The ULTIMATE Powerbeats Pro Review w/Bose SoundSport Free and Jabra Active Elite 65t Comparison

Ғылым және технология

Powerbeats Pro are the best headphones I’ve ever exercised with. The design is top notch and I’ve NEVER once had to worry about them falling out. This is something I can’t say for most bluetooth workout headphones.

Powerbeats Pro at the gym - 00:01:41
Out of all the headphones weʼve used for working out these last few months, nothing stays in our ears like the Powerbeats Pro.
During our average workout, all we had to do to for a great workout with the Powerbeats Pro was to make sure that the ear loops of the Powerbeats Pro did sit under our glasses arms.
The general design of the Powerbeats Pro is the reason why the fit is amazing. Most Bluetooth headphones try to improve the fit of the product by giving you a plethora of plugs and some give you a plethora of wings.
With the Powerbeats Pro, you have the option of the earplug size but you donʼt need to find the tightest fitting one. Because the headphones sit well in the concha of your ear. The concha acts as a shelf for the Powerbeats Pro to sit on. For vigorous working out, having the headphones sit in the concha isnʼt enough as any sort of vertical movement may dislodge them which is where the ear loops come in. They provide enough pressure to keep the Powerbeats Pro in the right place.
The one question you need to answer - 00:03:50
Despite our glowing comments about the Powerbeats Pro in the gym, the #1 thing you need to consider before getting Powerbeats Pro is its price.
If you do a lot of stationary exercise on machines and free weights, you might not need to spend all that money on the Powerbeats Pro. But if you do a lot of full body MetConʼs, then theyʼre worth the consideration.
Sweating on Powerbeats Pro - 00:04:37
When it comes to sweat protection, the Powerbeats Pro is rated to iPx4 which means theyʼll be good against splashing water. If you need something with a higher iP rating, the Jabra Active Elites are rated to iP56 which means they can survive powerful water jets while the Jaybird Run XT is rated to iPx7.
But donʼt let that marketing fluff fool you. You don’t really need your workout headphones to have a lot of protection towards the water. iPx4 is going to be good enough for the average person at the gym.
Powerbeats Pro at the office and home - 00:05:35
The awesome fit of the Powerbeats Pro is a detriment to office use. It gets annoying to put them in and take them out every time somebody comes to see you. Even if you can master putting them on efficiently, it gets annoying.
We’re also not too fond of the giant charge case. But the size is expected given that the Powerbeat Proʼs have an ear-loop.
If you can look beyond those shortcomings, we had no issues wearing them throughout an entire workday. No annoying pressure on the outer ear or inner ear, something we canʼt say for any of the other Bluetooth headphones weʼve used.
The only upside to using the Powerbeats Pro in the office is the fact that these headphones have a nine-hour charge to them. This means you could go all workday ignoring your co-workers. Quick-charge them for 5 mins and then bang out a 90-minute workout.
Powerbeats Pro on Sound Quality - 00:08:19
Thereʼs actually a lot of similarities between the Apple AirPods and Powerbeats Pro. Both are powered by Apples H1 chip which means that itʼs going to perform fairly close to one another. For us, the only thing that might cause a difference in sound quality is the fact that the Powerbeats Pro goes deeper into your ear which means it shuts out external noise which might improve the sound quality.
Powerbeats Pro Vs. Bose SoundSport Free - 00:09:31
Against the Bose SoundSport Free, thereʼs 5 differences. Overall, weʼd handily recommend the Powerbeats Pro over the BoseSoundSport Free. The Powerbeats Pro is just better.
Powerbeats Pro Vs. Jabra Active Elite 65t - 00:10:49
From my perspective, the deciding factor is going to be price. The Powerbeats Pro is almost twice as much as the Jabra Active Elite 65t.

So there's a lot of comments regarding my comments about sound quality between the Powerbeats Pro and Apple Airpods. I've got two additional thoughts on them. 1. I own both the Airpods 1 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6Rpkriuqa2eiLg.html) and Airpods 2 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/kWebtNNtcrWyZqg.html). For my perspective, the Airpods 2 sound much better than the Airpods 1 (though many will claim they are the same). The Powerbeats Pro and the Airpods 2 sound very close to me with the biggest difference between the two is the fit of the Powerbeats Pro going deeper into my ear. 2. With the minimal difference in sound quality (even if there was a large gap in sound quality), I'd choose a pair of headphones with a better fit than the a pair that sound better but ~might fall out. Honestly, if you're sitting at the gym thinking about the sound quality of your headphones, you're not working out hard enough. Don't agree? Well, do an all-out sprint for 60 seconds and then ask yourself "What's the sound quality like of my headphones?". I'm quite sure you're not thinking about how a slightly better pair of headphones would have made the last 60 seconds better.

I've never been able to wear earbuds my whole life due to my weird shaped ears, they would always fall out. So I got the Bose soundsport free's, they've been great. Only problem is when I do high intensity workouts with a lot of vigorous movements like crossfit workouts, they fall out. Today is the last day I can return the bose, should I go for beats? Also when I connect my bose to my macbook, i only hear sound out of one ear

*The new ear buds are more comfortable, easier to use, **Newest.Technology** and the noise cancellation has improved. The battery life seems about the same as the original but, overall, these are worth buying the latest version.*

To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzread.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

@@jedwardoo I have the Beats Studio 2 and Beats Solo 3, and I wore them for hours all the time, there's no fatigue whatsoever. Obviously, the PowerBeats Pro is so much smaller and light-weight as compared to Studio and Solo. As a matter of fact, I went on a 10 day vacation trip to Seoul, South Korea after I got the PowerBeats Pro, and I wore them everyday during the trip, no issue at all. I used it to watch my movies on my iPhone during the 14 hours long flight without taking it off and I have no problem. It is definitely replacing my Solo on air flight. I don't like the AirPod because of the "earring" look. But the AirtPod is extremely popular in Seoul. Surprisingly, people bought them to pair with their Samsung Android phones.

MobileReviewsEh kudos on this amazing thorough review. Before you did your 2 Powerbeats reviews I was looking for exactly what you did and agree with everything you said at the beginning of this video. No one, until you, were using them for what they were intended. I just worked out with mine for the 1st time yesterday, so still too soon to form a solid opinion, but liking them so far. I found they are sounding better with newer music that already are tuned with heavier bass. And while comfortable in the gym, 1 of the buds did begin to hurt my ear on the walk home. I must say, though, the case is not nearly as big as every review made it seem. It's perfectly fine to throw in your gym bag...like you said, these aren't for sitting around in the office... again, great video and you got a like and subscriber from me!

I enjoyed your video...great job! I have had Ménière’s disease for 25 years, and all the attacks have destroyed my hearing in right ear. I have Starkey hearing aid in just the left ear because of the garbled, almost non-existent hearing in that ear would only magnify that sound. I have the iPhone and iPad. I was in Apple store today and the Tech showed me these new ear pods. I’m 80 and very frustrated because it is so hard understanding people, phone conversations and TV! I use Closed Caption on TV but don’t find it that helpful. The Apple Tech said with the Powerbeats Pro I would be able to have my iPhone on a table and listen to conversations with these Pods. He said it would also help listening to TV and phone conversations. Like you said, they aren’t cheap, but if they would work for me to HEAR AND UNDERSTAND CONVERSATIONS AND ALL THE WORDS ON TELEVISION AGAIN, it would definitely be worth it! 😥Do you think these would help me understand conversations and TV again? 🤔Or is there another device that would help me? Thanks, and again, a great video!👍

Stay safe in the gym, man......don't want to hear you get a serious injury from lifting more than you can handle. Thumbs up for the review! My Bose soundsport is my favorite even though making phone calls disappointing.

Your review rock man!! Thanks a lot I would like your opinion. I need a pair of earphone for everything (phone calls, gym, music when I'm working on my startup, when I go walking, etc). Considering the fact that I will buy a pair of silicone ear hook (for the airpods) which one between the Powerbeats and the airpods 2 will you suggest me?

Quick question does the powerbeats pro have different tactile response at the button?. Cause mine has, the left has a clicky feel while right doesn't.

I do have a question about your statement you made about the ease of switching between devices with the powerbeats pro. Are the devices you switching between apple products? Would you do a comparison to Jabra elite sport? I really want to know if the results would be the same as the Jabra active elite, as in not being able to wear it throughout the day.

is it ok to leave the headphone inside the case all the time? because it charges the headphone once it is in the case and it keeps charging even if its fully charged. and i think overcharging might damage the headphone
