open ended here, but I'd like if they ultimately lead toward the team reuniting, reacquiring their powers, and ending up as powerful if not more by the end as they are when they get nuked. And eventually finding out that Hargreeves is some kind of ancient alien overlord / king, and that woman is his queen. And this whole quest has been about reclaiming a piece of his own species' technology, that allows him to essentially have godlike control over the universe. That was him basically designing the details of the new universe after its reset, in that little control room. He had just finished setting it up when Allison killed him, completely pointless to kill him at this point.

I think Umbrella Academy is at its best when the siblings are together. In the beginning they were separate and not communicating. While the 2nd half their stuck together

Just finally got to this show. This season just reminded me of Infinity War with the feeling the Hargrove (Umbrella’s Thanos) has won, and we know they have lost to his overall plan. The biggest issue, though, is there are so many questions about who he (or the alien) is, and what is really behind his motivations. Power, control, sure, but next season I’d like his backstory to be the focus, and moving to the “endgame” aspect of the show. How will they defeat him when he has all of the power, and they have lost all of theirs?

Apparently that's Umbrella Ben in the credit scene. It'll be interesting to see all of them make their way through life without their abilities. "The most precious thing" Luther was protecting on the moon was Reginald's wife.

I really don't understand the anger towards Allison. She lost a child. That's not a small issue. In addition, she's suffering from PTSD from her years spent in the 60s. Both of those things can change a person. I don't agree with everything she did but I understand why.

I assumed, in this reset, he never created the kids to power the machine so they never had powers. It was quite a mystical ending, curious where it goes.

So my take on the plan was for Hargreeves to reset the universe and the deal with Allison was that he would transfer her over to the new universe if she helped convince the vote to go his way (although that plan failed). In his plan the umbrella academy would die and would be reborn in the new universe, however, because Allison killed him before the Umbrella academy fully died the new universe both transfered them over and created new versions of everyone so we will now have two versions of every main character except Allison and Reginald which will likely create some paradox again or something.

I want to see The Umbrella members interact with there doppelgangers in season 4.

I'm with y'all, no one else I know watches Umbrella Academy, so it was fun watching with you guys. Also, the 1st half was also slow for me. I actually took a break after episode 5, but came back and binged the rest, and it picked up a lot for me. I'm curious what happens next if there's a season 4. I know it deviates from the graphic novels, so anything goes, I guess.

I didn't even notice that it was Ray at the end with Alison on my watch-through lol.

They so need one more season. I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!! Also am I the only one who thinks, there's a chance Allison might have died? It is easy to think Hargreeves gave her everything she wanted for working with him. But she seemed shocked that her siblings were dying, it didn't look like that was what she signed up for, she may have changed the last bit of whatever was Hargreeves's plan.. Also everyone appeared together even Luther, completely fine. All the wounds & cuts were healed- Five's arm, Diego's fingers, Luther completely. Except for Allison, she still had the cut on her arm, her face had cuts that were bleeding, every one looked brand new except for her. We saw with Klaus there is an afterlife and the dead person can harvest their own 'heaven'. For Allison, her ending seems the perfect heaven for her🤔

If I’m not mistaken the white bull thing was explained in the void, when Luther and Klaus were watching that show explaining reality

Klaus basically did dimension hoppin/skipping Klaus is.. or was at least broken. He was going through the channels of heaven and that mixed with what seems like absolute resurrection he can bring himself back to life from anything.

Great actors Great show I wish it had more glory 1 thing about this show is it has enough glory to get renewed so that’s cool

This last half of the season has redeemed the shaky beginning and the finale really stuck the landing can’t wait for the next season

I'm guessing they all dont have their powers because it was already taken out of them before the reset, but i bet Allison still has her powers

Buffalo was a metaphor for Klaus about his need to reach out to his father. Stanley's ear was just a medical condition.

I think the Ben on the train at the end is the baby who’s family threatened Hargreaves in the first episode of this season. He got to grow up with his family in Seoul. Not sure how he’ll be put into the rest of the story.

All this episode really did was create more questions than answers. And can only be answered in the very next season

Maybe the new universe is a combination of the original timeline and the sparrow one; meaning the sparrow academy will come back, and that’s why we have what is presumably two bens- both the sparrow and the umbrella ben

that was our original ben, the ben that came with them in the lift seemed to be sparrow ben for some reason

I'm glad you mentioned Klaus coming back to life without a body makes no sense. Did he materialized from nothing even though Reg mentioned that the longer he was dead the more vulnerable he was? That implies that he can be kill by decapitation or burning the body and I'd say disintegration counts as body destruction. Don't you think? About Allison's deal with Reg, he needed 7 but he got rid of Klaus. Does that mean that saving Allison was an after though? Like; well, since Klaus is here let's use him instead and keep my part of the bargain. Meaning that he actually planned to betray her all along. But by saving her from being absorbed by the machine, she might be the only one who still have powers. How is that going to play in the new season? Will they come out with a new season? Five's arm didn't make much sense either. I'm still loving this series and will wait for season four! Who knows, maybe this is the timeline where they show how 5 created The Commission (since nobody in the commission has power, they use the briefcases). The fact that they don't have their powers will give us the chance to adjust to see 5 playing his actual age, since it's obvious that he's not gonna be able to play a 12 or 14 yrs. old anymore. They could start the season 4 5 years after the Oblivion event. I hope he never stop acting like an old soul, he does that so well!

For a 10 episode series I feel they left way too many unanswered questions. Also I just want some Dave/Klaus closure. I feel like they didn't even mention him because Klaus wouldn't gave come back if he was in the void with him.

Its almost certain that there will be a new season and if there is here is my theory. Episode 1 they will try and figure out how to get there powers back, at the end of the episode we will be shown a new Villian. So then episode 3 they realise that he started to attack the city so they have to get their powers back quickly then kill him. Episode 5 a nuke happens and they realise they could get there powers back from it, there is a chance they could get there powers back 0.1 before it hits they all have to use there powers at that point if one messes up then they all switch powers and thats all I have for the next season.

This show has been so epic , I cannot wait to get all the other material after season 4 finishes. Don’t think I’ve got enough energy for the boys the bear umbrella and stranger things ….

Think it makes a lot of sense we as viewers may have a sense of separation between the first half and last of the season. it’s starts chaotic with everyone on different pages not knowing what exactly is going on, plus the kugelblitz is forming and slowly destroying this timeline also causing chaos throughout the universe, we learn only bits of what’s happening each episode with each character, so of course we’re like what the fuck is goin on here? Lol Once they all kinda sorta rally together at least on what is actually happening, at least from what I’ve seen from other reactions and for myself it felt more cohesive going forward. Even when everything was being destroyed around them, seeing all the characters understand what’s going on like we do, to some extent and on one page, especially these characters gives that fuck yeah! Hopeful feeling. Lol just a thought.

And for that whole „Founder Five“- thing I have a theory So I think the „Founder Five“ first of all must have something to do with the alternative time line where the Sparrows existed and not the one where the Umbrella Academy existed. Everything was going just as it was supposed to (Five meeting the Founder- Five, getting the tattoo from pogo that he’d later find on himself, therefor completing the loop as well as getting his arm cut off by one of the guardians of Oblivion). But after all that something happened that changed everything. And the only thing I could think of would be : Viktor deciding NOT to stop Allison from pressing the button. My theory is how it was supposed to happen was : Reginald is dead. Viktor kills Allison and stops her from pressing the button. Five figures out how the machine works and rewrites the universe instead, creating the commission to protect time and space and to insure everything that’s supposed to happen, happens! The end of the world HAS to happen. Just as the Handler always said as well as Founder Five. Because that’s the only way that loop will end. He obviously didn’t figure out the machine completely so made that mistake of creating an infinite loop and not giving other versions of himself all the knowledge he has. Because Allison survived and pressed the button everything was rewritten in Reginald‘s image. And since Reginald is the only one knowing about that entrance to Oblivion he could rewrite it every single time. So as „Founder- Five“ said- all that’s left is going to be Oblivion

Question: Hargreeves built the Hotel so how come he didn't know that the pattern on the floor of Hotel Oblivion was the sigils he needed for the 7 Bells? Also, for such high stakes for him to have seven bells in the end for his ultimate plan, he still makes the mistake to only raise seven children with no spare! 27 (?) children with powers were born in 1989 (with our original 6 minus Ben dead because of Harlan) and he wouldn't get a good dozen to insure against accidents and deaths?

This episode was so reminiscent of 13 Ghosts. Lol

My only complaint about this last episode is the way they made the guardians look. Very generic masked CW lookin bad guys

Yes!! Crap design. It seemed like a beyond the looking glass deal so I thought they would fight some weird funhouse mirror version of themselves.

Allison did make the right call after all.

I think Allison still has her powers. The rest were reset, but her wound was still there.

SO, SO MANY QUESTIONS -What's up with this universe? Did the kids survive because Reginald spared them and gave them a chance to live a normal life? Because they seem to remember everything. -Is Allison dead and now in the afterlife.. Why didn't she show up along with the rest? -Are their power loss permanent? -Do they have doppelgangers in this universe? -What's up with the BEN at the end?? -Does Reginald own everything now? How much does he know? What's up with his wife?? All I know he did all this shit to get his wife back :) Pls I need one more season. I need answers 🥴

Maybe the reason why Klaus ressurect inside the Oblivion is because he killed himself using the horn of the buffalo and the buffalo head was part of the Oblivion.

This season would have been so much better if it focused more on the sparrows. Would have been great to watch each member of the umbrellas connect with a sparrow member in some way. The way they lost their brother and it started to crack them the same way as the umbrellas losing Ben. It could have been super powerful if the families fought for the season but then gradually came together to win the day at the end. The wedding was far and away the best part of the season for me.

Isn't Klaus supposed to have telekinesis as well, like in the comics?

@@shawnwilcowski well he still does the knife thing in the comics. But his superhero name is the Kraken because he can breathe underwater, whereas in the show he can control the trajectory of objects I think? Hence why he could stop all these bullets in season two

I feel like if Reggie was going to honor his deal with Alisson only because Klaus showed up, by bringing only 7 people he has totally going to do Alison dirty.
