    I have a question, if we control the strain rate by changing the assigned displacement and the time period, does it matter whether we use dynamic or static steps?

  • @hnrwagner

    @@gideonlyngdoh3538 depends on the type of the analysis, I have at the moment an analysis of a thick composite tube under axial compression. If i change the displacement (strain rate), the stiffness of the model changes (in the load-displacement curve, slope of the curve) in a dynamic explicit analysis, but not in a static analysis.

    Dear Dr. Wagner I hope everything is going well with you. Thank you for your informative and comprehensive videos. I have a question; could we calculate the strain rate from the machining process like the proposed video? based on RF and U of nodal displacement of a single element in the chips? or is it possible to activate one of the field outputs like PE or LE or NE to get the strain-time graph? Thank you for your help and time.

    Thank you very much for the video, Dr. Wagner. As always, it Washington a great explanation!. One question, what would be the procedure to introduce material softening/degradation/bauschinger effect under cyclic loading?. Thanks in advance for your answer!! Regards!

    I have a question about the stress triaxiality when you set 0 and when you set 1/3 for uniaxial tension

  • @hnrwagner

    @hnrwagner

    it only works if you have at least two values, so only 0 or only 1/3 makes no difference

    I was thinking that a true stress vs true strain curve is always increasing.

  • @hnrwagner

    @hnrwagner

    that correct, the equation for true stress may only be considered valid after Ultimate stress value from engineering stress.

    strain 0.000154128 tensile strength as 1.37874 MPa this is the tensile data i obtained performing test on gfrp composite i dont know why i am getting so leeser value material properties are: E11=8943.066, E22=8941.682, E33=41396.052 and one more thing is that during experiment i have applied strain rate of 1mm/min but in abaqus i feed load as a velocity of 1/60 mm/sec is is okay

    How is the fracture strain determined? Why is it not the strain at the end of the stress-strain curve?

  • @hnrwagner

    4 ай бұрын

    here you can see the determination of the fracture strain: kzread.info/dash/bejne/moqIxsqgkbTQqc4.htmlsi=TZ1kI-0tmAifQGap the definition of it is described in the ABAQUS USER MANUAL, the fracture strain is the strain where damage initiation starts
