Head's engineering pedigree shines through yet again. Congrats on the pick!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 awesome! goodluck with the radical. hope it helps you notch some great wins
Yes! Radical for the W! Great series, absolutely love watching people’s racquet journeys, especially yours since you really took your time. Loving the paint on a racquet seriously allows you to give the racquet a serious try and work more with it and give it a fair shot. Also, the more you use a solid/heavy racquet, the heaviness and plow through only get better because you get stronger and more comfortable with the stick. You’re only going to get better with it as time goes on. Good luck with the Radical in the future!

Thanks Legend! You have been around for the whole journey too. Thanks for all the support!
Congrats! That's why I love my Extreme Tour. It's so fun to play with and it's easy on the arm. When I tested the Radical Pro, it was very easy on the arm as well. The Solinco Whiteout and Babolat PA98 are awesome rackets as well but can be a little bit jarring on the arm after playing with them a few times. Head did a good job at making the new Auxetic frames arm friendly.
Congrats! I was rooting for tge Radical because the customization sounds awesome and I like the name of the line. Good luck in the tournament!😊
Great vid!
Finally! I have been following you as we had the same Extreme Tour problem (beat up frames and not loving the new one). Looks like a Radical Pro demo for me this month. Great series.

Congratulations with finding your new racquet! The Radical looks about 999 times better than the avocado looking Extreme Tour, so I'm hoping it will treat you as good as it looks! Do have to say it would look better with Head Lynx Tour in orange, something you definitely should try sometime : )

@@MPTennis If you are putting that much weight onto your Radical Pro, and you like the extended racket in the Solinco, have you tried extending the Radical Pro? Extending 0.5" adds 15-20 points to the swingweight, so you'd be able to play the racket stock in an extended version. There are several ways to do this. One is the XTD extension buttcap (in which case, buy the racket one grip size down, because it makes the grip larger); another is to make a wooden plug, which is more work (I find that pine from a straight-grained 2x4 works best) but has the benefit of re-using your stock buttcap and not changing the grip size. I've been extending my rackets to 27.5", and both these methods work great. Of course, the easiest method would be to have Beckett do it for you!

Very nice!
If anyone has this arm-shock problem with the Solinco Whiteout (regular or XTD), consider just switching strings, because a full bed of poly is definitely a stiff feel in these rackets, particularly on flat serves. The two setups I like are (1) 4g Soft in the mains (Head Hawk Touch is good too), Diadem Evo in the crosses (Glide is good too), or (2) Diadem Evo in the mains (gut is good too, if you have the cash; several other synguts would be OK), Head Hawk in the crosses (Solinco Outlast is good too; Hawk and Outlast stay slick as crosses for a very long time). This softens up the stringbed just enough. Number 1 makes the racket a bit more powerful and Number 2 makes the racket much more powerful, so whether that's a good or bad thing, you'll need to decide for yourself. Number 1 is much longer lasting than Number 2; 4G Soft is one of the best strings for tension maintenance and durability.
Thanks again for your candor - for those of us that have or had arm pain, it's useful to know which racquets might provoke this. All the best with the Radical; I think Head is on a roll at the moment.

WO 18x20 also gave me arm pain, even strung in a hybrid with gut. The only other frame that has ever bothered my arm was the PS 2nd gen 16x19.
This was awesome! Loved this series, just switching to the Radical MP myself for the same reason so comfortable on my body as a 4.5 NTRP player. Hoping to see more match analysis and string reviews!

@@msalvsI’d say it’s string sensitive. You probably will experience arm pain with something like Luxilon 4G. That same string wouldn’t feel as bad in the Blade for example. For me, Babolats are very stiff and end up hurting with almost any string

@@msalvs coming from the vcore 98 yeah I would say it’s a bit stiffer but I love the feel I get around the net with the radical. I agree with the above comment, radical mp is very string sensitive I currently use the Grapplesnake tour sniper at 53lbs and it works like a charm
You should give the standard length WO a try, there's usually less torquing with a shorter racket!

wow, great to see ur racquet journey finally come to an end. i honestly thought the extreme tour or whiteout was gonna take it. i personally love the extreme tour, very hard to find much wrong with that racquet in terms of performance. and the whiteout line is amazing, it’s even been getting lots of love on the youtube space, but ur right it can be quite harsh-feeling. i do have one question tho: why the radical pro weighted up to ur specs instead of the radical MP weighted up to ur specs?

You should have tried the regular sized solinco 18 x 20. That extra length puts extra stress on arm
Had the same experience with the Solinco. Love the racquet, but had a bit of arm pain creeping up with it. That's too important to ignore.
Arm pain from the Whiteout !! Yikes !! Probably due to the 40T carbon coupled with extended length = more torque on the arm. There's always a price to pay !! Those new Radical frames look nice. Good choice !! I would probably go with the (easier to swing) MP version though. The soon to be released Yonex Percept looks interesting too - as they seem to be more focused on stability and control. Im sure Beckett will be on their case very soon. lol Good luck in the future matches with your new frames.

Give the Diadem Elevate V3 305 a hit! Super stable.
I've tested Yonex ezone tour, vcore 95 (23), Tecnifibre TF40 315, head speed pro, prestige pro and the radical pro is the best for me, yet going to test 3 more racquets, radical pro is very good racquet, I really like it playing without dampener, I don't know why but it plays best without dampener and I didn't like it with dampener, even that I all my life played with dampeners
Yours and Beckett's reviews are so good, they're making me want to move to Canada. Arm pain is a big deal, and it's also why I'm considering continuing my racquet journey despite loving a lot of things about my current racquet. Do you have any idea what about the whiteout causes your arm pain?

That’s a great question. I actually haven’t used that racquet since my u12-u14 days so I can’t tell you.
I think you should give the whiteout a another chance just with lower tension which you can get away with because it’s 18 x 20
Once you go radical you cant go back, been with it since day one, tried just about every other racket and none hit quite the same!
How many hours did you spend hitting and trialing the racquets, was it like hate or love at first hit or there was one that got better over the trial? I'm waiting on the demo of the standard length Solinco 18*20 after watching reviews, tad worried now it will be overly stiff as I found the Shift 300g instantly harsh. Also are you going to post more match play?

WHITEOUT is not a stiff racket. It is a 18x20. String the racket 10% (or more) lower than a 16x19 with the same head size. Tennis Magazine just selected it as having the “Best Feel” of any 98 out there. The foam filling give it great comfort and feel. I have had zero arm pain and playing with mine for the last three months - but I’m stringing a gut poly highbred at 42/38. Love it.

BOO! How can you compare a customized racket to a stock racket. What if you had customize the solinco Whiteout? I don’t know that this is the apples to apples comparison. Beyond that, it seems to me that if you had arm pain, you would probably lower the string tension before giving up on the racket. The Whiteout is a denser string pattern. Personally, I have the exact same solinco racket in the extended version, and I’ve been playing with it now for couple months, and I string it with a gut/poly hybrid and have zero arm pain no matter how many hours I play.

Is radical mp a good racket for usta 3.0-4-0?
@outcometechnology
Жыл бұрын
Short answer: Absolutely yes. Longer answer: My 3.75/almost-4.0 hitting partner settled on a G360 Rad MP after years of trying various sticks that just felt too clubby/powerful, and it's only been a help in developing his game. Overall, one of, if not the, most universally playable frames on the market. I wouldn't hesitate to pick it in the slightest. That said, you may find it lacks a bit of free power in stock form, but that's nothing that a higher-power string setup and/or a few grams of lead in the hoop and/or handle can't help to overcome.
@sjowieso7599

@@outcometechnology thanks for your detailed answer. I couldn't get testracket atm, but was bit in doubt between speed mp and radical mp. I could get speed mp test racket. Does your answer counts for tje speed mp aswell. And if u would advice me 1 of the 2. Which 1 to go for? Hope to hear from you
@outcometechnology
Жыл бұрын
@@sjowieso7599 Both frames are solid. I would say Speed MP if you're more of a baseliner who counterpunches and attacks mostly from deeper in the court; Radical MP for a more all-court game style, where you might initiate your attacks from deeper in the court, but you also look to finish points from closer to the net, be it a mid-court put-away or net volley. Also, the Rad MP probably is the better choice if you have a one-handed backhand. If you have a two-handed backhand, they're both equally good. Hope that helps!

@outcometechnology
Жыл бұрын
@@sjowieso7599 Well, it sounds like you have two choices to make -- backhand and racquet. I would focus on your technique first, and the racquet second. Backhand -- IMHO, it comes down to how competitive you're looking to be. If you only play casual-competitive or even just socially, then choose whichever pleases you most. But if you play competitively, then I would say unless your one-hander is truly solid enough to be a routine strength and almost never a weakness (ie. Dusan Lajovic), I would go two-hander; it's simply the smarter choice, especially for someone who's a predominant baseliner, and especially for return of serve consistency, which has become crucial -- that is, if you actually want to play higher percentage tennis and win more in the modern power/spin game. Again, neither stroke is out-and-out better, but more often than not, the two-hander is smarter choice (even if it is less beautiful to play/watch). Racquet -- Both racquets are usable enough on either type of backhand, but the Rad MP will feel a bit more maneuverable and less clunky on the one-hander. Both racquets can be customized to play well enough for both singles and doubles. It sounds like you really need to find a way to demo both racquets, and do so with the same string and relative tension. Otherwise, try buying one of each used, then have a playoff, keep the winner and sell the loser for minimal loss.

@brandomaxwell

What'd be stupid is continuing to play with a racquet that causes you pain, or at least neglecting to experiment with a softer string setup. Too many rec players play thru pain, not realizing the permanent damage they're doing to their arms. May I suggest a video about that?
