Warthunder is a great game, you need to invest your life into it to make it too high tier, but its just a fantastic game, that has survived time and reinvented itself. Ive been playing since 2013, and sure, there has been issues and gripes but the game is just always adapting and growing, and i still play it heavily at times.

Not surprised to see the i5-12400F rated pretty highly at $110. I bought mine two years ago for $160 and it has been outstanding not just for gaming but I do some software video compression with it too in Handbrake and am pretty pleased with the H.265 encode times even setting the encoder to the slow preset. Feel like the cpu has been even better bang for your buck than the Xeon E3-1231v3 I bought in 2014 to get i7 performance for i5 prices (paid $250 for that one though back when Intel dominated the market and could charge more).

The difference in gaming and even workstation performance is mind boggling. Even though it has 4 less cores and 8 less threads it's not even close. Some games I have doubled my FPS. As a 5800X3D user, I do agree that while the CPU is great at gaming, it should not be considered for a new build. AM4 shouldn't be considered at all anymore. I would even say that if you were gifted an AM4 motherboard, but needed Ram and a CPU, it would still be a better idea to buy a lower end CPU on AM5, and spend a little more to get the whole AM5 setup. Even a 7600X can often match the 5800X3D in gaming (right now), and you will have an upgrade path. I had several AM4 PC's, and I did a rolling upgrade on existing systems, that already had RAM and CPUs.

But just in case , upgrade the bios rn . and wait for the intel bios update in micro code so it doesnt degrade or at least degrade's slower . Intel 13th and 14th high end chips are getting unstable , crashing , and eventually dieng as the chip degrades due to the high high voltages. Intel is still trying to do damage control and not telling us everything , we know there was manufacturing issues in there main Arizona factory . My 13700kf hasnt had issues yet , but i undervolted it from the start . and even more so recently after i heard the ishues. hope we both have some of the better non flawed chips

This video was very useful even for me who lives in another country, Ryzen's cpu stands out in the Brazilian market for delivering great value for money, this video helped me analyze whether this is also reflected in other regions of the international market, here they are and the ones that stand out the most, mainly due to the economic issue of our country, are the builds with Ryzen 5600 and 5700x3d as the am5 for now becomes unfeasible and meaningless for many, but with this list the 5600 really seems to be well balanced, but some even consider the Intel platform but its cost-benefit in relation to longevity ends up being the determining factor in opting for AMD CPUs, at least here.

you completely missed the point of APUs, they're not meant to be used alone, they ARE meant for a dedicated GPU, just not right away, the deal with APUs is buying just the APU first and running the PC like that, while you save up big money to then throw in a big boy GPU, in fact, because of that same reason APUs are better than regular CPUs and not only be included in the rest of the tier list but also the iGPU should be counted as a plus in their favour, ofc considering also the specs of the CPU and GPU parts, a 8550G or 8600G absolutely blows a 4600G out of the water in both departments, and that same 8600G is actually crazy good on itself, as a CPU it's just on pair with the 7600 while having an iGPU strong enough to run modern AAA titles at at least 30-60 FPS also the 5700 is so hilarious the fact that it is so bad that objectively weaker CPUs are a better purchase

Did the silly and bought a 5800X not knowing its X3D counterpart was around the corner, and I'm at that debate stage of whether to jump to the newer gen for longevity with the 7800X3D, or a quick easy swap for the 5800X3D. Not in a massive rush, but I am considering both atm

Always enjoy and learn a lot watching your videos. I'm hoping to purchase a new desktop but won't be building myself. Only game I'll probably be playing is MS Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024. I've been leaning towards an AMD 7800x3d and your cpu rankings confirmed my thinking. Cheers......Use to live in Lenexa.

I just built a PC for my dad. He doesn't game and only uses it for checking email and web browsing mostly. I think Chrome is the most intensive program he runs. Anyways, I went a 5700G paired with a B550 board and it was super inexpensive. I guess prices have changed over the course of a couple of weeks but a 8700G is $220 more than the 5700G. On top of that, the 8700G requires a much more expensive motherboard and pricier RAM as well since it uses DDR5. $250 for the 5700G with mobo (B550M K) vs. $400 for the 8700G with same tier mobo (B650M K). I built his entire PC for $440.

the only reason why i have 7600X is because when it was at a price of 400$ in my region i found a crazy deal for only 150$ as a seller bought a wrong CPU. If it wasnt for that i would just wait and get more money for 7800x3d

Hurts to see my 5900X being put that low. I build around it before X3D's time, otherwise it would have definitely been a 5800X3D. To be honest, anyone building a PC right now should go for the 7800X3D. It's ~320€ here and you just can't beat that. The one chip that comes close in gaming performance is the 14900KF and you'll pay almost double for beating for 7800X3D by a few % in a few selected games. I'm not even sure what budget CPUs I'd currently recommend. The 7800X3D is so good it makes every other chip feel like a waste of money or performance, lol.

For 2020, the 5900X was excellent For 2024, it’s no longer recommended to build a new pc around And I agree with your opinion on the 7800X3D lol.

If you are already on AM4, but doesn't want to go to a new platform, 5000x3d series are still reasonable, but definitely not a smart move to build a new PC on AM4 platform

I got the 5800X3D back when it was still king. I can totally understand your placement. It still punches waaay above it's weight, but it doesn't make sense for a new build. In that case, the 7700X would make more sense. Cheaper for similar performance on the current socket.
