The ULTIMATE Run 'n Gun BMPCC4K Rig | Complete Rig Breakdown

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is the rig I built for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. It's a more minimal setup designed for quick run 'n gun scenarios.

nice video! Little tip for the HDMI lenght problem: Use a coiled HDMI cable. With that you are able to mount the monitor almost everywhere on the camera and the cable will stay always in the lenght you need.

Blackmagic recommend that you not use an internal battery at the same time as an external one because you can overpower the system. We used a system similar to yours until one of our 4Ks failed suddenly and we were stuck with a £570 repair bill. I can't be certain that the dual battery use was the reason but it may be worth following their advice.

Nice video! On the topic of hot swapping those batteries...blackmagic actually recommends that you don't use an internal battery when using external power as the camera may not receive proper voltage as it is trying to charge the internal battery. (Especially with an no-f solution as they just aren't as powerful as a v mount setup) Additionally it can create excess heat and isn't recommended for long term use. Anyway if you want to look into it more I'd check the manual and the blackmagic forums. Thanks for the awesome vid though!

Interesting, I’ve never heard that before. The more you know! I’ll look into it further. 👍🏻

do you find that the smallrig plate ALWAYS gets loose underneath your camera, when you have a V-mount batter attached in the back? I'm constantly having to tighten it with a quarter

Ryan Sulak I don’t have that problem. But I can see it happening when you have a lot of weight constantly tugging on it.

I use 5000 mAh and they last several hours. Haven't personally timed it but I've gone for all day shoots and only switched it out once.
