The Ultra Fine Point on Sharpie Pen and Permanent Markers | What's the deal?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video will take a look at the Ultra Fine Point Sharpie Permanent marker and the Sharpie Pen fine point. What's the difference? They both have the same size point and yet one is labeled "fine point" and the other "ultra fine point". Or are they the same? Let's check this out!

The difference between the inks is that permanent markers contain toluene, along with a number of other chemicals that are not present in writing pen ink. Permanent markers are not pens and are not for daily writing - they’re for marking. They bled through paper like a beast and can be dangerous to inhale for extended periods. The ones labeled sharpie pens ARE suitable for daily writing on typical paper, and have no odor.

Just a note - Those “columns in the side of a book where you can write” are called “margins.” And the blur/blot problem is also related to the paper you’re writing on.

Love the pen videos. The sharpie pen actually comes in an all black body now. looks better to me.

The old pens looked nicer, They were all black with accents of the pen’s color around it.

Oh, do they make those ultra-fine pointed Sharpies pens in multi-colored packs?!! That would be AWESOME, if they do!!

YES, your demonstration is PROOF that the ink formula is DIFFERENT in the Sharpie pens and markers! The pens are BEST for writing on regular paper. The markers are for writing on every other surface.

Hey there, how ya doin'? I assume that there's a difference in the ink formula that's used between the Sharpie markers and pens. I LOVE the Sharpie brand! I write with the ultra-fine markers. I use the fine-pointed ones to mark appointments and notes on my wall calendar. I just ADORE the multi-colored packs of those Sharpies!!

that's cool and all but how come the ink of my newly bough sharpie pen won't come out at all. Like I was able to write a line then it stops working tf

I've been looking for a permanent marker with a finer tip than Sharpie Ultra-Fine, but those that are finer aren't permanent (Micron, etc). Could anybody recommend such a marker if you know of any? It's for writing on plastic. Thank you! :-)

A super star entertainer autographed my car fender with a felt tip marker that faded away even though the car was stored away. Is there a method to bring out the autograph??? Thanks!

Hi Rix you can buy them Sharpie pens (the first one you show ) on Amazon. There's a pack of four which are black ,blue , green and red. You can also buy 0.5 fine pens from most art shops. They are great for writing small or use in artwork

The Sharpie pen has FADE AND WATER RESISTANT INK . . . I have the package in front of me, that I just purchased NOT PERMANENT. And the MARKER has permanent ink. So that's the difference-- the INK. I agree. Thank you for showing us the difference between everything.

That's correct. Marker is permanent, pen is a different animal.

this comparison should've ended with one being a pen, the other a marker. the marker's fine point is excellent for it being a marker. a pen is a pen. absolutely no confusion here.

The permanent marker is marked as ultra fine point because it's in comparison to the regular sharpies.
