THE ULTIMATE SAIGON STREET FOOD TOUR 🇻🇳Northern VS Southern Pho! with Back of The Bike Tours
As the sun sets on our final night in Saigon, I've realised there's something I've yet to share with you - the vibrant food of this amazing city after dark. Tonight, I'm embarking on a culinary adventure with the fantastic folks from Back of The Bike tours. They've graciously agreed to guide me through an epic food tour, where we'll compare Northern Pho with its Southern counterpart, both of which have me buzzing with anticipation.
Alongside these culinary delights, there's one dish I’m not so excited for. But one thing is for certain - we're in for a feast of great food and even greater company. This tour has been an absolute delight for me, and I'm confident you'll feel the same. So, without further ado, let's go!

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this KZread channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!
I’ve never understood travelling to a town or city and not eating the local food. How else do you really connect with a place? Let’s get out and explore together and I guarantee you’ll find a whole different side to this wonderful country.
If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!

hahaha yes! I am so glad I came back and saw the Vit Lon!
I think the best takeaway from this was when you said "If you're enjoying what's in your bowl (or on your plate), then you're doing the right thing". In the long run, that's all that matters.

Exactly that Willie!
I like how you're straightforward and give specific details when talking about food, instead of just saying generic things like "hmmm... wow...". I can't wait to visit Vietnam!

Super keen on this one because when my parents make phở they make a combination of both south and north, so I guess I get best of both worlds 😊

Great Vid, Gary! Thanks for coming out with us!
Your videos always make me envious of the food and experience, but this tour and your hosts are top draw. I need another trip to Vietnam... but may need to settle for Kingsland Road London ...
I'll ask for the egg shot next time I get southern Pho in the states. The extra protein, "these don't grow themselves!" hilarious Gary!
Delicious PHO, brother
This must be one of the most bone sweet videos I've seen about pho. Definitely flank and brisket and no meatballs in my pho too.
Another Gem of a video Gary. Both Pho bowls looked fresh and delicious.
I love Quail on the BBQ and the best I have had was greek. Would love to do the motorbike tour, hopefully one day.
I like Pho bo in the South because it has a lot kinds of meat and beef ball. Pho Ga(chicken) in the North is light, mild sweet.
Haha it’s so funny watching you struggle to eat something 😂
Just caught up on this one. You made me laugh 😂 when you gagged. Wow seafood place looks amazing.
I really enjoy watching. Great video!!
Fantastic vid Gary. Was surprised you didn’t like the balut after seeing what you can put away. Did you swallow the egg down or burst the yolk in your mouth?
@22:00 Gary's serious face 😂
Phở Lệ is great but calling it the best phở ever in the city is bold
👍👍🔥🔥

Sawaddee ka Khun Garry 🙏
ive got a good dish chicken frozen veg coconut milk and curry powder thats thai coconut curry
Pho Lê is OK but not the best Pho restaurant in HCMC .The best ones are Pho Hung ( on Nguyen Trai street ) , Pho Thai Son ( on Lê Lai str. ) and Pho Pasteur ( on Vo Thi Sau str.) . The worst one is Pho Quynh on Do Quang Dâu str. in the backpacker's area .
I don't know about this one...seemed like they were trying to convince you it was good
I am a north Vietnamese but I prefer the southern VN version of pho.

@@trinhduycuong1991do bạn quen khẩu vị ngoài bắc thôi. Miền nam ăn phải có rau thơm, chanh, gân… mới ngon
Everything is in the South better than the North except Sceneries.
Everyone raves Pho Le. It was good but not great. There’s better pho in Cali.
