Whether it's your first time in Valencia or returning for the tenth time, trying Valencian food is an essential part of enjoying this great city. It is one of the best things to do in Valencia. One of the best things about traveling to Spain is enjoying its rich and diverse culinary scene. A popular option for tourists and locals alike is the Menu del Dia, a fixed-price meal that typically includes several courses and a beverage. This guide will provide you with all the information you need to know about Menu del Dia, from its history to how to order.
The Menu del Dia started in the 1960s as a way for Spanish workers to have a cheap, well-balanced meal at lunchtime. A law passed in 1965 required many restaurants in Spain to have a menu del dia. The rule set standards and prices for the midday meal to help workers.
The Menu del Dia, or "menu of the day," is what restaurants in Spain serve for lunch (la comida). The Menu del Dia is the most affordable way to eat in Spain. This meal is a good size, and you only have to pay one price for the whole thing. It usually consists of soup or salad, bread, a main dish with a side dish, dessert, and coffee. Wine or water is included. Most of the time, you'll have at least two-course options to choose from.
Some are more traditional, some experiment with mixing styles, and some take us to another culture. These are some of the best menus of the day we've found in Valencia. Prices range from 12 to 25 euros, depending on your preference.
▶️ The restaurants that we have eaten menu Del Dia are:
• Bar Convento
• Saona
• Gaspar
Join us as we explore the vibrant culture and culinary traditions of Spain through the lens of Menu del Dia. Whether you're a foodie or a traveler, this video is a must-see for anyone looking to experience the best of Spanish cuisine.

Thank you for this! I love your videos for breaking down different daily parts of life in Valencia. We are moving there in the fall, so I’m eagerly taking it all in. Would you consider one that explains public transportation? Paul had a quick minute about it in one of your earlier videos, but we are moving from a place with no public transport and it feels very intimidating! We’ll be settling in one of the towns just outside Valencia and will have to take a bus or train in. And I have no idea how it works.

Thanks! Loved this video! Im a huge fan of the menú del día. Although we visit Valencia annually, we learned a few things in the video. Also, the place you showed us on Guillem Castro is right down the street from the Airbnb we stayed at this year.

Hey guys, your videos are great. Thanks for your contribution and sharing all of those stuffs with others. I just wonder, how did you choose a borough in Valencia? I mean, Are there any platforms with info regarding the stuffs like safety, tranquillity, greenish, parks etc?

Thank you for the kind words! We were hoping to stay near the Turia park because of our dog, but had to expand our search because some apartments wouldn’t rent to us. So while we didn’t get the location we wanted we actually ended up in an area that was better for us. Whenever we saw an apartment that we liked we went back to the area at night to see how quiet it is.

@@EverythingIsBoffo Yeah, sounds like a clever approach. But I thought there's a website or feedbacks on boroughs' characteristics, if a person is not there physically. But anyway, thanks a lot for respond. And have a good one, guys. You're awesome!

@@rustam3258 it’s all relative, I think. What feels alive and busy and fun to me could be bothersome and too noisy to another person. We live on a street lined with bars and it gets crowded at night, it’s noisy but I like that I can grab something to eat nearby. So I think every barrio will have pros and cons, and those will change depending on the person. Thanks so much again!!!

@@EverythingIsBoffo I’ve eaten at a couple in Barcelona, I think they call it primo Plato then secondo Plato. Also watch vlogs of road trips Spain and Portugal who have vlogs on menu del dia. I guess different regional variations.
