In this video, we're putting the popular product JB Weld to the test to see just how strong it really is. But first, let's dive into a brief history of JB Weld.
JB Weld was invented in the 1960s by Sam and Mary Bonham, a husband and wife team in Texas. They wanted to create a product that could fix almost anything, and thus JB Weld was born. It's a two-part epoxy that, when mixed together, creates a strong bond that can withstand high temperatures and pressures.
Nowadays, JB Weld is a go-to product for DIYers and professionals alike. It's designed for a variety of uses, including automotive repairs, plumbing fixes, and even household projects. Its versatility and strength have made it a staple in many toolboxes.
In this video, we're testing JB Weld's strength by incrementally increasing the weight it can hold. We start with a few cinder blocks and work our way up to seeing if it can lift a car.

I was just thinking about fixing one of the welds on my chair with some JBWeld. I was worried it wouldn't hold my 200 lbs body. This seals the deal. It should hold just fine. Thanks guys.

good use of the nut's patterm as more surfaces for the glue
Going to try and use it to fix the shift lever on my kids dirt bike. The teeth are stripped and itll cost too much to replace, what are youre bets it works or doesnt ? Should only take foot pressure for shifting so im skeptical.

Would the different kind of pressure make it weaker I wonder? It would be torsion instead of pulling on the weld it's be twisting it.

I dunno which JB Weld company you used but mine did not bond at all. I got the Epoxy steel resin with the hardner. I was trying to bond a steel plated nut to a steel shaft on a electric motor. It never bonded and I was able to remove it with my hand after 24 hrs curing. I sanded the steel and put some acetone to make everything was clean. I did this 3 times with JB Weld. I tried 3 brands of metal glue but all the same problem. I tried super and gorilla steel epoxy and same problem. I solved the problem by getting it welded. I also was emailing JB Weld support and they check the glue and also the pictures and video I sent to them. They could not understand why it would not bond.

33 years as a builder dealing with you mouthbreathers, only 2 options why it didn't bond for you. 1. User error with bs story 2. You are a paid troll with a bs story

Did you use the original formula? I find that basically every other version is never as good as the original one even in its intended purpose.

A rookie mistake I did is not adding enough hardener it's 1:1 if not a little more hardener. It's not like mixing bondo 50:1

It would not surprise me if Mr. Troy Landry King of the swamp could lift It. 😂👍🐊🎣🌀 Heck I’ve seen him real in a huge Bull Shark 🦈 too. That had to be like lifting a washing machine up into the 🛶 boat.

I had a rounded out Alan head button bolt on my motorbike. I glued an Alan key into the hole using this stuff and left it to dry for a week. As soon as I turned the Alan key, the weld cracked. So it seems it isn't suitable for some things.

I'm only here cuz I'm just making absolute sure since it'd be my first time using this stuff to fix my broken electric motor axle in one of those small electric transportation devices we've all been seeing in the past few years, until I can get a new one (distro is out of stock atm) Trying to not die lol. It's steel ,so surely it should be ok? It will be spinning at around a few thousand RPMs constantly, and be under 300 lbs of rider weight for a few weeks

JB weld is impressively strong but I can’t recommend doing anything beyond its intended use that could compromise your safety.

@@HonJazzz So it shouldn't be used on any moving components? This one's steel, and I mean we've all seen people even use it sometimes on full size vehicle drivetrain parts which are much heavier. When my axle broke during riding though it only scraped the side of the scooter's wheel well, and didn't cause a crash. I guess I'll experiment with it, (I'm wearing motorcycle gear anyway while riding as this scooter is fast)

I will use this to fill the space that makes internal contact with the bearing on the shaft for my washing machine, but my fear is that it cannot be disassembled again, it is less than 1/32 of an inch and reaches speeds of 1,200 rpm, instantly It's already dry, it's been more than 24 hours, but I'm not convinced that applying force marks my nail a little.
Please answer my question. Can you make a thread on the glue?

Shilling or incompetence. The handles on the plastic trash can should be a clue. JB Weld is like WD-40. No datasheet but so much marketing.
