What's something that you know that wasn't mentioned here? 🤔 Edits: Forgot to credit Stephen Merchant as co creator of the British Office. I don't think "That's what she said" came from The Office. I'm a zoomer and my generation pretty much associates it with the show since it peaked in popularity as we were growing up. I don‘t think Hunter is Astrid‘s father. Because Jan was genuinely shocked when Kevin said he also donated sperm at the center where Jan got fertilized. Maybe she could’ve just acted shocked, but she talked to the camera when she made that „sue-icide“ pun, meaning that there is no need for acting, as several characters said pretty damning things and revealed secrets on these talking heads. ….she definitely did have sex with him tho.

the reason why the writers wanted them to split up is because of a popular sitcom in the 90's called Friends which basically wrote all the rules to having a popular sitcom (or maybe the reason why it was so popular is because it was sold cheap to all other TV stations at the time and it was aired over and over and over)... so one of the basic writing rules that was taken from Friends is that the love interest must NEVER be with each other until the end (this is to close off the series on the happy ever after note) but if you was to get the love interest together too soon it is thought that the audience will lose interest in the show... clearly The Office showed that it was a bunch of crap and that good writing keeps the audience.. i would even argue that now (after they both ended and its been yrs) The Office might be more popular than Friends...

For toby’s hesitancy to enter the church, it’s actually because toby was in seminary learning to be a priest (or something alike where you have to practice celibacy) and he met his wife and left the church. He even mentions that his wife was the first women he ever fell in love with and had premarital sex with. After that marriage failed he feels like he disobeyed god and that his current life situation was the punishment of such. Hence why he couldn’t make himself go into the church. I absolutely love that scene because of all the layers to it! but it’s definitely fun to imagine if toby was the scranton strangler

She could have been the one that made her cat SICK, but Dwight definitely killed her. Dwight explains that he put the cat in the freezer while it was still alive, supported by the fact that Angela says her bags of frozen food were clawed open. Dwight very proudly states that he put her cat down on purpose. That being said, I don't think it's likely that she made Sprinkles sick, either. Sprinkles was on a very strict medicine regiment, and if he was being poisoned, the vet would clearly have been able to tell and would have put him on a treatment for that, so Angela would have known too. And frankly I don't think someone like her would be ignorant about that kind of thing.

Something interesting I like to share with people is that the office actually reached out to companies/popular places in Scranton, PA to use in the background of scenes. I am actually from Scranton and can point out a few things that are genuinely real about the show. As you mentioned, the intro footage is actually footage of Scranton. Unfortunately, the Dunder Mifflin building in real life looks nothing like the one in the show, and actually looks quite abandoned nowadays. If you look behind Pam at the grey divider between reception and accounting, there is a purple and white checkered "blanket" hanging. That is a blanket from the University of Scranton. On the fridge, there is usually a lot of Scranton themed magnets from various places around Scranton. They also sometimes have a Happenings Magazine in the break area, which is a local magazine. In the episode "Goodbye Toby," Kevin sees Jan in a Gerrity's supermarket, which is a local supermarket chain. There is actually an Alfredo's Pizza -- but there isn't a "Pizza by Alfredo's." There are many cool easter eggs like these, but that is what I could think of off the top of my head!

I’m really disappointed no one has listed Creed as a Scranton Strangler suspect. The guy showed up to work splattered in blood (coincidentally on Halloween), was a cult leader, and assumed he was getting arrested when the cops showed up for a narcotics tip. He also stole Creed Bratton’s identity (and possibly murdered him). I personally think the Toby theory is weak.

some of this information is missing context that would make it make sense. For example, Roy wasn’t annoyed at Michael’s jokes, he liked the event because there used to be an open bar. He was upset that there wasn’t an open bar anymore. Also, Michael rode the bike in the christmas episode just as well as he did during the cold open. He can ride it for about 7 feet without falling. And, the thing about Michael and college; if you continue the episode, you will see that it becomes evident that Michael doesn’t actually know anything about college, because he says the professors used to throw parties. It was just a way to ask Jim about his barbecue without asking. There are a couple of other things, but I’ll just keep watching. lol

Wow, this video was amazing! I learned so many obscure facts about The Office that I never knew before. For example, did you know that Jim and Pam's proposal scene was the single most expensive shot on the entire series? Or that Steve Carell called in sick during the writers' strike with a case of "enlarged balls? Or that Phyllis Smith was an NFL cheerleader and a burlesque dancer before the filming "The Office"? I also loved how the video explained the origin of some of the jokes and references on the show, like how the computers in the office had internet access and the set was kept at 64 degrees Fahrenheit because of Carell's sweating condition. This video really made me appreciate the show even more and I can't wait to rewatch it with these new insights. Thank you for making this awesome video!

The fact there's another writer AND actor strike right now is uncanny, the fact that the executives and companies that make more than they can spend in a lifetime still don't want to offer reasonable pay and benefits to their staff over ten years later. Rich actors supporting the ones barely making ends meet is a beautiful thing to see and is a good reminder of the humanity that the companies seem to lack.

Did you buy it on physical media? I'm a born-in-the-90s millennial who came of age at the very end of physical media being the mainstream way to consume content. I preferred pirating everything, even then. I still do. But with especially iconic media, like The Office, I'm coming to understand that sometimes it's best to have physical media on hand. Disney/Hulu have been editing their content for mOdErN aUdiEncEs before streaming-all the big corporations are doing it. And they do it without saying anything, you'll just notice stuff missing. The thing about physical media is that it can't be altered and it can't be taken away from you for the crime of "wrong think." The latter really is happening. Steam-where you buy, store, and play digital copies of *purchased* video games-has fully removed entire accounts of users who say the wrong thing. And when I say remove accounts that includes the entire library of games that were bought and paid for and were _supposed to be_ as much "yours" as a physical copy. No refunds. This was a few years ago, at the time I first came across it I believe there were talks about a class action against Steam. *TL;DR elder emo discusses the significance of owning physical media*

Plus he knew the company was paying for the food and drinks, making much more easy to tolerate Michael. But when he found out that the food and drinks wouldn't be covered by Dunder Mifflin, he left almost immediately because it was much harder to enjoy the party and Michael.
